Wed Jul 19 202316:13Starling Marte Absent Again Against White Sox
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (head) will miss another contest on Wednesday against the visiting Chicago White Sox. Marte will miss his second straight game after being scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a migraine headache. He obviously still isn't feeling all that well and will take another day off. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Thursday to see if Marte is back in the lineup for the series finale against the White Sox. Jeff McNeil is getting the nod in right field and is hitting fifth in the lineup against White Sox right-hander Touki Toussaint. Marte is a must-start in fantasy when he's healthy, mostly for his speed on the basepaths. The 34-year-old veteran Dominican is currently hitting .254/.308/.332 with five home runs, seven doubles, a triple, 28 RBI, 24 stolen bases and 38 runs scored in 84 games.

Tue Jul 18 202318:49Starling Marte Scratched From Tuesday's Lineup
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (head) has been scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox. The 34-year-old was pulled out of the lineup due to migraines. This doesn't appear to be a serious issue, so Marte should be back in the lineup after a day or two. In the meantime, Mark Canha will cover right field and bat eighth versus right-hander Lucas Giolito on Tuesday.

Sun Jul 16 202314:46Starling Marte Back In Sunday's Lineup
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (illness) is in the lineup for Sunday's game against Bobby Miller and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 34-year-old veteran was scratched on Saturday while dealing with an illness, but clearly it wasn't serious. Marte has fallen off offensively, slashing .254/.309/.333 with five homers, 37 runs, and 28 RBI. However, his 23 stolen bases keep him relevant in almost every format, and fantasy managers can place the two-time All-Star back in their starting lineup.

Sat Jul 15 202316:47Starling Marte Scratched On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (illness) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was scheduled to bat sixth and play right field, but will end up sitting this one out due to an illness. DJ Stewart will cover right field, while Jeff McNeil is in left field versus right-hander Tony Gonsolin on Saturday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly with Marte sidelined.

Sat Jul 1 202313:33Starling Marte Remains Out On Saturday Against The Giants
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is not in the lineup for Saturday's contest against the San Francisco Giants. Marte was also absent from the lineup for Friday's game so Jeff McNeil is starting in right field in his place. The team should provide some kind of an update on Marte this weekend but there's been no indication that he's injured. Overall, the 34-year-old outfielder is slashing just .253/.305/.329 with four home runs, 24 RBI, and 21 stolen bases over 277 at-bats on the year.

Fri Jun 30 202315:01Starling Marte Resting On Friday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants. He'll get the night off after a rough game on Thursday where he grounded into two double plays. Despite that, Marte is slashing .253/.305/.329 with four home runs. 24 RBI, and 21 stolen bases in 71 games this season. In his absence, Mark Canha will cover right field and bat eighth versus right-hander Alex Cobb on Friday.

Tue Jun 20 202314:22Starling Marte Back In The Two-Hole
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte put together a two-hit game on Monday while scoring twice and driving in one, helping his team blow out the Houston Astros 11-1. He's now batting .295 in June and is sporting a .258/.313/.329 slash line with three homers, 31 runs, 20 RBI, and 19 stolen bases across 66 games this year. The strong month has prompted manager Buck Showalter to promote Marte back to the number two spot in the lineup, as he's batted second for the past five games after batting mostly sixth since May 6. Despite his lack of power, the 34-year-old belongs in almost every format with his speed and the improved counting stats about to come.

Sun Jun 11 202312:31Starling Marte Getting Rest Day Sunday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is getting a breather on Sunday as the team faces the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road. It's a good time for Marte to receive a day of rest, as he's started each of the team's last 17 games. He's off to a good start so far in the month of June, going 11-for-34 (.324) with a double, home run, two RBI and three stolen bases in nine games played. Marte has only three home runs in 60 games on the season, but he's already tied his stolen-base total from a year ago with 18, so his fantasy managers are certainly happy about that. The 34-year-old Dominican is currently riding a very modest four-game hitting streak. Mark Canha is playing right field on Sunday in Marte's absence and is hitting seventh against Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller.

Fri May 19 202316:49Starling Marte To Play On Friday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (hand) is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. The 34-year-old missed Thursday's game after getting hit by a pitch in the hand on Wednesday. It doesn't appear that it was a serious issue as Marte is back in the lineup after a one-game absence. He'll cover right field and bat sixth versus righty Cal Quantrill on Friday. Fantasy managers should make sure to double check their lineups and get Marte back in there for this one.

Thu May 18 202312:12Starling Marte Out With Hand Injury
New York Mets manager Buck Showalter said that outfielder Starling Marte (hand) is out of Thursday's lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays after he was hit by a pitch in the hand on Wednesday. The Mets don't sound very concerned with Marte's injury, even though he was sent for X-rays. With Marte out Thursday, Jeff McNeill will handle right field and hit third in the lineup against Rays right-handed rookie Taj Bradley. The 34-year-old Marte has stolen 11 bases already this season in 39 games, but he's hitting a disappointing .238 (34-for-143) with four doubles, one home run, 10 RBI and 15 runs scored in 157 plate appearances. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day.

Tue May 9 202315:36Starling Marte Hitting Sixth On Tuesday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is starting in right field and is hitting sixth in the lineup against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Luke Weaver on Tuesday. Because he's slumping, Marte will be bumped down to sixth on Tuesday. The 34-year-old veteran Dominican will take a hit in DFS with the move, but fantasy managers should probably be avoiding him anywhere because of his cold spell at the plate. In 30 games (121 plate appearances) so far this year, Marte is hitting just .213 (23-for-108) with four doubles, one home run, eight RBI, nine stolen bases and 11 runs scored. In six games to start the month of May, Marte has gone 4-for-23 (.174) with an RBI, walk and six strikeouts. His only home run came on April 7.

Sun May 7 202314:12Starling Marte Gets Day Off Amidst Cold Spell
New York Mets right fielder Starling Marte is out of Sunday's lineup for the team's series finale against the Rockies. The 34-year-old could use the breather, and perhaps even a demotion from the lineup's two-hole for a bit. The two-time all-star hasn't registered a hit this series (0-for-7), compounding on a trying 7-for-41 stretch over the last two weeks of action. The speedy Marte isn't totally hurting fantasy rosters by collecting nine stolen bases this year, though, and managers hope the rest day can help get him back on track for an upcoming series at the hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park.

Sat Apr 22 202314:27Starling Marte Back In The Lineup On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (neck) is back in the lineup on Saturday against the San Francisco Giants. The veteran outfielder missed the last two games with neck stiffness but is starting in right field and batting second against Giants starter Logan Webb. The 34-year-old Marte is slashing .222/.329/.333 with one home run, five RBI, and seven stolen bases over 63 at-bats this season.

Sat Apr 22 202310:22Buck Showalter Hopeful Starling Marte Will Return Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (neck) missed his second consecutive game in the 7-0 win over the Giants on Friday. He's dealing with neck stiffness, an injury that forced him out of Wednesday's matchup against the Dodgers. However, skipper Buck Showalter, speaking before Friday's victory, was hopeful Marte would return to the lineup on Saturday. It appears the veteran could be back relatively soon, even if it's not on Saturday. But considering he's battled the injury for a few weeks, the team will understandably continue to play it safe, meaning Luis Guillorme may spend more time in the starting lineup.

Wed Apr 19 202322:40Starling Marte Dealing With Stiff Neck
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (neck) left Wednesday's game early against the Los Angeles Dodgers with neck soreness. Marte dealt with a neck injury earlier this month as well, so although it doesn't seem like a serious injury, it could still land him on the injured list. Fantasy managers need to prepare for that possibility. Marte started in right field and went 0-for-3 in the game before being pulled early. The 34-year-old Dominican outfielder is off to a bit of a slow start in 2023, going 14-for-60 (.233) with four doubles, one home run, five RBI, seven stolen bases and eight runs scored in his first 17 games. Hopefully, Marte will be able to return later this week. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Wed Apr 19 202318:29Starling Marte Exits Early On Wednesday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte exited early during Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Marte was replaced by Mark Canha in right field to open up the sixth inning. It's uncertain why Marte was taken out of the game because it didn't look like he suffered an injury. He was 0-for-3 before being taken out, but being hitless on the day shouldn't result in him being benched. The organization will likely give an update on Marte's status shortly.

Tue Apr 11 202315:29Starling Marte Returns On Tuesday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (neck) is back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday against left-hander Ryan Weathers and the San Diego Padres. Marte is starting in right field and is hitting second in the batting order. The 34-year-old veteran suffered a minor neck strain while stealing on Sunday against the Miami Marlins, but the injury only kept him out for one game on Monday. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their lineups in single-year leagues. Marte can do a little bit of everything for you while racking up counting stats near the top of a potent Mets lineup. The two-time All-Star is currently hitting .303 (10-for-33) with three doubles, one home run, two RBI, four stolen bases and five runs scored in 10 games played.

Mon Apr 10 202317:26Starling Marte Out Against Padres
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (neck) is not in the team's starting lineup on Monday for the series opener against the visiting San Diego Padres. Marte will sit out after injuring his neck during a collision on a stolen base on Sunday against the Miami Marlins. The Mets are hoping that the 34-year-old will be available off the bench on Monday night, which means he could return to the lineup on Tuesday. Marte is off to a good start in 2023, going 10-for-33 (.303) with three doubles, a homer, two RBI, five runs scored and four stolen bases in 10 games played. If he can stay healthy, Marte should provide solid counting stats in runs, homers and stolen bases. Jeff McNeil is in right field and is batting third on Monday against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish, while Luis Guillorme is starting at the keystone and batting seventh.

Sat Apr 1 202313:35Starling Marte Taking A Seat On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte isn't in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Miami Marlins. This is just a scheduled day off for the veteran speedster. Jeff McNeil is taking over in right field and Luis Guillorme is filling in at second base. Marte has gotten off to a fantastic start this season, swiping two bags over the team's first two contests. He should be good to go for Sunday's series finale against the Marlins.

Tue Mar 14 202312:10Starling Marte Back In Grapefruit League Lineup
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (head) is returning to the Grapefruit League lineup on Tuesday against right-hander Cade Cavalli and the Washington Nationals. Marte was hit in the head by a pitch in spring action on Sunday, but he avoided a serious injury and will be back in there. The 34-year-old Dominican has played in only two spring games so far while being eased in after having offseason groin surgery. The two-time All-Star was limited to 118 games in his first year in the Big Apple in 2022, and he hit .292/.347/.468 with an .814 OPS, 16 home runs, 63 RBI, 76 runs and 18 stolen bases in 505 plate appearances and 118 games. Marte also dealt with a broken finger, so durability issues are a concern for fantasy managers.
