Jackson (ankle) is listed as probable for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Rams, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.
Nearly four weeks removed from spraining his ankle, Jackson should be fine to serve as Russell Wilson's backup in Week 1. With only two quarterbacks on their roster, the Seahawks clearly aren't worried.

Jackson was able to throw Monday and is considered probable by coach Pete Carroll to be available for the opener against the Rams on Sunday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.
Jackson has been dealing with a high-ankle sprain over the past few weeks but it appears he's healed up just in time to be Russell Wilson's primary backup Sunday. If Jackson suffers a setback for whatever reason, the Seahawks will have to seriously considered adding another quarterback to their roster with no current third stringer in place at the moment.
Tue Aug 18 201513:01Jackson
Jackson, who is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, could be out of practice for at least the next two weeks, the Bellingham Herald reports.
In the wake of Jackson's absence, the Seahawks are searching for an additional reserve quarterback to provide depth in the preseason. R.J. Archer stepped up in Friday's contest against Denver, throwing for 110 yards and a touchdown. B.J. Daniels, who's a reserve wide receiver, has also taken reps as the No. 3 quarterback.

Jackson suffered a sprained ankle in Seattle's exhibition opener Friday that is expected to keep him out about two weeks, the Seattle Times reports.
Jackson is fortunate the sprain is not of the dreaded high-ankle variety. R.J. Archer, who looked erratic Friday, will be the No. 2 QB while Jackson is out. Coach Pete Carroll said the team doesn't expect to bring in another quarterback. B.J. Daniels, who is now a wide receiver, likely would be the emergency quarterback if needed in future exhibition games.

Jackson was carted off the field in Friday's preseason game with an apparent right leg injury, Danny O'Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
Some reports stated that Jackson was favoring his ankle, but the exact nature of Jackson's injury is currently unclear and should be updated later on Friday. However, given that Jackson had to be carted off the field, it is likely serious. R.J. Archer replaced Jackson at quarterback following the injury.
Tue Jun 9 201516:33Jackson resigned with Seahawks on Tuesday
Jackson resigned with the Seahawks on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports 1 reports.
Serving as Russell Wilson's backup in both 2013 and 2014, Jackson was afforded just four appearances, completing 11-of-14 passes for 151 yards and one touchdown versus no interceptions. Expect Jackson to compete with B.J. Daniels and RJ Archer for the gig.

Jackson, who was 5-of-7 passing for 47 yards in Seattle's first preseason game, did not play Friday in the team's second exhibition game against the Chargers.
The Seahawks wanted to see more out of Terrell Pryor and give B.J. Daniels is first taste of action. Daniels has no shot to make the roster, but Pryor could bump Jackson from his backup role. Jackson's steadiness, though, is probably more highly valued over Pryor's potential dual-threat ability.
Thu Mar 13 201401:22SEA brings back T-Jax as No. 2 quarterback
Seahawks re-signed QB Tarvaris Jackson.
T-Jax returns as Russell Wilson's backup. Going on 31, Jackson has attempted only 13 passes since the end of the 2011 season, but has plenty of experience in Pete Carroll's offense. A new deal made sense for both sides.

Thu Feb 27 201422:10Report: Seahawks/T-Jax both want new deal
Profootballtalk reports the Seahawks and free agent Tarvaris Jackson have mutual interest in a new contract.
T-Jax attempted only 13 passes in 2013, but has found a niche as Russell Wilson's backup. Jackson has dialed up over 1,000 career passes, and is still only 31 (in April). A new deal makes sense for both sides.

Mon Jun 17 201309:47Tarvaris the favorite over Brady Quinn?
The Seattle Times considers Tarvaris Jackson the favorite to back up Russell Wilson over Brady Quinn.
As do we. Quinn's draft pedigree is the only reason he's still in the league, while Jackson started 14 games for Seattle and coach Pete Carroll in 2011. Even for a reserve, Quinn is overmatched as an NFL quarterback. T-Jax's skill-set is much more closely aligned with Wilson's.

Tue Jun 11 201320:24Report: Tarvaris Jackson to visit Seahawks
Citing two sources, ESPN's John Clayton reports free agent Tarvaris Jackson will head to Seattle "in the next day or two" to "possibly" sign a contract with the Seahawks.
Clayton writes that "it's not known" how a Jackson signing would affect current Russell Wilson backup Brady Quinn, but we have a pretty good feeling T-Jack would beat out Quinn for the No. 2 job. Jackson was the Seahawks' starter in 2011 and earned the respect of teammates for playing hurt. He'd be an excellent addition as a backup and is very familiar with OC Darrell Bevell.

Tue Jun 11 201313:15'Possible' Seahawks look into T-Jack
ESPN's John Clayton reports "it's possible" the Seahawks sign free agent Tarvaris Jackson to back up Russell Wilson.
Clayton might just be guessing - he often does - but is based in Seattle, and it makes sense on paper. Jackson was the Seahawks' primary starter in 2011, and he'd be an upgrade on current backup Brady Quinn. Quinn lacks the talent for any system, but particularly Seattle's burgeoning read-option behemoth.

Mon Jun 10 201319:05Bills release backup QB Tarvaris Jackson
Bills released QB Tarvaris Jackson.
The Bills start minicamp tomorrow, so they obviously want Kevin Kolb and rookie E.J. Manuel taking all of the reps. Jackson took the first snap from under center at OTAs, but he was never a realistic option to start. Jackson was re-signed to a one-year, $2.25 million contract in February, but none of that money was guaranteed. He becomes the best quarterback on the free-agent market.

Tue May 14 201311:30Tarvaris Jackson gets first snap at OTAs
Tarvaris Jackson got the first snaps as the Bills opened OTAs Monday.
Kevin Kolb was the second man through the rotation and first-round rookie E.J. Manuel was third. It's clearly not worth reading into. Jackson is the "incumbent" as he was in Buffalo last year and Kolb is the veteran. Before long, this will be a two-man duel, with Jackson serving as an innocent bystander. The Bills are undoubtedly hoping the raw Manuel steps up and seizes the job.

Thu Apr 4 201311:19Tarvaris Jackson to settle in as No. 3 QB?
The Buffalo News says it won't be easy for Tarvaris Jackson to rise above the No. 3 quarterback this season.
When Jackson signed a one-year deal with the Bills in February, he was convinced that he'd get a legit chance to compete for the starting gig. But now that Kevin Kolb is in town and the Bills plan to spend an early draft pick on a quarterback, he's on his way to being buried once again. T-Jack hasn't started a game since going 7-7 with the Seahawks in 2011.

Wed Mar 13 201309:17Tarvaris Jackson in line to start for Bills?
Tarvaris Jackson is penciled in as the Bills' starting quarterback right now.
After releasing Ryan Fitzpatrick Tuesday, the Bills are left with Jackson and Aaron Corp at the quarterback position. Considering Jackson couldn't even rise above Tyler Thigpen on the depth chart last year, it's a major concern. Expect the Bills to add competition early in the draft and/or via free agency. As GM Buddy nix said in a secretly recorded phone call this week, "We gotta get one somehow. Bad time to need it."

Wed Feb 20 201308:28Tarvaris deal worth less than initial reports
Tarvaris Jackson's one-year deal with the Bills has a base value of $1.75 million with only $500,000 guaranteed.
It's a far cry from the originally-reported $4.5 million. T-Jack can make $4.5 million if he hits incentives based on playing time, but he could also be cut before the season and Buffalo would only be on the hook for the $500K. Jackson's base salary is $1.75 million. This is the contract of a backup quarterback.
