Sat Jul 23 202211:26Logan Webb Excellent On Friday
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb was excellent in a no-decision Friday, allowing one run on five hits and four walks in six innings to the rival Los Angeles Dodgers. He struck out just two batters. Fantasy managers surely expected more than the 103 strikeouts in 123 2/3 innings that Webb has offered this year, but his 2.77 ERA and 1/12 WHIP have more than made up for it. He currently has quality starts in eight consecutive outings.

Webb should get one more start against the Brewers at home before the All-Star break.

Tue May 31 202200:57Logan Webb Pitches Into Ninth Inning Monday
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb nearly went the distance in Monday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Phillies. Webb pitched 8 innings, allowing three runs on four hits (including three solo home runs) and no walks with 10 strikeouts. He entered the ninth inning with a one-run lead but was pulled after allowing a game-tying HR to Kyle Schwarber. Webb now has a 5-1 record with a 3.52 ERA, 50 strikeouts, and 14 walks over 10 starts and 61 1/3 IP. The strikeouts haven't been quite what fantasy managers had hoped for, but this outing was certainly encouraging. Webb will look to rack up more punchouts in his next start at the Marlins.

Thu May 19 202208:58Logan Webb Posts Quality Start At Coors Field Wednesday
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb turned in a quality start at the league's toughest pitching venue, Coors Field, on Wednesday. He pitched seven innings and allowed four hits, two walks and three earned runs while striking out six Rockies. He wound up with a no decision. Through eight starts this year, Webb is 5-1 with a 3.54 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. His strikeout rate is down substantially from 26.5% last year to 17% this year. The strides he made in strikeouts last year helped fuel his breakout 2021 campaign, so he'll likely need to start missing more bats soon to remain a high-end fantasy pitcher.

Fri May 13 202214:02Logan Webb Looking To Rebound In Friday's Start
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb will try to bounce back on Friday after a rough outing his last time around. He'll be pitching against the St. Louis Cardinals, opposite Jordan Hicks. In Webb's last start, he went five innings with seven strikeouts, two walks, four earned runs, and eight hits allowed. The strikeout numbers haven't been there yet, with just an 18% strikeout rate, compared to 26.5% last season. Considering his career strikeout rate is 23%, fantasy managers have reason to believe Webb won't be the same pitcher we saw in 2021. However, the 25-year-old's still limiting walks (5.3 BB%) and owns a 4-1 record with a 3.82 ERA, so he's still providing fantasy value.

Thu Apr 28 202208:47Logan Webb Sitting At 2-1 After Four Starts
San Francisco Giants right-hander Logan Webb is off to a solid start to the 2022 season. He's posted quality starts in three of his four outings and has a 2-1 record to go along with a 2.96 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. Webb had a breakout season in 2021 thanks to his ability to limit hard contact. He allowed a barrel rate of just 5.6% last year, which ranked in the 83rd percentile. Batters also had a minuscule xSLG of .329 against him (87th percentile). Both of those metrics have moved slightly in the wrong direction through the early going this year. He's allowed a 6.5% barrel rate and batters have a .410 xSLG against him. However, he's allowing an average exit velocity of 85.8 mph, which is way down from last year's clip (88.1 mph) so he's still most definitely keeping batters at bay. Webb will look to claim his third win of the year on Saturday, when he'll go up against the Washington Nationals.

Thu Apr 14 202212:15Logan Webb Goes Eight Strong Innings Wednesday
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb became the first player in the majors to pitch eight innings in an outing on Wednesday afternoon, allowing just one run on four hits and no walks to pick up his first win of the season. He struck out eight batters. With just 96 pitches, Webb may have been allowed to finish the game if not for the abbreviated spring training. The Giants have now won 15 consecutive regular-season Webb starts, and it appears his breakout 2021 was no fluke. Fantasy managers should have confidence that he can sustain excellent ratios and strikeout numbers as a borderline SP1.

Sun Apr 10 202211:34Logan Webb Expected To Make Next Start
The San Francisco Giants aren't concerned with starting pitcher Logan Webb's ankle injury, which he sprained covering first base on Friday. Webb may decrease his workload between starts, but he's expected to make his next scheduled start on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed only one run on five hits while striking out three in six-plus innings in his season debut on Friday against the Miami Marlins in a no-decision. The Giants could be a bit more careful with him in his second start next week, but the good news is that this isn't an injury that should cause him to go on the injured list. However, with a possible lower pitch count and against a good Padres lineup, Webb will be a bit more risky in DFS.

Fri Apr 8 202214:30Logan Webb To Be On Soft Pitch Count
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb will be on a soft pitch count on Opening Day against the Miami Marlins on Friday, according to manager Gabe Kapler. Webb might not go as deep into his first start of the season as his fantasy managers would hope for, but you should still be starting him regardless in an excellent matchup. The 25-year-old reached four innings in his final Cactus League game, so fantasy managers probably shouldn't expect him to go much further than five frames on Friday. Webb was excellent in his third season with the Giants in 2021, going 11-3 with a career-low 3.03 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with a career-high 26.5% strikeout rate and a career-low 6.0% walk rate in 148 1/3 innings pitched.

San Francisco Giants pitcher Logan Webb is starting in a minor league game on Saturday in his final tune-up before Opening Day, according to Evan Webeck of The Mercury News. Webeck noted that the plan is for Webb to pitch five innings in his start. The 25-year-old was named as the Giants Opening Day starter earlier in the week and will look to build on his breakout 2021 season. The right-handed hurler put up a rock-solid 11-3 record, 3.03 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 158:36 K:BB over 148 1/3 innings (26 starts). He should be a reliable starter in fantasy leagues this upcoming season.

Mon Mar 28 202221:16Logan Webb Named Giants Opening Day Starter
The San Francisco Giants have officially named Logan Webb the team's Opening Day starter. The 25-year-old right-hander is coming off a breakout season during which he went 11-3 with a 3.03 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. He increased his strikeout rate from just 18.7% in 2020 to 26.5% in 2021. Webb is currently being drafted as a top-20 starting pitcher in fantasy drafts. He's a solid No. 2 starter to target in or around the fifth round. He'll be supported by a strong Giants' lineup and a pitcher-friendly home ballpark in 2022.
