Sun Sep 11 202200:07Avisail Garcia Leaves With Hamstring Discomfort
Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia departed Saturday's contest in the first inning after experiencing discomfort in his left hamstring. He recently returned from the IL after missing a month of action with a strain to the same hamstring, so it's a bit concerning that he got lifted after playing one half-inning in right field. Perhaps the club is just playing it cautious with Garcia, but look for an update on his status prior to Sunday's finale versus the Mets.

Tue Sep 6 202216:29Avisail Garcia Activated From Injured List
The Miami Marlins activated outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring) from the injured list on Tuesday and optioned Peyton Burdick to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Garcia will immediately return to the starting lineup on Tuesday against Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola, as he's starting in right field and hitting cleanup. The 31-year-old veteran will be playing in his first major league game since Aug. 2, but he did get six minor league games to shake the rust off before he was reinstated. Garcia will return to being Miami's regular right fielder to close out the 2022 season. In 323 at-bats this year, he's slashing .232/.269/.322 with seven long balls, 30 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Overall, he's hitting just .226/.266/.314 with four home runs, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored and three stolen bases in 218 plate appearances over 54 games, so he hasn't done a ton for fantasy managers. Jerar Encarnacion will get the start in right field on Monday and will hit seventh against Mets left-hander David Peterson. The 24-year-old rookie made his major league debut on Sunday and went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and two runs scored.

Tue May 17 202213:17Avisail Garcia Homers Monday
Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia homered again on Monday, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI in an 8-2 victory over the Washington Nationals. It's been a dreadful start to the year for Garcia, who is in his first season in Miami, but things have started to pick up in the past few games. Garcia has recorded at least one hit in eight of his last nine outings, and he's slashing .370/.393/.593 with two homers and a steal in his last seven. Fantasy managers could do much worse than a soild power-speed option who bats in the middle of a sneakily decent lineup.

Over 20 games, he's slashing .177/.207/.253 with one home run, three doubles and two stolen bases. Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia hit a three-run home run in Saturday's Grapefruit League win over the Houston Astros. Garcia got the start in right field and should man one of the corner outfield positions for the Marlins in a slightly improved lineup. He'll be a solid source of power and run production in all fantasy formats. So far, he's the biggest signing for the Marlins this offseason, who should be competing for another fourth place finish in the National League East.

Thu Nov 4 202113:44Avisail Garcia Opts Out Of Deal With Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Avisail Garcia opted out of his deal with the team on Thursday and will become a free agent after a strong 2021 season. Garcia had a mutual $12 million option for 2022, but instead he'll receive a $2 million buyout and hit the free-agent market this winter. The 30-year-old from Venezuela had a solid season in his second year in Milwaukee, slashing .262/.330/.490 with a career-high and team-high 29 home runs, 86 RBI, 68 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 515 plate appearances over 135 games for the Brew Crew. Milwaukee already has an expensive outfield with Christian Yelich, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Lorenzo Cain, so the chances of Garcia re-signing with the Brewers or accepting a qualifying offer (if one is extended) are slim.

Thu Sep 30 202112:10Avisail Garcia Remains Out Of Lineup Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Avisail Garcia is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, according to MLB.com. It appears as just extra rest before the Brewers make a postseason run. He's been a consistent slugger in the middle of the lineup this season, smashing 29 HRs with 85 RBI, 68 runs, and a .265/.333/.496 slash line. Tyrone Taylor will man the outfield and bat cleanup in his place. Taylor has been above average with the bat in 89 games, as he's hit .239 with 12 HRs, five stolen bases, and a .772 OPS. He's better against left-handers, slashing .269/.313/.487, so with southpaw J.A. Happ on the mound, he's not a bad streaming option.

The 30-year-old has had a strong second season with the Brewers, slashing .270/.337/.506 with 29 home runs, 84 RBI and 67 runs.
