Wed Sep 22 202119:16Jameson Taillon To Begin A Rehab Assignment On Wednesday
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (ankle) is set to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday. The 29-year-old right-hander has been sidelined since early September due to a partially-torn tendon in his right ankle. If all goes well with his rehab start on Wednesday, we could see him back in the Yankees rotation at some point next week. Taillon has had an uneven first year with the Pinstripes. Over 27 starts, he's gone 8-6 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. He can be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues at this point.

Wed Sep 15 202121:43Jameson Taillon Could Return Early Next Week
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (ankle) is itching to get back into action. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday of his impending return, Taillon said, "There's not too much season left so the sooner the better for me." Taillon landed on the injured list on September 8 due to a partially-torn tendon in his right ankle. On Wednesday, he threw off a mound for the first time since the injury. He wore a brace on his ankle and threw 15 pitches. Taillon told reporters that he didn't feel any issues with his ankle during the short throwing session. It's yet to be seen whether the Yankees also believe that Taillon is ready for action yet. He's worth keeping an eye on for fantasy managers who are desperate for some additional streaming options amidst a thin pitching landscape.

Thu Sep 9 202116:13Jameson Taillon Placed On 10-Day Injured List
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (ankle) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a partially torn tendon in his right ankle. It's not yet clear when he sustained the injury- though it's another blow to a Yankee rotation that is already dealing with injuries to ace Gerrit Cole (hamstring) and righty Domingo German (shoulder). Taillon enjoyed a relatively clean bill of health up until this point, pitching to an 8-6 record, 4.41 ERA with a 136:42 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 138 2/3 innings this season. Manager Aaron Boone said that Taillon received a PRP injection and could return this season. With only a handful of starts remaining, fantasy managers can likely drop Taillon if there are options on the waiver wire.

Wed Sep 1 202110:00Jameson Taillon Allows Six Runs In Loss
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon struggled for a second straight start in Tuesday's loss to the Angels. Taillon pitched six innings, allowing six runs on five hits while walking a pair of batters. The former Pirate struck out six batters and generated a very impressive 20 swinging strikes, 10 of them coming on his fastball. It's a bit strange to see such good underlying numbers paired with bad counting stats, but such was the nature of Taillon's start against Los Angeles, who certainly benefitted from some good batted ball luck thanks to a .333 BABIP. It's frustrating to see Taillon put up back-to-back rough starts, though the swing-and-miss stuff was there, which is encouraging for his status moving forward. Unfortunately, the matchups don't get any easier, as he is lined up to face a tough Blue Jays lineup next. It might be best to leave Taillon on benches for that tilt.

Fri Aug 27 202109:47Jameson Taillon Struggles Against Athletics
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon didn't have his best stuff in Thursday's no-decision against the Athletics. Taillon lasted just 3 2/3 innings, surrendering five earned runs on four hits and three walks. He struck out four batters but managed to generate a solid 11 whiffs. Taillon's fastball, normally his strongest pitch, was hit hard by the Athletics for two homers and an average exit velocity of 100.9 MPH, as the right-hander nearly coughed up the six-run lead provided to him by the Yankee offense. This was a step back for Taillon, as he had allowed three runs or less in each of his last nine outings since the start of July. He'll get a bit of a tough matchup his next time out against the Angels, though fantasy managers shouldn't be afraid to go back to Taillon.

Fri Aug 20 202113:11Jameson Taillon Earns Eighth Win
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon earned his eighth win of the season Thursday, throwing 5 1/3 innings against the Minnesota Twins. He allowed three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out five. Taillon has been very solid all season when he's been healthy, but he's been especially excellent over his last seven games with a 1.99 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings while going 4-0. He's a must-start for fantasy managers at this point until he falters.

Tue Aug 10 202110:02Jameson Taillon Records Second Straight Quality Start
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon turned in another strong performance in Monday's win over the Royals. Taillon didn't factor into the decision, but he blanked the Royals for six innings, allowing four hits and two walks while fanning four batters. He stayed in for the seventh but was pulled after surrendering a leadoff single. Taillon has been excellent since the start of July, compiling a 4-0 record, 1.25 ERA, and a 39:13 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 43 1/3 innings. The biggest difference for Taillon during this stretch has been a drop in his opponent's average exit velocity, barrel rate, and hard-hit rate, which has helped the fly-ball pitcher limit the number of homers allowed, a problem from earlier this season. He'll get perhaps his toughest test yet when he faces off with a fully healthy White Sox lineup his next time out. Taillon pitched five scoreless frames in his first meeting with Chicago.

Thu Aug 5 202100:04Jameson Taillon Whiffs Season-High 10 Batters In No-Decision
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon was masterful despite not factoring into the decision in Wednesday's outing against the Orioles. Taillon tossed 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits. He walked just one batter and struck out a season-high 10, generating an impressive 18 swings and misses on 90 pitches. The righty often utilizes his fastball to great success- and that was no different tonight- though he kept hitters off balance with his secondary pitches as well, accounting for half of his whiffs with the curveball-slider combo. Taillon has lowered his season ERA from 5.74 in June all the way down to 4.04 and is a must-start right now, considering the strikeouts and wins he's providing.

Sat Jul 31 202111:07Jameson Taillon Sharp In Seventh Victory
New York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon looked sharp in his seventh win of the season Friday against the Marlins. Taillon blanked Miami for 5 2/3 frames, allowing five hits while recording five punchouts and two walks. This wasn't one of his better outings from an underlying numbers standpoint- as he only induced nine whiffs and allowed an average exit velocity of 91.2 MPH- but he still found a way to be successful. Taillon has pitched like an ace since the calendar turned to July, recording a 1.16 ERA and 25:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 31 innings pitched against teams such as the Astros and Red Sox. He is lined up to face the Orioles in his next outing, giving him a great chance to keep this rolling.

RHP Jameson Taillon, who dealt with testicular cancer earlier this year, went seven innings in his last start of the year Saturday at Washington. He gave up only one run on four hits and would have been the hard-luck loser had not the Pirates rallied for four runs in the top of the ninth for the win. Manager Clint Hurdle said it may have been the best start of the year for the Florida native, who ended up with a 4.44 ERA. He was 8-7 in 25 starts this year.

On the flip side Monday, he allowed two runs in five-plus innings, with six hits, four strikeouts and one walk. "I actually thought I rebounded pretty well," Taillon said. "Definitely encouraging. A step in the right direction, which is what I'm looking for at the end of the year."

RHP Jameson Taillon had a rocky outing in a loss, giving up six runs and 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings, with one walk and three strikeouts. He singled in each of his two at-bats. In the second, Taillon fielded a bunt but twisted his body awkwardly and stumbled a bit as he turned to make the throw to first. He was briefly seen by a trainer. Taillon hasn't won since Aug. 11. "Frustrating, I guess, is probably the best word," Taillon said. "I felt strong. I felt great. But no one cares how you feel. You've got to go out, get results and get guys out. I feel great, but they were just hitting every single mistake I made." Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle said earlier that Taillon, 25, might be asked to skip his next start or perhaps even get shut down for the rest of the season.

It was a good outing for him. It was fun to see." With two outs in the fifth, Taillon singled to right-center for just Pittsburgh's fourth hit to that point.

He threw 108 pitches, 28 to Reds first baseman Joey Votto, who walked three times against Taillon. "He's a future Hall of Famer," said Taillon of Votto. "He adjusts his game to the pitcher. He choked up on 0-0, like it was 0-2. He wore me out."

RHP Jameson Taillon gave up four runs and seven hits over five innings, with three walks and seven strikeouts, missing a shot at three straight quality starts. Two of the runs he allowed, along with two of the walks, came in the fifth when it was raining. "The weather looked like it was starting to get a little challenging to navigate," Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle said. "It seemed like the more he stayed out there in the rain, the more his execution seemed to tail off some." Even without the rain, Hurdle said he would have pulled Taillon following the fifth.

RHP Jameson Taillon allowed two runs on six hits and a walk in six-plus innings Friday to get the decision in the 4-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. He is 4-1 with a 2.12 ERA in six career interleague starts. He has dual Canadian-U.S. citizenship, although he was born in Lakeland, Fla., and grew up in Texas. His parents are from Ontario. He said that he left more than a dozen tickets for family and friends, while as many as 30 more bought tickets to watch his first appearance in Toronto. "I've got a ton of texts of screen shots of my mom on the broadcast, which is cool," he said.
