Ginn made the most of both of his receptions Sunday against the Buccaneers, finishing with 18 yards and two touchdowns on three targets.

Ginn is known more as a deep threat, but he has had to take on a more diverse role in the absence of Kelvin Benjamin. Even though he had his lowest yardage output of the season, Ginn once again proved himself to be Carolina's top threat at the wide receiver position.

Ginn nabbed four catches off of six targets for 93 yards in Sunday's win over the Saints.

When Kelvin Benjamin went was lost for the season during training camp, the popular question in Carolina was who would pick up the slack. Through three weeks, the answer has been Ginn. Ginn ranks second on the team behind Greg Olsen with 10 catches and 188 receiving yards. His 22 targets also rank second on the team, and are double that of the team's third-most-targeted option, Devin Funchess. Ginn carries the burden of being considered a draft bust, but he has seems to have found a niche in Carolina.

Ginn caught four of his nine targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's game against the Texans. He also racked up 44 yards on four punt returns in the 24-17 win.

While he is primarily a deep threat, Ginn has now been targeted 16 times through two weeks and actually leads the team with 95 receiving yards. The speedster is not a reliable fantasy contributor at the moment due to the inconsistency of the Carolina passing attack, although a few big games could be in the cards if he continues to see targets at this rate. The Panthers will welcome the struggling Saints to town in Week 3.

Gin caught two passes for 54 yards in Sunday's win over the Jaguars. He also added 46 yards in three punt returns.

The speedster could've had a much larger impact on the game, as he was targeted seven times, including several missed deep passes in addition to one 37-yard gain. Ginn will seemingly have a niche as a deep threat in what is a relatively thin receiving corps, but he is far from a reliable fantasy contributor at the moment. Carolina will welcome the Texans to town in Week 2.

Coach Ron Rivera said Monday that Ginn is being viewed as one of the Panthers' starting wideouts heading into their Week 1 matchup with the Jaguars, Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Ginn has historically floundered when given the opportunity to earn meaningful snaps at receiver throughout his career, so it could be a matter of time before second-round rookie Devin Funchess gets a chance to displace him in the starting lineup. In any case, even with Kelvin Benjamin (torn ACL) out of the picture, lead wideout Corey Brown and tight end Greg Olsen figure to be quarterback Cam Newton's primary targets in the passing game.

Ginn will start at wide receiver in Saturday's preseason contest versus the Dolphins, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.

Ginn is getting the first shot to replace Kelvin Benjamin (knee) in the first-team offense. However, Ginn has caught more than 30 balls just four times in his eight seasons, but only once in the last five years.

Ginn caught his only target for a 38-yard gain in Friday's preseason opener against the Bills.

Ginn, Jerricho Cotchery and Philly Brown all got significant work with the first-team offense, after Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said earlier in the week that the team will likely rotate wideouts behind Kelvin Benjamin. He may have played with the backups last night, but rookie Devin Funchess easily has the highest ceiling of the bunch and may earn a key role. Ginn, Cotchery and Brown probably won't get enough targets to warrant consideration outside of very deep formats.

Ginn will sign with the Panthers on Monday, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Ginn was released by the Cardinals on Feb. 23, allowing him to become a free agent and sign elsewhere. It appears that landing spot is in Carolina, where he will give the Panthers added depth at the receiver slot and a threat in the return game. Ginn finished 2014 with 14 receptions for 190 yards in the 2014 campaign, and his numbers will likely turn out similarly ineffective in 2015.

The Cardinals have released Ginn, the team's official site reports.

The move will save the Cards $2.5 million in salary cap space, on the heels of a season in which the wideout/returner caught just 14 passes for 190 yards and zero touchdowns. Ginn's ability as a returner will keep him employed in the NFL in 2015, but it remains to be seen how much work the 29-year-old will see in the passing game with his next team.

Ginn's first season in the Arizona desert likely didn't go as planned, especially after rookie speedster John Brown landed the No. 3 wide receiver gig out of training camp. As the Cardinals' primary return man, Ginn ranked last in the league among qualified kick returners, posting a miserable 19 yards per kickoff. However, he redeemed himself on punts, averaging 10.7 per return, including a game-changing touchdown scamper in Week 2 against the Giants. With two years remaining on his deal, he'll likely continue to hold down return duties, but the 29-year-old's relevance as a wide receiver may have been nixed due to Brown's emergence.

Ginn recorded four receptions (on seven targets) for 61 yards during Sunday's loss in Atlanta.

Ginn was a distant fourth to Michael Floyd (54 snaps), John Brown (54), and Jaron Brown (35) in terms of wideout snaps, garnering 17 himself, according to FOX Sports 910 Phoenix. No matter, the infrequent usage didn't stop Ginn from ranking second in receiving yards, and third in both catches and targets, among Cardinals to haul in a pass. The outburst is likely an illusion, though, as he entered Week 13 with a miserable seven grabs for 111 yards on the season. Throwing another hurdle in Ginn's path is the potential return of Larry Fitzgerald on Sunday against the Chiefs, which could again relegate Ginn to return duties and little else.

A glorified returner at this point in his career, Ginn managed to make a rare impact in the passing attack Sunday. With the Cardinals hanging on to a 14-10 lead midway through the fourth quarter, he gathered in a 27-yard throw down the left sideline and barely tapped his toes inbounds on a somewhat questionable play. Arizona proceeded to establish the final margin of victory on the touchdown drive, as Ginn's day concluded with two catches (on two targets) for 42 yards. The outing marked his most output on the season, but the offseason addition was surpassed in the receiving pecking order by rookie WR John Brown during the preseason, leaving Ginn to gobble up whatever scraps remain as the current campaign has proceeded.

Ginn played 15 of the Cardinals' 70 offensive snaps in Sunday's victory versus the Eagles, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.

Both Ginn and Jaron Brown are buried on the WR depth chart behind Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, and John Brown. Consequently, Ginn, who wasn't targeted Sunday, will remain a return specialist, which is unlikely to change without an injury to the above trio.

Ginn caught one pass (on three targets) for eight yards, rushed one time for four yards, and returned one punt for eight yards during Sunday's win versus the 49ers.

Once again, Ginn was sparsely used in the offense, earning only 13 of a possible 67 offensive snaps, according to FOX Sports 910 Phoenix, which ranked fourth among Cardinals wide receivers. Meanwhile, rookie WR John Brown has wrangled the No. 3 gig, at least, and seems poised to pass Larry Fitzgerald, if he hasn't already, in terms of output. As a result, fantasy relevance isn't really in reach for Ginn for the foreseeable future, barring an injury to the receiving corps.

Ginn took a punt return 71 yards for a touchdown in Sunday's victory against the Giants in New York. However, he earned just 11 snaps on offense, FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.

Prior to the play, the offseason addition hadn't contributed much with the duties entrusted upon him. Nonetheless, in the fourth quarter Sunday, Ginn forced one defender to miss, before hitting a hole and scampering past punter Steve Weatherford for a game-breaking score. Ginn has little to show on offense, though, contributing two receptions (on three targets) for 29 yards through two outings. The primary culprit of snaps, rookie John Brown, should keep Ginn's overall value in check, as the random big play characterizes the veteran's first season in the Arizona desert.

While he matched rookie John Brown's 29 receiving yards, good for second among the 11 Cardinals to catch a pass in the opener, Ginn tied for fourth in receptions (with two) and fifth in targets (with three). It's clear that Carson Palmer's progressions place Ginn far down the priority list, and the latter didn't impress on kickoffs, either, running back three for 49 yards. The free-agent pickup currently sits fourth on the depth chart at wideout behind Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, and Brown, the latter of which received more than double Ginn's snaps with 39. Consequently, Ginn will likely be hit-or-miss in his first campaign in the desert.

Ginn (knee) wasn't listed on the Cardinals' injury report in advance of Monday's opener versus the Chargers, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

Ginn was hampered by a knee concern during the preseason, but even if he was healthy, it's unclear if he would have fended off rookie John Brown for the third wide receiver gig. Expect Ginn's touches to be contained to deep balls and the return game, at last off the bat, this season.

Ginn appears to have fallen out of the third receiver job in the Cardinals' offense, the team's official site reports.

Both John and Jaron Brown have outplayed Ginn through three preseason contests, as he was held without a catch on one occasion and didn't play in the opener. Thus, Ginn's touches will likely be contained to deep balls and return duties, the latter of which he hasn't found much success to date (one kick return for 25 yards and four punt returns for 18 yards). To begin the season, he doesn't hold much value, even after inking a three-year deal with the Cardinals in the offseason.

Ginn (knee) made one catch on two targets for seven yards in Saturday's preseason game versus the Vikings.

Ginn also fielded one punt, but was stopped after a two yard gain. Despite missing a couple practices to begin last week, the wideout was able to make his preseason debut Saturday, albeit with limited impact. Nonetheless, Ginn returning healthy boosts his chances of locking down the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver position and he'll have two more exhibition outings to build on Saturday's performance.

Ginn (knee) may be a game-time call for Saturday's preseason outing in Minnesota, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Sitting out back-to-back practices Monday and Tuesday, Ginn continues to endure a knee injury. If his stay on the sidelines is extended, rookie John Brown could cement the No. 3 receiver role heading into the regular season. However, Ginn will still have two opportunities to display his understanding of Bruce Arians' offense, if he logs another DNP.
