Tue Oct 6 201513:41Hester (toe) placed on injured reserve/designated to return
Hester (toe) has been placed on injured reserve/designated to return, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports.
Hester missed the first four games of the season, and he won't be eligible to return until Week 13. If he were healthy, he'd likely just the No. 3 wide receiver, albeit with a key role in the return game.
Fri Oct 2 201514:02Hester (toe) ruled out for Sunday's game against Texans
Hester (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
With Hester yet to play this season, Nick Williams and Eric Weems have provided depth behind the trio of Julio Jones, Roddy White and Leonard Hankerson. Once healthy, Hester will likely be the No. 4 wide receiver, in addition to handling punt and kickoff returns. Weems has done a mediocre job as the return man through three games.
Wed Sep 30 201517:04Devin Hester: (Toe) Limited Wednesday
Hester (toe) was limited in practice Wednesday, the Falcons' official site reports.
Hester's return is a positive development, but this could merely be a baby step as he attempts to rid himself of a turf toe injury. Once he's deemed active, he could be contained to return duties, as the Falcons' passing attack has fared well with Leonard Hankerson in a complementary role to Julio Jones.
Fri Sep 25 201513:13Hester (toe) ruled out for Sunday's game against Cowboys
Hester (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
With Hester still out, Leonard Hankerson will continue to work as the Falcons' No. 3 wideout, with the absence of Hester on Sunday more of a hit to the Falcons' return game than it is to fantasy owners.
Wed Sep 23 201516:59Hester (toe) didn't practice Wednesday
Hester (toe) didn't practice Wednesday, the Falcons' official site reports. Head coach Dan Quinn clarified Hester's status, stating, "When he can feel that explosion that he has without the pain, then we'll know we're ready. I'm not going to jeopardize for it to be longer in the injury just to have him back out there. He's such a valuable guy for us, and I want to make sure he's at his best."
Until he returns to practice, Hester should be considered a persona non grata in the fantasy realm. In his absence, Leonard Hankerson has filled in well as the third wide receiver, meaning Hester could assume a primary return role when he's able to take the field.
Fri Sep 18 201516:26Hester (toe) won't play Sunday against Giants
Hester (toe) won't play Sunday against the Giants, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
With Hester still dealing with a turf toe issue, the Falcons top three wideouts heading into Week 2's action will remain Julio Jones, Roddy White and Leonard Hankerson.
Wed Sep 16 201513:25Hester (toe) will not practice Wednesday
Hester (toe) will not practice Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
After missing Monday's season opener against the Eagles, Hester's lingering toe injury, which he suffered in early August, will keep him out of practice once again. More information regarding his practice and game-time status should trickle in as the week wears on so fantasy owners should keep their eyes peeled on his injury designation moving forward.
Sat Sep 12 201513:17Hester (toe) ruled out for Monday's season opener against Eagles
Hester (toe) has been ruled out for Monday's season opener against the Eagles, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Hester has been bothered by a toe injury since early August, and the setback will prevent him from playing in Week 1. With Hester out, Eric Weems and Nick Williams will handle the return duties, and Justin Hardy figures to move up a spot on the wide receiver depth chart.
Thu Sep 10 201513:08Hester (turf toe) won't practice Thursday
Hester (turf toe) won't practice Thursday, but head coach Dan Quinn expects the returner/wideout to play Monday against the Eagles, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
After turning in his most-productive season last year since 2009 -- 38 receptions (on 59 targets) for 504 yards and four total touchdowns -- Hester has been nudged down the depth chart with the addition of Leonard Hankerson in the offseason. Hester's waning relevance as a receiver is accompanied by a turf toe injury, which contained him to two appearances in the preseason. If he takes the field Monday, his contributions will likely occur primarily as a returner.

Devin Hester failed to catch the only pass thrown his way in Friday's game against the Jets.
Hester set-up the Falcons' second touchdown with a 59-yard punt return and, although he seems to be behind Leonard Hankerson in the battle for the third receiver position, the electrifying return man is a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball.
Fri Aug 14 201520:18Hester (toe) will skip Falcons' first preseason game Friday
Hester (toe) will skip the Falcons' first preseason game Friday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
While Hester will attempt to use fall camp and the preseason to overtake Leonard Hankerson for the Falcons' slot role, the veteran won't do himself any favors by missing the first contest. However, there's still plenty of preseason left for Hester to make his mark and earn the spot.
Sun Aug 9 201513:17Hester sat out of Sunday's practice with toe injury
Hester sat out of Sunday's practice with a toe injury, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Reports say Hester will be fine, so the toe injury doesn't seem like it is anything to be worried about. He should soon be an active participant in practice this week and be able to play in Friday's preseason game against the Titans.

Hester (personal) missed Tuesday's practice but is expected to return Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Head coach Dan Quinn deemed the absence "excused," as Hester tends to a personal concern. As the offseason continues onward, it remains to the seen what role Hester will hold in the Falcons' offense this season. After acting as the third wideout most weeks in 2014, the additions of Leonard Hankerson and rookie Justin Hardy could have a negative impact on Hester's production.
Mon Jun 15 201500:27Hester said role in Falcons' new offense up in air
Hester said his role in the Falcons' new offense is up in the air, ESPN.com reports.
Hester was surprisingly useful in his first year with the Falcons last season, catching 38-of-59 targets for 504 yards and two touchdowns, with a touchdown on a rush and another on a punt return. His role under new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is still highly uncertain, as the Falcons added fourth-round pick Justin Hardy and veteran Leonard Hankerson to a receiving corps that's still led by Julio Jones and Roddy White.

Hester caught 38 balls for 504 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
On top of his work as a receiver, Hester returned punts and kickoffs, totaling 1,128 kickoff return yards and 240 punt return yards. He took one punt to the house, and also added a rushing touchdown on six carries. Hester is under contract for two more years, so he'll likely be in a similar role with the Falcons in 2015, but his upside is limited as long as Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas stay healthy. If your league offers points for kickoff or punt return yards, Hester's value gets a noticeable boost. His 1,128 kickoff return yards were the second most of his career.
Mon Dec 22 201416:41Hester caught two balls for 25 yards in Sunday's win over Saints
Hester caught two balls for 25 yards in Sunday's win over the Saints.
Five players saw more targets than Hester on Sunday, but he still has value in a pass-first offense. Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas will all likely get more looks than Hester in Week 17, but since the Falcons are playing in a win-or-go-home contest against the Panthers, expect them to stick to their traditional gameplan and air it out.

Hester had five catches on six targets for 85 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Steelers.
Getting more snaps due to the absence of Julio Jones (hip), Hester scored his first touchdown since Week 4 against the Vikings. Jones is not expected to be out for long, and could return as soon as Week 16 against the Saints, which means Hester's improved fantasy value is likely short-lived.

Hester (wrist) had four catches on six targets for 50 yards Sunday against the Browns.
Hester's 50 yards Sunday marked his highest total since his 70-yard, one-touchdown outing back in Week 4 against the Vikings. With Roddy White and Julio Jones both healthy, along with Harry Douglas, Hester's fantasy potential is limited.
Sun Nov 23 201411:46Hester (wrist) listed as active for Sunday's game against Browns
Hester (wrist) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Browns.
With Harry Douglas back in action these days, Hester now has some added competition for wideout targets that don't go to Julio Jones or Roddy White.
Fri Nov 21 201412:30Hester (wrist) probable for Sunday's game against Browns
Hester (wrist) is probable for Sunday's game against the Browns, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports.
Hester's 34 receiving yards last week against the Panthers were his highest single-game total since all the way back in Week 4. He simply isn't a major component of the passing attack right now, especially with Harry Douglas back to compete for targets.
