Sun Mar 5 202322:04Leody Taveras Scratched Sunday With Side Tightness
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras (side) was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Los Angeles Angels due to left-side tightness. It doesn't seem to be a serious issue, and he should return to the lineup over the next few days. Taveras is entering his third year in the pros and is slotted to be the starting center fielder for the Rangers in 2023. He slashed .261/.309/.366 with a .675 OPS across 341 plate appearances. The 24-year-old filed quite an impressive first half after stashing a .920 OPS with a .393 wOBA. Taveras continues to impress the Texas front office and is certainly a perennial talent to invest in. The Dominican is a good option in deep-format leagues for fantasy managers searching for speed.

Sun Aug 14 202213:36Leody Taveras Is Out Of The Lineup On Sunday
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras is out of the lineup in Sunday's series finale against the Seattle Mariners. The 23-year-old speedster also missed Saturday's contest but it appears he's just getting a few days off after appearing in every game since his call-up back in early June. He's also slashing just .196/.207/.250 over his last 15 contests so a little break couldn't hurt. Overall, Taveras is rocking a .293/.326/.431 with three home runs, 26 RBI, and six stolen bases over 167 at-bats.

Thu Aug 11 202222:10Leody Taveras Records Second Consecutive Two-Hit Game
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras finished Thursday's 7-3 loss against the Houston Astros 2-for-4 with an RBI, making it his second two-hit game in a row. Hopefully, he gets on a hot streak as the 23-year-old hasn't had the best of luck lately, hitting .214 over his last 15 contests. Even so, Taveras looks to be breaking out a bit, slashing .301/.333/.442 with three home runs, 23 runs, 26 RBI, and six stolen bases across 51 games. If he can continue hitting for average and staying aggressive on the bases, he'll have enough value in most standard leagues for fantasy managers to roster him.

Sat Jul 16 202200:50Leody Taveras Homers To Continue Hot Streak
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run off of Robbie Ray and the Seattle Mariners Friday. Taveras has been enjoying perhaps the bes stretch of his career lately, with a .409/.413/.750 slash line over his past 15 games. He has three homers and four steals in that span. Taveras also has a six-game hitting streak, during which he has had five multi-hit performances. With stolen bases as sparse as ever, Taveras is well worth an add while he stays hot.

Sat Sep 18 202110:46Leody Taveras Collects A Pair Of Singles
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras has struggled during his time at the MLB level. However, he put together a nice performance during Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox. He went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a stolen base during the 8-0 loss. A nice day for Taveras, but he is still slashing .165/.207/.293 through 36 games this season. The Rangers are trying to see what they have down the stretch, but it's uncertain if Taveras is going to be in their future plans.

Sun Sep 5 202100:45Leody Taveras Collects Two-Hit Game
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras has been given a chance to make his mark down the stretch of the season. He hit leadoff on Saturday and made the most of his chances. He went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Since being recalled, Taveras is hitting .184 with two home runs and five stolen bases. He's obviously not a fantasy option and it doesn't look like he'll be getting significant at-bats with the team next season.

Tue Aug 31 202111:22Leody Taveras Hits First Homer Of The Season
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras was horrendous at the plate heading into Monday's contest against the Colorado Rockies. In fact, Taveras was 4-for-65 at the plate, but finally come through on Monday. He went 2-for-3 with a home run and double in the 4-3 victory. The Rangers are likely going to give Taveras plenty of at-bats down the stretch. They want to see if he can be a piece for Texas heading into the 2022 campaign. There is no reason to bother rostering Taveras at the moment.

Wed May 12 202116:06'I have a plan': Cuban Adolis Garca on a roll for Rangers
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Adolis García repeatedly pounded his chest with his right hand while bouncing around the bases after becoming the only Texas Rangers player whose first career homer was a go-ahead shot in extra innings. The 28-year-old Cuban rookie outfielder had a similar reaction in the field a few games later after jumping at the wall in deep center with his glove extended to take away a potential homer from a surprised Shohei Ohtani, who had tossed his bat aside after crushing the ball. “He’s not a 20-year-old phenom coming up here,” Rangers manager Chris Woodward said. “He’s been around a little bit and he’s getting a chance to play. And I think that this is the first time he’s been given the opportunity to kind of get out there every day and see what he can do.” With bulging biceps and his passionate approach, García has put on quite a show since getting called up April 13. His nine homers and 26 RBIs are the most in the majors during that stretch, and the expanding highlight... [More]
Mon Apr 26 202117:21Korean star pitcher Yang joins Rangers, ready for MLB debut
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Former Korean standout pitcher Hyeon-Jong Yang joined the Texas Rangers on Monday, and was looking to make his MLB debut. The Rangers selected the contract of the 33-year-old left-hander from their alternate training site before the opener of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels. Texas optioned struggling rookie center fielder Leody Taveras to the alternate training site. To make room on the 40-man roster for Yang, the Rangers transferred first baseman/outfielder Ronald Guzmán from the 10-day to 60-day injured list. Yang had been on the team's taxi squad for each of the first three road trips this season. He initially signed with the Rangers at the start of spring training after a 14-year career with the Kia Tigers. He was the MVP in the Korean Baseball Organization in 2017, and also the Korean Series MVP that season when the Tigers won the league championship. He won the ERA title in the KBO in 2015 and 2019. Taveras was hitting .087 (4 for 46) with one RBIs in his 15 games. He started 14 games in center. Guzmán was placed on the injured list April 13 with a right knee meniscus cartilage tear suffered while playing left field the previous day in Tampa Bay. He is scheduled to have season-ending surgery Wednesday. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
