Tue Apr 7 201515:08Henderson (suspension) has agreed to contract with Jets
Henderson (suspension) has agreed to a contract with the Jets, the New York Daily News reports.
Henderson was released by the Vikings in February 2014, following two arrests for drunk driving within a span of three months. He was out of the NFL last season, but he seems to be doing much better a year later, and he's only 28 years old. While he still has to serve a four-game suspension, he could eventually help provide depth behind entrenched starters David Harris and Demario Davis

Henderson has received a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, NFL.com reports.
Henderson was released by the Vikings back in February amid two DUI arrests in less than two months. Since then, the linebacker has spent a month in rehab. Now suspended for four games, Henderson's recent troubles could make it hard for him to return to the NFL soon.
Tue Apr 8 201420:14Free agent Erin Henderson went to rehab
Free agent LB Erin Henderson spent a month in rehab earlier this offseason.
Henderson was released by the Vikings after getting arrested for DUI twice in six weeks. He believes he turned a corner in rehab. "When I look back on it, I realize that's not living," Henderson said of his alcohol addiction. "That's not life. ... Life is not meant to just be coasted through." Although Henderson is far from out of the woods off the field, he should get another chance on it. Capable of playing both the middle and outside, Henderson will get a second chance. He turns 28 in July.

Fri Feb 7 201415:23Vikes release LB Erin Henderson, save $2.1M
Vikings released LB Erin Henderson.
Henderson didn't have a bad 2013 season on the field, seeing action at both middle and strong-side linebacker, but has been arrested for DUI twice since November, and cutting him saves Minnesota $2.1 million in salary cap space. Look for Henderson to draw interest in free agency, perhaps from Tampa Bay. He's a scheme fit for Lovie Smith's defense and has plenty of history with new Bucs DC Leslie Frazier. Henderson turns 28 years old this July.

Thu Jan 2 201411:59Erin Henderson popped on DUI suspicion again
Vikings LB Erin Henderson was arrested on suspicion of DUI Wednesday.
It's Henderson's second arrest on DUI charges in the last two months. The first one got him benched to start a game, and former Vikings beat writer Tom Pelissero says the team is likely to release him this time. Henderson was a full-time player in the middle and on the weak side this season, compiling 112 tackles and four sacks in 14 games. He's under contract for $1.95 million in 2014, the final year of his current contract.

Wed Dec 4 201320:21Vikings never wanted Henderson at MLB
Coach Leslie Frazier admitted Wednesday he never wanted Erin Henderson to be the Vikings' starting middle linebacker.
Henderson only got the job because the Vikings missed out on an early-round Mike 'backer in the draft, and Desmond Bishop flopped. "He was moved to the Mike linebacker position, not necessarily because that's what we wanted to do," Frazier said of Henderson. "That was the plight that we were in." Henderson has now been "demoted" to the weak side, with Audie Cole taking over in the middle.

Wed Nov 27 201312:50Erin Henderson won't start against Bears
Coach Leslie Frazier said MLB Erin Henderson will likely not start Sunday's game against the Bears.
It's punishment for Henderson's Nov. 19 arrest on DWI charges. The Vikings are trying to take a hard-line approach with off-field incidents as they've had a rash of them (A.J. Jefferson, Jerome Simpson) of late. Henderson may still play, but it's a dicey situation for IDP owners.

Wed Nov 27 201310:21Erin Henderson was arrested on DUI charges
Vikings MLB was reportedly arrested on suspicion of DWI on Nov. 19.
Henderson was inactive in Week 12 for "personal" reasons. According to the Pioneer Press, he's suing the state to retain his driver's license because he says there was no probable cause for the traffic stop. Henderson blew a 0.11 BAC. His status for Sunday's game against the Bears is unclear. Henderson is currently second on the team in tackles with 93 and he's also picked up three sacks.

Vikings MLB Erin Henderson could miss Sunday's game against the Packers as he tends to a personal issue.
Audie Cole will start if Henderson can't go. It's neutral news for Packers RB Eddie Lacy, as Henderson has graded out as one of the worst interior linebackers in the league in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

Fri Aug 2 201314:17Vikes to keep Henderson at middle linebacker
Coach Leslie Frazier praised Erin Henderson's practice play at middle linebacker on Friday, and now says a position switch to the outside is "unlikely."
Grab Henderson quickly in IDP leagues if you have open training-camp waivers. Frazier said Henderson is "thriving" at Mike 'backer, and "maturing as a defensive leader" while Desmond Bishop has "worked well" at outside linebacker. In all likelihood, Henderson will open the season inside, bookended by SLB Chad Greenway and WLB Bishop. It does remain to be seen whether Henderson will stay on the field for nickel downs, but that's probably a good bet.

Mon Jun 24 201317:51Erin Henderson moving back to the weak side
The Vikings will move Erin Henderson back to weak-side linebacker following the Desmond Bishop signing.
The Vikings are claiming Henderson and Bishop will "compete," but they didn't sign Bishop to man a position he's never played before (weak side). He'll be the Mike 'backer, and Henderson will start at Will and leave the field in sub-packages. Henderson's IDP value was once looking up, but no longer. Look for him to hover around the pedestrian 80 tackles he posted last year.

Vikings LB Erin Henderson is taking all the first-team reps at middle linebacker.
Coach Leslie Frazier had declared an open three-man competition at middle linebacker among Henderson, Audie Cole and Michael Mauti. However, it appears it's Henderson's job to lose. Henderson has played weak-side linebacker and special teams throughout his five-year career.

Tue Mar 12 201321:06Vikings re-sign WLB Erin Henderson
Vikings re-signed WLB Erin Henderson to a two-year contract.
Henderson recorded a career-high 80 tackles and three sacks in 14 games with the Vikings last season. He's also a fine run defender. Minnesota wanted to bring back at least one of Henderson or Jasper Brinkley. It might be wise to move on from Brinkley now and address the middle linebacker spot elsewhere.

Sat Jan 19 201314:32Impending FA Henderson on his way out of MIN?
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune suspects impending free agent WLB Erin Henderson may not want to return to the Vikings in 2013.
The Star-Tribune points out that Henderson, 26, wasn't happy with the organization last offseason when he didn't get a long-term deal, so he's likely looking for comparable money from another team. Minnesota would likely have to overpay to keep him. Henderson excels against the run, but he struggles badly in coverage. MLB Jasper Brinkley is also an impending free agent.

Fri Oct 5 201213:50Erin Henderson returning to starting lineup
Vikings WLB Erin Henderson (concussion) will return to the starting lineup in Week 5 against the Titans.
It's bad news for Tennessee's run game because Henderson is a stout run defender. He'll be a two-down player against the Titans, exiting in favor of MLB Jasper Brinkley in nickel packages. Henderson won't be an IDP asset.
