Mon May 20 201322:05Phillippe Aumont gives up two runs in eighth
Phillippe Aumont gave up two runs in two-thirds of an inning mopping up against the Marlins on Monday.
Aumont seems about due for a demotion. His 4.05 ERA still isn't bad, but it's come with a terrible 2.08 WHIP in 13 innings. All he's doing is mopping up anyway; all but one of his 16 appearances has come in a Phillies loss.

Phillippe Aumont has won a spot in the Phillies' Opening Day bullpen.
He beat out Michael Stutes, who will likely be optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Phillies have also announced that Rule 5 pick Ender Inciarte and Humberto Quintero have made the Opening Day roster.

Mon Sep 3 201216:16Phillippe Aumont earns first career save
Phillippe Aumont recorded his first major league save despite giving up a run in the ninth Monday against the Reds.
Jonathan Papelbon had the day off after Sunday night's blown save and loss. Aumont couldn't hack it as a starter, but he has closer potential with his 94-98 mph fastball and sharp curve. It'd be a big lift to the Phillies' chances if he turns into a quality setup man next year.

Mon Aug 20 201222:25Phils call up RHP Aumont from Triple-A
Phillies recalled RHP Phillippe Aumont from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
He'll take the roster spot of Jeremy Horst, who was placed on the paternity leave list Monday. Aumont, who was acquired from the Mariners in the Cliff Lee deal, has a 4.26 ERA and 59 strikeouts over 44 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season, but he has also averaged 6.9 BB/9. He'll likely be used in lower-leverage situations in his first taste of the big leagues.

Fri Nov 18 201112:01Phillippe Aumont added to roster
Phillies purchased the contract of RHP Phillippe Aumont from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Aumont had a nice bounce-back season in 2011, posting a 2.68 ERA and 78/25 K/BB ratio over 53 2/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A. The Phillies have finally given up on the idea of him starting, and he has closer-upside as a reliever. Aumont was one of the key pieces acquired in the Cliff Lee deal during the 2009 offseason.

Thu Jan 13 201115:52Aumont moving back to bullpen
Phillies assistant general manager Chuck LaMar said that prospect right-hander Phillippe Aumont will move back to the bullpen in 2011.
"That's where he's comfortable," said LaMar. "We wanted to start him last year and we did. His results weren't very good. But we put him in that position. I felt bad sometimes for the kid. He wants to relieve. He feels comfortable relieving. That's what he did in Seattle." Aumont was demoted to Single-A Clearwater last season after posting an awful 7.43 ERA and 38/38 K/BB ratio over 11 starts with Double-A Reading. The 22-year-old right-hander was one of the top relief prospects in baseball before coming over in the Cliff Lee trade, so perhaps a return to the bullpen will get his career back on track.

Mon Jun 7 201009:10Aumont demoted from Double-A to Single-A
Phillies pitching prospect Phillippe Aumont has been demoted from Double-A Reading to Single-A Clearwater.
Aumont, 21, was 1-6 with a 7.43 ERA and a 38/38 K/BB ratio in 11 starts for Reading. The Phillies believe they made a mistake by starting him off this season at Double-A, rather than Single-A. Hopefully the lesser competition will help the kid build some confidence and work on his pitches.

Mon Apr 26 201014:07Phillies prospect Aumont goes six hitless
Phillippe Aumont pitched six innings of no-hit ball for Double-A Reading on Sunday.
Aumont, who has returned to starting with the Phillies after the Mariners converted him into a reliever last year, has improved with each outing, giving up four, three, one and now no runs. Overall, he has a 3.32 ERA and a 14/9 K/BB ratio in 21 2/3 innings. He should be able to last in the rotation, but if he's going to help the Phillies this year, it will probably be out of the pen.
