Fri Sep 4 201518:40The Bears plan to terminate Rosario's contract
The Bears plan to terminate Rosario's contract, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
With that, it looks like the Bears plan to roll with the likes of Zach Miller, Khari Lee and Bear Pascoe as reserve tight ends behind starter Martellus Bennett.
Thu Mar 19 201516:18Rosario re-signed with Bears on one-year contract
Rosario re-signed with the Bears on a one-year contract, ESPN's Jeff Dickerson reports.
Rosario caught 16-of-22 targets for 116 yards and no touchdowns in 2014, working as the No. 2 tight end behind Martellus Bennett. Rosario will likely face competition to keep the same role, as Zach Miller (foot) is expected to return from an injury that cost him his entire 2014 campaign.

Rosario reeled in 16 of 22 targets for 116 yards and no touchdowns during the 2014 season.
Rosario was active for all 16 games and logged a reception in all but three contests, but with Martellus Bennett entrenched as the starter, there wasn't much of an opportunity for him to take on a featured role in the passing game. He'll become a free agent this summer, but none of the 32 teams probably envision him as much more than an experienced depth option at tight end at this point in his career.

Rosario reeled in one of his two targets for four yards in Monday's loss to the Saints.
Despite being active all season, Rosario has caught more than one pass in just two games and has never seen more than 30 snaps in any week. His limited involvement offensively isn't likely to change over the Bears' final two games.
Tue Dec 9 201409:28Rosario held without reception in each of Bears' last two games
Rosario has been held without a reception in each of the Bears' last two games.
Rosario typically hadn't been targeted more than one or two times per game for most of the season, so it's not particularly surprising that he's been held out off the scoresheet the last couple weeks. He only has 12 receptions for 86 yards and no touchdowns in 13 games this season.

Rosario reeled in one pass for three yards in Sunday's 55-14 loss to the Packers.
Martellus Bennett (ribs) ended up suiting up Sunday after entering the game with a questionable tag, negating any chance Rosario had of seeing a sharp increase in snaps. He'll remain relegated primary to blocking when he enters games, mostly in two tight end scenarios.

Rosario caught one pass for six yards and was also on the receiving end of a successful two-point conversion attempt in Sunday's loss to the Patriots.
The two-pointer marked the first time Rosario found the end zone in any capacity this season, but he'll continue to struggle to attain fantasy relevance while Martellus Bennett dominates the tight end snaps for the Bears.

Rosario nabbed two passes for 15 yards in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, but fumbled the ball away after one of his catches.
It's not often that Rosario's production exceeds that of Alshon Jeffery (two catches, nine yards), but that's exactly what happened Sunday. That probably is more of an indictment of the Bears' offense than an endorsement of Rosario, who brings his greatest utility as a blocker.
Tue Oct 14 201420:44Rosario didn't log target in Sunday's win over Falcons
Rosario didn't log a target in Sunday's win over the Falcons.
Rosario's three-catch, 20-yard performance in Week 5 will probably go down as the high point in his season, as the few snaps he does receive often come on running plays. He's no threat to cut into starting tight end Martellus Bennett's workload.

Rosario caught a season-high three passes for 20 yards in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Surprisingly, Rosario saw only one fewer target on the afternoon than both Brandon Marshall and Martellus Bennett, but that may have been a byproduct of the heavy pressure quarterback Jay Cutler faced all afternoon against the Panthers' front four. Rosario represents little more than a safety valve in the passing game, and probably won't emerge as anything more than a third or fourth receiving option when he happens to be on the field.

Rosario caught one pass for eight yards in Monday's win over the Jets.
Rosario has caught a pass in each of the Bears' three games, but he isn't in line for an increase in targets anytime soon. He'll merely enter the game to spell Martellus Bennett on occasion, and whenever that occurs, he won't rank as a top option in the receiving game for Jay Cutler.
Tue Sep 16 201405:13Rosario caught one pass for nine yards in Bears' Week 2 victory ...
Rosario caught one pass for nine yards in the Bears' Week 2 victory over the 49ers.
Rosario has caught two passes to Matthew Mulligan's none through the first two weeks of the season, but both players are mostly afterthoughts offensively behind Martellus Bennett at tight end. Only expect either player to see the field when Bennett needs a breather.
Sun Sep 7 201420:19Rosario nabbed one pass for 12 yards in Sunday's loss to Bills
Rosario nabbed one pass for 12 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bills.
Rosario matched essentially all of his receiving output in Sunday's contest from a season earlier, when he caught one pass for 13 yards. Still, given how many mouths there are to feed in the Bears' stacked receiving corps, counting on Rosario for more than a reception or two per game is probably asking too much.
Tue Aug 19 201410:43Rosario (calf soreness) returned to practice Monday
Rosario (calf soreness) returned to practice Monday, ESPN Chicago's Michael C. Wright reports.
Rosario sat out last Thursday's preseason win over the Jaguars with the injury, but still could hold the upper hand in the derby for the Bears' backup tight end spot. He's proven capable as both a blocker and a pass-catcher in the past, attributes that may be enough for him to beat out fellow competitors Matthew Mulligan and Jeron Mastrud.
Thu Mar 13 201417:27Bears bring back TE Dante Rosario
Bears re-signed TE Dante Rosario.
Rosario was originally signed two weeks ago, then released on Monday. Presumably, the run blocker will now remain on the roster through the rest of the offseason program.

Mon Mar 10 201417:07Bears release TE Dante Rosario
Bears released TE Dante Rosario.
The move is a head scratcher not because Rosario is a difference maker on the field, but because the Bears re-signed him to a one-year contract in late February. A special teamer and run blocker, Rosario figures to resurface elsewhere as a No. 3 tight end. He's stretched at No. 2 on a depth chart.

Thu Feb 27 201417:37Bears keep TE Dante Rosario on one-year deal
Bears re-signed TE Dante Rosario to a one-year contract.
Acquired from the Cowboys last September, appeared in 15 games. He caught only one pass, but was an asset as a blocker. 68 of his 186 snaps came as a run blocker. That will remain Rosario's role during his age-30 season.

Cowboys traded TE Dante Rosario to the Bears in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.

Mon Jun 3 201313:30Cowboys sign Dante Rosario
Cowboys signed TE Dante Rosario, formerly of the Chargers.
Rosario, 28, served as San Diego's third tight end behind Antonio Gates and Randy McMichael last year, catching ten passes for 95 yards and three touchdowns. He chipped in five special teams tackles. Rosario will compete for a roster spot in Dallas. Jason Witten, James Hanna, and second-round pick Gavin Escobar are the Cowboys' top three tight ends.

Fri May 31 201317:40Cowboys workout TE Rosario
The Cowboys worked out TE Dante Rosario, formerly of the Chargers.
Dallas already has Jason Witten, James Hanna and rookie Gavin Escobar on the roster, so they're likely just performing due diligence. Rosario is primarily a special teamer and situational tight end with good athleticism, but has never been consistent on the field.
