Mincey's return from a one-week absence should help a Dallas defense that struggled badly against the Falcons last week, but a Sunday night game at the Superdome may still prove rather difficult. With just 40 tackles and six sacks in 18 games since the beginning of last season, Mincey does not warrant IDP consideration.

The Cowboys struggled in his absence last week, getting steamrolled by Atlanta's Devonta Freeman and Julio Jones. With four tackles and no sacks through two appearances, Mincey isn't a reasonable IDP option.

Mincey's role figures to be greatly diminished in 2015 though with DeMarcus Lawrence healthy, Greg Hardy's suspension reduced to four games and rookie Randy Gregory also looking for snaps in pass-rush situations, so he's not exactly in a great bargaining position.

He led the Cowboys with six sacks in 2014 and didn't miss any games, so this news is a little surprising. Mincey should still be an important cog in the team's defensive line rotation next season.

Entering his age-31 season and tallying just five sacks the past two seasons, Mincey will compete for a reserve role. Maybe DL guru Rod Marinelli can help coax a big year out of Mincey like he did with penciled-in starter George Selvie last season.
