Tue Aug 25 201512:39Delmas (knee) placed on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday
Delmas (knee) was placed on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Delmas recently tore hie right ACL for a second time in the past nine months. He was solid for the Dolphins last season, but with a history of knee issues that predates the ACL tears, Delmas is no sure thing to play in the NFL again.
Wed Aug 19 201513:31Delmas out for season with torn ACL
Delmas is out for the season with a torn ACL, the Palm Beach Post reports.
With Delmas -- who missed the end of the 2014 season with an ACL injury -- out of the mix, look for the Dolphins to turn to Walt Aikens or Michael Thomas to replace the void at strong safety created by Delmas' injury.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald relays that initial indications are that Delmas suffered a torn ACL on Wednesday.
Delmas -- who had been working as the Dolphins' starting strong safety -- is slated to undergo an MRI to confirm the diagnosis and if the ACL tear is confirmed, he'd presumably be headed to IR.

Delmas was carted off the field during Wednesday's practice with a right knee injury, Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Delmas has a history of right knee injuries and most recently tore his right ACL this past December, causing him to miss the final stretch of the 2014-15 season. Despite the absence from injury he was still the projected starter but now it looks like Jordan Kovacs could be backing his way into that role during the season ahead.

Dolphins general manager John Hickey said Delmas (knee) will be on the field for minicamp in June, Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Delmas is rehabbing a torn ACL suffered in early December, but the Dolphins' decision to re-sign him on a one-year, $3.5 million contract bodes well for the safety's chances to be ready by Week 1. If healthy, Delmas figures to start at free safety, after recording 61 tackles (50 solo), an interception, a sack, two fumble recoveries and three passes defensed over 13 games in 2014.

Dolphins general manager John Hickey said Delmas (knee) may be ready for full participation by June minicamp, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Despite suffering a torn ACL in early December, Delmas received a one-year, $3.5 million contract from the Dolphins. The team is clearly confident that the veteran safety will be ready by Week 1, with that sentiment echoed by Delmas himself. Still, it's best not to assume Delmas will be ready, given that he'll be just 10 months removed from the injury. If healthy, he figures to start at free safety again.
Fri Mar 20 201513:38Louis Delmas: (Knee) Re-Signs With Miami
Delmas (knee) re-signed with the Dolphins on Friday, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Delmas was a nice addition for the Dolphins in 2014, until his injury woes resurfaced in a major way. He suffered a torn right ACL in early December, leaving him unlikely to be ready for Week 1 of the 2015 campaign. Delmas is a solid starter when healthy, but he averaged just 13 games over his first six NFL seasons. Still only 27 years old, he could re-emerge as a starter at some point in 2015.

An MRI has confirmed that Delmas suffered a torn right ACL on Sunday, Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reports.
According to coach Joe Philbin, Delmas will go on IR, with Salguero adding that the safety (who is on track to become a free agent this offseason) should be ready to go in time for training camp next year. Delmas thus finishes up the 2014 season with 61 tackles and a pick in 13 games.
Sun Dec 7 201420:19Louis Delmas: Dolphins Fear Torn ACL
Delmas (knee) is believed to have suffered a torn ACL, Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reports.
Delmas appeared to suffer a serious injury during Sunday's loss to the Ravens, as he was down on the field for a few minutes. Even if it doesn't turn out to be a torn ACL, he'll likely be unavailable for Week 15. The Dolphins may shift slot corner Jimmy Wilson back to safety, but the team is already hurting for depth at cornerback.

Delmas was carted off the field with a knee injury during Sunday's game against the Ravens, ESPN.com reports.
Prior to suffering his injury Sunday, Delmas recorded three tackles, but at first glance it looks like the safety's availability down the stretch is in jeopardy.
Wed Jun 4 201413:37Louis Delmas feels best he's felt in 4 years
Dolphins FS Louis Delmas said he feels the "best I've felt the last four years of football."
Delmas is coming off his only 16-game season since the Lions took him in the second round of the 2009 draft. He's hoping that by resting his legs more and not going full-throttle 100 percent of the time in practice and offseason workouts will allow him to stay on the field. The Dolphins upgraded on Chris Clemons next to SS Reshad Jones by adding playmaker and big hitter Delmas.

Mon Mar 10 201418:02Fins land FS Louis Delmas on one-year deal
Dolphins signed FS Louis Delmas to a one-year contract.
Per PFT's Mike Florio, the deal is worth a maximum of $3.5 million. Delmas, 27 next month, was released by the Lions in February and was free to sign with any team at any point. Miami had been showing the most interest in Delmas and are replacing free agent Chris Clemons with him next to SS Reshad Jones. We're a bit surprised Delmas didn't land more money after a strong season, but injury concerns likely contributed heavily to him only getting a one-year pact.

Fri Feb 28 201416:55Dolphins host FS Delmas for free agent visit
The Dolphins hosted FS Louis Delmas for a free agent visit on Friday.
It's the third visit on his tour, as Delmas met with the Steelers on Monday and Saints on Thursday. The Broncos and Falcons have also flirted with Delmas. Delmas' presence in Miami may be an indication that the Dolphins plan to part with incumbent FS Chris Clemons, whose contract is up. Delmas is a superior run defender to Clemons, but Clemons is the better center-field safety.

Fri Feb 21 201417:36Lions unlikely to bring Delmas, Burleson back
Lions GM Martin Mayhew said at the Combine that bringing back free agents Louis Delmas and Nate Burleson "isn't a priority."
The Lions haven't ruled out re-signing Louis Delmas at a "reduced rate," but he's unlikely to be back after refusing to take a pay cut prior to his release. Burleson is also fully expected to move on this offseason. "We don't have any plan to bring either one of those guys back where we're waiting a certain period of time where we're going to approach them and try to bring them back," Mayhew said. "But we'll see what happens in free agency."
