Staley (knee) is probable for Sunday's game against Arizona.
Staley's presence Sunday is reassuring for Frank Gore and the San Francisco passing game. He practiced fully Thursday and Friday, so Staley should be at full strength.
Thu Sep 18 201411:41Staley (knee) limited participant in practice Wednesday
Staley (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, CSN Bay Area reports.
Staley sustained a knee injury last week, but it doesn't seem to be a serious one. His participation in practice today and Friday will paint a better picture of his availability for Sunday's tilt against Arizona.

49ers signed LT Joe Staley to a two-year extension through 2019.
Staley signed a nine-year, $43.66 million deal in June 2009, but the 49ers have decided to reward his perennially dominant play with a two-year extension. One of the game's truly elite blindside protectors, Staley hasn't missed a game since 2009. He turns 30 next month.

Tue Jul 8 201408:5549ers to consider new deal for LT Joe Staley
ESPN 49ers reporter Bill Williamson is "hearing whispers" the team may consider giving LT Joe Staley a new contract.
Staley is signed through 2017, but is vastly underpaid. He's graded out as a top-five offensive tackle at Pro Football Focus each of the past two seasons, checking in at No. 1 overall in 2012. Staley is currently the league's 13th-highest paid left tackle, behind Will Beatty and just ahead of Jermon Bushrod and Michael Roos. His play deserves $10 million annually. Staley turns 30 in August.

Yahoo Sports' Rand Getlin reports the 49ers are considering re-doing LT Joe Staley's contract.
Staley signed a six-year extension in 2009, but he has outplayed the contract and the 49ers are looking to reward the All-Pro tackle. Including the playoffs, Staley has started 56 straight games for the 49ers at left tackle and has been to three straight Pro Bowls. Staley will be 30 when the 2014 season begins.

The knee scope 49ers LT Joe Staley underwent recently was to repair a minor meniscus tear in his left knee.
Meniscus injuries are far less serious than ligament issues. Staley will almost certainly be ready to go when training camp opens in late July. A source told CSN Bay Area that his knee otherwise looked "perfect." Staley, a Pro Bowler in each of the last two years, graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 1 overall tackle last season.

Sat Oct 27 201218:4149ers LT Staley questionable for Monday night
49ers LT Joe Staley (illness) is questionable for Monday night's game against the Cardinals.
Staley hasn't practiced all week, and he's the only Niner in danger of missing the game. San Francisco doesn't have a true back-up at either tackle spot, but veteran Leonard Davis or fourth-round rookie Joe Looney make the most sense to fill in on the line if Staley is forced to miss.

Thu Oct 18 201219:35Niners LT Staley is active versus Seahawks
49ers LT Joe Staley (concussion) is active for Thursday night's game against the Seahawks.
It's notable news because Staley suffered a concussion just four days ago in Sunday's loss to the Giants. He was listed as questionable on the injury report after putting in limited practices this week. Staley's presence is a boost for San Fran's offense against the vaunted Seattle defensive front.

Wed Oct 17 201218:33Joe Staley 'truly questionable' for TNF
49ers LT Joe Staley (concussion) is listed as questionable for Thursday Night Football, and considered "truly questionable" by CSN Bay Area.
It's surprising Staley has any chance of playing just four days after getting concussed, but his presence would be a huge boost against Seattle's fearsome defense. Even if Staley can't go tomorrow, he's now all but assured of returning in Week 8.

Mon Oct 15 201211:34Joe Staley in major doubt after concussion
49ers LT Joe Staley (concussion) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Seahawks.
The Niners' short week leaves Staley in major doubt for Week 7. If the Pro Bowl left tackle can't go, look for Alex Boone to slide over and Leonard Davis to step in at right guard. It's a concern with the Seahawks' fearsome defense on deck.

Fri Feb 3 201216:29Joe Staley allowed six sacks in 2011
STATS Inc. charged 49ers LT Joe Staley with six sacks allowed, but no holding penalties in 16 starts in 2011.
The Niners also averaged 5.2 yards on run plays off left tackle, the NFL's seventh best mark. Quietly, it was Staley's first healthy season since 2008, as he missed 14 games combined during the 2009 and 2010 campaigns. He earned his first career Pro Bowl. There was speculation that the 49ers might eventually move Joe Staley to right tackle after they drafted Anthony Davis in 2010, but it's not happening. Staley will return on the blind side in 2012.
