Edwards (back) practiced in full Thursday, the Panthers' official site reports.
Clearly, the back concern that resulted in Wednesday's DNP isn't serious, and Edwards' pursuit of opposing quarterbacks, starting with the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger on Sunday, will be unfettered.

Panthers DT Dwan Edwards (hamstring) practiced on Thursday for the first time since Week 2.

Colin Cole has been starting in Edwards' place next to Star Lotulelei. Edwards hopes to play Sunday against the Rams.

Fri Mar 22 201322:05Panthers re-sign DT Dwan Edwards
Panthers re-signed DT Dwan Edwards.
Edwards turns 32 in May, but showed in 2012 that he has gas left in the tank. His six sacks were the most by a Panthers defensive tackle in a decade. Edwards' return gives some credibility to a Carolina interior line that is annually among the NFL's worst. They need to continue to add talent in April's draft.

Fri Mar 22 201315:44Dolphins are hosting Dwan Edwards
The Dolphins are hosting free agent DT Dwan Edwards on Friday.
Edwards has a one-year, $1.5 million offer on the table from the Panthers, but he's looking for more. A penetrating, three-technique tackle, Edwards would be a starter in Carolina. He'd back up Randy Starks and Paul Soliai in Miami.

Tue Mar 19 201312:04No movement between Panthers, Edwards
There has been no movement in negotiations between the Panthers and free agent DT Dwan Edwards.
The Panthers made Edwards a one-year, $1.5 million offer last week. He says he has a two-year deal on the table from another team and is inclined to take it if Carolina doesn't up the ante. Edwards, 32 in May, posted 6.5 sacks as a 4-3 tackle last season.

Thu Mar 14 201314:43Panthers offer DT Dwan Edwards one-year deal
The Panthers have offered free agent DT Dwan Edwards a one-year deal.
Edwards is reportedly weighing "several contract offers," and one team is said to have been a playoff team last year. The one-year offer isn't expected to be enough to woo him back to Carolina, after Edwards recorded 6.5 sacks last season. The Panthers view him as a priority, but they have no money.

Thu Feb 28 201315:48Dwan Edwards would like to return to Panthers
Free agent DT Dwan Edwards says he would like to re-sign with the Panthers.
The Panthers have already reached out to Edwards, so there's mutual interest. The 32-year-old said he enjoyed playing on the interior in the 4-3 after being a 3-4 end earlier in his career. Edwards should come relatively cheap.

Thu Feb 21 201314:10Panthers reach out to free agent DT Edwards
The Panthers have reached out to free agent DT Dwan Edwards about a new contract.
Edwards was Carolina's lone effective interior defensive lineman in 2012, and new GM Dave Gettleman is on board with trying to retain him. Going on age 32, Edwards should not be a highly coveted free agent if he hits the market.

Sat Dec 15 201219:37Panthers rule out DT Edwards for Week 15
Panthers DT Dwan Edwards (wrist) has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Chargers.
Edwards hasn't returned to practice since missing Week 14 and is out indefinitely. The Panthers will also be without Jonathan Stewart (ankle) and Geoff Hangartner (foot) for Sunday's game. Hangartner's absence means the struggling Jeff Byers will make his first start since being benched in Week 11.

Mon Oct 29 201214:41Panthers DT Dwan Edwards has ankle issue
Panthers DT Dwan Edwards suffered a let ankle injury in Sunday's loss, and is sporting a protective boot.
According to coach Ron Rivera, Edwards' status is "uncertain" for Week 9. That would suggest he's dealing with a high-ankle sprain, and highly unlikely to suit up against the Redskins. Edwards has started all seven games this season, but made little impact against the run or in the pass rush.

Sun Sep 2 201214:04Dwan Edwards already a starter in Carolina
The Panthers have already inserted newly acquired DT Dwan Edwards into their starting lineup.
Edwards will play the "three-technique" pass-rushing interior position while bulkier Ron Edwards handles the nose. Dwan has never been a big-time sack guy (career-high 2.5), but it's difficult to imagine him being any worse than what Carolina was previously trotting out. We still recommend targeting the Panthers' defense for fantasy matchup purposes, especially in the run game.

Sun Sep 2 201211:10Panthers signed DT Dwan Edwards
Panthers signed DT Dwan Edwards.
2011 third-round pick Terrell McClain was waived in a corresponding move. Not expected to start and due $4.175 million, Edwards was released by the Bills on Friday. He'll immediately step into a competition with Sione Fua to start opposite Ron Edwards in the team's base 4-3 defense.

Fri Aug 31 201214:58Bills release veteran DT Dwan Edwards
Bills released DT Dwan Edwards.
Edwards is a predictable cap casualty. He was set to cost the Bills $4.175 million against the cap and no longer had a starting role in the new 4-3 scheme. He'll attract suitors as a 3-4 defensive end.

Tue Jul 31 201209:04Dwan Edwards has big-time cap hit
Bills DT Dwan Edwards' $4.175 million cap hit is the eighth highest on the team.
That huge number makes Edwards a prime candidate for release. Given a four-year, $18 million deal in 2010 to play defensive end in the Bills' old 3-4 defense, Edwards is now a reserve defensive tackle in Dave Wannstedt's 4-3 scheme. The odds are slim Edwards will be kept after notching 52 tackles and 2.5 sacks last season.
