Williams recorded three tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a defensive touchdown in Sunday's Week 1 opener against the Rams.
Williams had a monster day in his first game in a Seahawks' uniform. He signed with Seattle earlier this offseason after playing in Philadelphia in 2014. Williams isn't considered a popular option as an IDP but he could hold some value playing opposite of Richard Sherman.
Mon Mar 9 201523:44Williams has agreed to deal with Seahawks
Williams has agreed to a deal with the Seahawks, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports.
Williams will be officially eligible to sign with Seattle on Tuesday, although the exact terms of his pending contract have not been made public. The 30-year-old registered 59 tackles and two interceptions during the 2014 season in Philadelphia but will have to earn a spot opposite of Richard Sherman when training camp starts.
Tue Mar 3 201513:27Williams released by Eagles on Tuesday
Williams was released by the Eagles on Tuesday, Phil Sheridan of ESPN.com reports.
The 30-year-old Williams was a 16-game starter for the Eagles each of the last two seasons, claiming five interceptions and 126 total tackles during that time. However, with the Eagles ranking last in 2013 and second-last in 2014 in terms of passing yards allowed, the team will making the secondary its top priority in the offseason, as fellow starting defensive backs Bradley Fletcher and Nate Allen are headed for free agency and aren't expected to be retained. Williams still probably has a place in the league, but he may have to settle for a nickel back role with his next team following his ignominious run as a starter with the Eagles.
Sun Sep 21 201412:31Williams (hamstring) active Sunday against Washington
Williams (hamstring) is active Sunday against Washington, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.
Williams combined for seven interceptions in 2012 and 2013, but until he contributes outside of his nine tackles (seven solo) through two games, IDP owners will look elsewhere for amenable defensive back options.

Williams (hamstring) is probable for Sunday's game against Washington.
Williams was limited Wednesday and Thursday but practiced fully Friday, so he should be at or near full speed for Sunday. With just 76 tackles in his last 18 games, he's generally not a good IDP option.
Wed Sep 17 201419:22Williams (hamstring) limited participant in practice Wednesday
Williams (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, the Eagles' official site reports.
After managing just one solo tackle in the opener, Williams accumulated eight stops, including six solo, in Monday's win at Indianapolis. Because his combined tackle count ranged from 2-to-11 per game last season en route to 67 in a full slate, he's an up-and-down IDP contributor. Expect clarification on his availability as Sunday's contest against Washington approaches.
Tue Jan 7 201408:38Eagles to decide on Cary Williams by 3/16
Eagles RCB Cary Williams' $4.75 million salary for 2014 becomes fully guaranteed on March 16.
By the fifth day of the new league year, the Eagles will have to decide whether or not to cut Williams. All things considered, the 29-year-old didn't have a horrible year. Williams graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 92 corner out of 110 qualifiers in terms of coverage but was targeted the most times. He's also a willing tackler in the run game. The Eagles need safeties more than corners.

Fri Dec 13 201313:32Cary Williams listed as probable
Eagles RCB Cary Williams (hamstring) is listed as probable for Week 15.
Williams was a late addition to the injury report, but he's going to be fine to face the Vikings. Just 86th-of-111 in Pro Football Focus' cornerback ratings this season, Williams has graded out 98th strictly in pass coverage.

Thu Dec 12 201316:21Cary Williams pops up with hamstring injury
Eagles RCB Cary Williams was added to the injury report with a hamstring issue Thursday, getting in a limited session.
Williams was "nowhere to be seen" in the locker room after suffering the injury. Healthy all season, Williams should be considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings. Williams has graded out as the No. 86 cornerback (out of 111) in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

Wed Aug 7 201318:56Cary Williams barely practicing in camp
Eagles CB Cary Williams (hamstring) has made it through just two practices in training camp.
Williams went down on the first day of camp, and has barely practiced since. He aggravated the injury on Wednesday. It's a concern for a team with one of the league's worst secondaries on paper, but Williams should still be ready for Week 1.

Fri May 31 201311:19Cary Williams yet again absent from OTAs
Eagles CB Cary Williams skipped the final day of OTAs on Friday to attend his daughter's recital.
It's just the latest absence for the Eagles' new cornerback, who's also missed time for dental work, "home building" and his wedding. The recital and marriage we understand. His teeth and home, not so much. Williams can't be making a good impression on new coach Chip Kelly, who is preaching competition at every position.

Thu Mar 14 201316:11Eagles add CB Cary Williams to new secondary
Eagles signed CB Cary Williams, formerly of the Ravens, to a three-year, $17 million contract.
The Eagles also signed FS Kenny Phillips, setting up their spanking new starting secondary. Williams will start opposite Bradley Fletcher while Phillips and Patrick Chung handle the safety spots. While Williams was a starter on the Super Bowl champion Ravens and posted four interceptions along with 17 pass deflections, he struggled mightily while under the microscope. During the regular season, opponents threw for 1,000 yards, six touchdowns, and a 91.6 quarterback rating while targeting Williams. This shouldn't stop the Eagles from considering Alabama CB Dee Milliner at No. 4 overall.

Fri Mar 8 201320:11Pagano is a 'big fan' of free agent Williams
According to the Indianapolis Star, Colts coach Chuck Pagano was a "big fan" of free agent CB Cary Williams when Pagano was on Baltimore's staff.
Pagano coached Baltimore's secondary from 2008-2010 and coordinated the defense in 2011. Williams was roasted in coverage too much for our liking last season, but we can see the appeal because he's under 30 and blessed with ideal cornerback size. The Colts certainly have the salary cap space to land Williams.

Sun Mar 3 201312:00Colts will 'probably' pursue Cary Williams?
The Baltimore Sun says the Colts will "probably" pursue free agent CB Cary Williams.
Williams isn't going to be back with the Ravens, and landing in Indianapolis with his former defensive boss, Chuck Pagano, makes a ton of sense. The Colts are really weak in the defensive backfield, and pairing Williams with Vontae Davis would make a capable duo. In January, Williams thought he might be worth $8-10 million annually, but there's no chance he gets that kind of money.

Wed Feb 27 201320:22Ravens to allow Cary Williams to test market
The Baltimore Sun says the Ravens are expected to allow free agent CB Cary Williams to hit the open market.
This has been the thinking all along since the season ended. Williams wants a ton of money, and his agent expects him to "very much be wanted by many teams." Baltimore has plenty of capable in-house replacements, and Williams isn't expected back. He has a knack for giving up the big play, and some team may overvalue him in free agency.

Wed Feb 20 201319:14Ravens set to meet with Cary Williams' rep
The Ravens plan to touch base with free agent CB Cary Williams' representation at the Combine.
"The ultimate goal, if possible, is for Cary is to stay a Raven," Williams' agent said. "It's tough terrain with them because of their cap situation and them having to pay their quarterback. If it doesn't work out with Baltimore, I think Cary has elevated his game and himself. ... I'm expecting him to very much be a wanted man by teams." Both the Baltimore Sun and Carroll County Times expect Williams to walk in free agency.

Mon Feb 11 201313:37Ravens: Flacco is only franchise candidate
The Ravens have stated adamantly that Joe Flacco is their only candidate for the franchise tag.
In other words, the Ravens won't be tagging CB Cary Williams or OLB Paul Kruger if they hammer out a deal with Flacco. The franchise deadline is March 4, and we suspect Flacco will be affixed with the pricey, one-year, guaranteed tender just ahead of that date. Williams and Kruger are likely headed for the open market.

Sat Feb 9 201315:41Cary Williams not expected to be re-signed
The Carroll County Times says impending free agent CB Cary Williams is not expected to be re-signed.
The Ravens are expected to try and re-sign Williams, but he'll undoubtedly find more money on the open market than Baltimore will be able to offer him. The Ravens have a couple of capable in-house corners that can replace Williams on the right side in Corey Graham, Chykie Brown, and former first-rounder Jimmy Smith. LCB Lardarius Webb is also set to return from a torn ACL. Williams is said to be seeking upwards of $8 million annually.

Tue Jan 22 201313:36Ravens not expected to buck up for Williams
The Baltimore Sun expects the Ravens to "try to keep" impending free agent CB Cary Williams, but says Williams might get more on the open market than Baltimore is willing to offer.
Beat writer Mike Preston points to the salary cap as an issue, as well as the improved play of Chykie Brown and Corey Graham coupled with Lardarius Webb set to return from a torn ACL in 2013. Baltimore also has former first-round pick Jimmy Smith waiting in the wings. It's been reported that Williams believes he's worth $8-$10 million per year on the open market, but we don't see him attaining that.
