Wed Sep 15 202112:33Tyler Anderson Inefficient Tuesday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson only allowed one run to the Boston Red Sox Tuesday, on a J.D. Martinez solo home run, but he could not complete five innings, exiting after 4 1/3 having given up four hits and two walks while striking out five. He took a no-decision. He's now failed to complete five innings twice in a row after doing so in every outing the rest of the season. Fantasy managers only roster Anderson for the safe floor he provides, but these recent outings are reason enough to send him to the wire.

Thu Sep 9 202112:49Tyler Anderson Sees Five-Inning Streak Snapped
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson came within one out of extending his season-long streak of pitching at least five innings in every start Wednesday, exiting after 4 2/3 innings against the Houston Astros. He gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four batters in a no-decision. Despite the streak, Anderson has only completed six innings 11 times in 26 starts, limiting his potential to earn wins and quality starts. With a 4.20 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 120 strikeouts in 148 innings, he's a steady but unimpressive option the rest of the way.

Sat Aug 28 202123:19Tyler Anderson Goes Seven Strong In Loss
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson went seven strong innings Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks to the Kansas City Royals. He struck out six batters. Despite the solid showing, Anderson was handed his ninth loss of the season. Anderson has now delivered a quality start in two of his last three outings, and he's gone at least five innings in every start this year. He's a classic high-floor low-ceiling option for the deepest fantasy leagues with his 4.06 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 111 strikeouts 137 1/3 innings.

Mon Aug 23 202100:04Tyler Anderson Solid Against Astros
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson delivered another solid outing Sunday, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk to the Houston Astros in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out four batters. Anderson is simply a solid major-league starter, and while he isn't likely to be the reason fantasy managers win their leagues, he also isn't likely to be the reason they lose them. Anderson is a perfect fill-in in the deepest leagues with his 4.07 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 105 strikeouts in 130 1/3 innings, but he doesn't need to be rostered in shallower formats.

Wed Aug 18 202101:22Tyler Anderson Stifles The Rangers Tuesday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson had his strongest outing since joining the team on Tuesday, going six innings and only giving up one run on three hits and no walks to the Texas Rangers. He struck out four batters and earned his sixth win of the season. Anderson has brought some much-needed stability to the Seattle rotation, as he is still carrying a season-long streak of consecutive starts of at least five innings. With a 4.10 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 101 strikeouts in 125 innings, he's no fantasy ace, but he's a very safe option in leagues that reward innings pitched and quality starts.

Thu Aug 12 202119:40Tyler Anderson Extends Five-Inning Streak Wednesday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson collected a high pitch count over his first few innings Wednesday, but he still managed to extend his streak of starts with five or more innings, collecting 16 outs against the Texas Rangers. He allowed one run on six hits and no walks with four strikeouts. Anderson has been consistent all season, representing a safe fantasy option in deeper formats with his 4.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 97 strikeouts in 119 innings.

Fri Aug 6 202100:28Tyler Anderson Completes Five Innings Thursday
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson provided five strong innings against the New York Yankees Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks. He struck out four in the no-decision. Anderson has now completed five innings in each and every one of his 20 starts this season, though he has only completed seven innings once. He's remarkably consistent, but his 4.35 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 93 strikeouts in 113 2/3 innings are all unremarkable. He's not much of a fantasy play.

Sat Jul 31 202123:10Tyler Anderson Solid In Mariners Debut
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Tyler Anderson pitched well in his team debut, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks in 5 1/3 innings against the Texas Rangers. He struck out three batters and allowed one home run. He took a no-decision in the 5-4 extra-inning loss. This start was standard fare for Anderson, who is decent and reliable with a 4.39 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 89 strikeouts in 108 2/3 innings on the season. There isn't enough upside for him to be on fantasy rosters except in the deepest of leagues.

Sat Jul 31 202111:08Tyler Anderson Will Make Mariners Debut Saturday
Seattle Mariners pitcher Tyler Anderson is scheduled to start Saturday against the Texas Rangers. The southpaw was traded to the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday and will debut with his new team on Saturday. He owns a 4.35 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and an 86:25 K:BB across 103 1/3 innings in 2021. Anderson figures to be a fixture in the Mariners rotation and should provide Seattle with a reliable innings eater. The 30-year-old can be used as a streamer in a plus matchup against the Rangers on Saturday.

Wed Jul 28 202112:50Pirates Get Two Prospects From Seattle For Tyler Anderson
The Pittsburgh Pirates received catcher Carter Bins and pitcher Joaquin Tejada from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for starting pitcher Tyler Anderson, the team announced on Twitter. Over 51 games between High-A and Double-A, Bins has slashed .244/.399/.433 with eight home runs, three steals, 35 RBI and 51 runs scored. Tejada is a 17-year-old pitcher who made his professional debut this year, and over five innings at Dominican Summer League, he has allowed six runs four earned on one hit, four walks and three hit by pitches while striking out eight. Both of these players figure to be quite a ways from the majors, and of the two Bins is really the only one worth considering in dynasty formats at this point.

Wed Jul 28 202100:04Tyler Anderson On Verge Of Being Dealt To Seattle
Hours after a deal to send him to the Philadelphia Phillies fell through, Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Tyler Anderson is now on the verge of being traded to the Seattle Mariners, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.com. The deal with Philadelphia that was reported earlier on Tuesday fell through reportedly because of concerns with the medical reports on one of the prospects that were going to Pittsburgh. There's no word yet of what the haul will look like for Pittsburgh, but it does look like this move will be a potential downgrade for Anderson. He would've had some good value pitching in Philadelphia, but going to a tougher American League West division could make it tough on him the rest of the way. It's still at least a slight upgrade over Pittsburgh, though.

LHP Tyler Anderson will settle for half the offensive support he received in his last start when he gets a rematch with the San Diego Padres to open a four-game road series Thursday night. Anderson was on the winning end of a 16-0 decision when the clubs met last week in Colorado. He has never started a game at Petco Park in his career and has a 1-0 record with a 0.73 ERA in two career starts against the Padres.

LHP Tyler Anderson held the Padres hitless for 5 2/3 innings and gave up two singles in six scoreless innings with two walks and three strikeouts. He has pitched 10 consecutive scoreless innings in two games since being reinstated Sept. 10. On Monday at Arizona, Anderson pitched four scoreless innings in relief, throwing 59 pitches in that game. He threw 73 pitches against the Padres, and manager Bud Black said Anderson should be good for 80-90 pitches in his next start, which will be Thursday at San Diego. Anderson made his first start for the Rockies since June 25. After that game, he was placed on the 10-day disabled list for the second time with left knee inflammation and underwent arthroscopic surgery July 3 to have the knee cleaned out. Anderson pitched in three rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque before the Rockies reinstated him from the 60-day disabled list.

LHP Tyler Anderson is to rejoin the rotation for a Saturday start against San Diego, with LHP Kyle Freeland moving to the bullpen. Anderson gave up one hit, struck out four and retired 12 of the 13 batters in relief of Freeland on Monday. "Liked the fastball-change combination, mixed in a few sliders," Black said of Anderson's stint Monday. Anderson is 4-5 with a 5.75 ERA in 14 appearances (12 starts). He was activated from the 60-day disabled list Sunday after undergoing mid-season knee surgery. "We feel comfortable Anderson holding his stuff through 55, 65 pitches," Black said.

LHP Tyler Anderson retired 12 of the 13 batters he faced after entering in the fourth inning when starter LHP Kyle Freeland was removed after being struck by a line drive. Anderson, who was activated from the 60-day disabled list on Sunday after undergoing knee surgery in the summer, made his first appearance in the majors since June 25 after being sidelined with inflammation. "That's not the situation you want to come into the game in, but luckily Freeland is OK," Anderson said. He retired the first 11 batters he faced and struck out four. "I liked that there were no walks," Anderson said. "This is a park where a lot of runs are scored, so to limit walks you have a better chance."

LHP Tyler Anderson was activated from the 60-day disabled list after recovering from left knee inflammation. It was his second stint on the DL this season because of knee inflammation. Anderson was 3-5 with a 6.11 ERA over 13 appearances (12 starts). He last pitched on June 25 against the Dodgers.

LHP Tyler Anderson (left knee) threw 50 pitches, 32 strikes, for Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday at Reno in a rehab outing. He gave up three hits and one run with two walks and one strikeout. "Andy threw OK," Colorado manager Bud Black said. "The last two outings have been solid." Anderson, who threw 33 pitches in each of his first two rehab appearances with Albuquerque, last pitched for the Rockies on June 25. He then went on the 10-day disabled list a second time with left knee inflammation and underwent arthroscopic surgery July 3 to have the knee cleaned out. It's likely Anderson will be reinstated from the 60-day disabled list and rejoin the Rockies rather than make another start in the minors.
