Mon Aug 20 201217:00Lions waive DB Carey and TE Overbay
Lions waived/injured DB Don Carey and TE Nathan Overbay.
A special teamer and reserve defensive back, Carey appeared in five games last season, making 11 tackles. He appeared in 15 games for the Jaguars in 2010, making 10 starts. Getting cut at this stage of camp bodes poorly for Carey's NFL future, but his experience should keep him on the radar. A third-year pro, Overbay has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Thu May 13 201010:54Carey, Starks competing for nickel job?
Don Carey and Scott Starks are the leading contenders for the Jaguars' nickel back job, according Vic Ketchman of the team's official site.
Rashean Mathis and Derek Cox form an up-and-coming starting corner duo, but the depth in the secondary has to be a major concern. Starks is always hurt and Carey is a project out of Norfolk State.
