Sun Sep 27 2015 | 15:09 | Wake active Sunday against Bills |
Wake is active Sunday against the Bills. |
Having Wake on the field will help the Dolphins try to contain Tyrod Taylor, especially when trying to keep him in the pocket. |
Thu Sep 24 2015 | 22:06 | Wake (hamstring) has practiced Wednesday and Thursday |
Wake (hamstring) has practiced Wednesday and Thursday, reports Miami Herald's Armando Salguero. |
Wake was only on the field for 15 plays in Sunday's loss to Jacksonville but the fact that he is practicing in full this week would seem to indicate that he should be in line for a full day's work against Buffalo this week. |
Sun Sep 20 2015 | 14:57 | Wake (hamstring) active for Sunday's game against Jaguars |
Wake (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. |
Wake's presence boosts the Dolphins' Week 2 pass rush, but he had a quiet Week 1, failing to recored either a tackle or a sack against Washington. |
Fri Sep 18 2015 | 21:39 | Wake questionable for game Sunday due to hamstring injury |
Wake is questionable for the game Sunday due to a hamstring injury, according to the Miami Herald. |
Wake was able to practice on a limited basis Friday so that bodes well for his chances of playing Sunday although he may only participate on passing downs. |
Sun Jan 4 2015 | 21:19 | Wake had 36 tackles and 11.5 sacks during 2014 season |
Wake had 36 tackles and 11.5 sacks during the 2014 season. |
While the sack total looks impressive, Wake also disappeared at times. This may not be all on Wake however as the Dolphins struggled to find someone else who could also pressure the opposing quarterbacks, thus allowing offenses to double and triple team Wake at times. If the Dolphins can remedy this problem next season then Wake should once again go back to being close to a sack a game player. |
Sun Dec 21 2014 | 23:10 | Wake had two sacks in Miami's 37-35 win over Minnesota on Sunday |
Wake had two sacks in Miami's 37-35 win over Minnesota on Sunday. |
Wake had been quite of late but woke up Sunday to post his best game in over a month. The game was also beneficial to Wake's bank account as hitting 10-plus sacks this year triggered a bonus that will pay him an additional $750K bonus. |
Mon Nov 10 2014 | 00:47 | Wake had two sacks in Miami's last minute loss to Detroit on Sun... |
Wake had two sacks in Miami's last minute loss to Detroit on Sunday. |
The sacks were Wake's only tackles of the game. Wake is still an elite pass rusher but unfortunately for the Dolphins he wasn't able to get to Matthew Stafford as the quarterback led the Lions on a last minute touchdown drive to win the game Sunday. |
Sun Sep 7 2014 | 19:49 | Wake had two sacks and three tackles in Miami's victory over Pat... |
Wake had two sacks and three tackles in Miami's victory over the Patriots on Sunday. |
Wake can be a quarterbacks worst nightmare when he is on his game. He will be a strong candidate to lead the NFL in sacks this season, especially if the Dolphins can find a pass rusher opposite him to keep opposing offenses honest. |
Fri Feb 28 2014 | 15:26 | Dolphins could deal Wallace and Wake, too |
Citing "numerous" league sources and NFL executives, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Dolphins "might also be open to dealing" Cameron Wake and Mike Wallace. |
If La Canfora's sources are to be trusted, the Dolphins are open to a full-on firesale under rookie GM Dennis Hickey, as 2013 No. 3 overall pick Dion Jordan is also said to be available. Miami would absorb an over-$5 million cap penalty to deal Jordan, but would clear room by trading Wallace and/or Wake. (No one is going to trade for Wallace's mammoth contract, of course.) La Canfora's story, accessible at the link below, indicates Hickey intends to invest heavily in the talented 2014 draft, and is willing to part with big-name players in order to load up on picks. Ex-GM Jeff Ireland's 2013 offseason "master plan" blew up tremendously during the regular season, and looks worse and worse by the day. |

Fri Oct 18 2013 | 19:32 | Cameron Wake listed as probable |
Dolphins LE Cameron Wake returned to a full practice Friday and is listed as probable for Week 7. |
He's all systems go coming off a Week 6 bye. Wake is Miami's best pass rusher and one of the top-five defensive ends in football. His return bodes poorly for Buffalo's Thad Lewis-quarterbacked offense in Week 7. |

Sat Sep 28 2013 | 15:27 | Cameron Wake (knee) questionable for MNF |
Dolphins LE Cameron Wake (knee) practiced on a limited basis Saturday and is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Saints. |
Wake suffered a sprained MCL last week, but has yet to be ruled out for Monday Night Football and is expected to be a game-time decision. If Wake can't go, rookie Dion Jordan will make his first career start. |

Thu Sep 26 2013 | 17:35 | Cameron Wake could play in Week 4 |
Dolphins LE Cameron Wake (knee) was limited in Thursday's practice, and has yet to be ruled out for Monday Night Football. |
An erroneous initial report pegged Wake as week to week, but he's more day to day. Wake is hoping to play on passing downs against the Saints. With as much defensive line depth as any team in the league, the Dolphins could opt to hold Wake out for one week in an effort to get him closer to full health for Week 5. |

Mon Sep 23 2013 | 16:28 | Report: Cameron Wake (knee) out 2-3 weeks |
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Dolphins LE Cameron Wake (knee) will likely miss 2-3 weeks. |
We usually don't post "reports" from the Sun-Sentinel because its football coverage is the least reliable in the nation, but several other media outlets have ran with this story. We'd just take it with a grain of salt. At one point in the "report", it's written Wake could miss "at least a week or two," and later it states Wake will "likely" be sidelined "two to three weeks." CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported earlier Wake has a "mild" MCL sprain, and is seen more as day to day. If Wake misses any time, it will be a significant blow to Miami's edge rush. The Fins travel to the Superdome in Week 4. |

Mon Sep 23 2013 | 15:08 | Report: Cameron Wake has 'mild' MCL sprain |
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Dolphins LE Cameron Wake has been diagnosed with a "mild" MCL sprain. |
Even a "mild" MCL sprain could cost Wake multiple games, but it's still good news. Wake missed the final three quarters of Sunday's win over the Falcons, and should be considered doubtful for next Monday's showdown with the Saints for the time being. Wake has 2.5 sacks through his first three games. |

Tue Jul 16 2013 | 11:09 | Cameron Wake to play everywhere for Miami |
Defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle said he wouldn't trade DE Cameron Wake "for anybody in our league." |
Wake went undrafted out of Penn State in 2009 and remains in the shadows of the game's best pass-rushers. It's unfair. Over the last three years, Wake has 37.5 sacks, 152 tackles and six forced fumbles. He's our No. 2 defensive lineman in the IDP ranks, ahead of Jason Pierre-Paul and behind only J.J. Watt. |
