Casillas (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against Minnesota, FOX Sports 1's Jenna Laine reports.
Casillas was a limited practice participant all week, so he should have a decent chance of suiting up. Even if he does, though, he's unlikely to be more than a rotational linebacker.

Casillas was not with the Buccaneers during their preseason game against the Bills on Saturday due to disciplinary reasons, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The exact reason why Casillas was a non-participant Saturday is still unclear, however, it doesn't seem like it will affect his status for the start of the regular season. Last year, he provided Tampa Bay with 34 tackles before suffering a season-ending knee injury with four weeks left on the schedule.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the Bucs would like to re-sign free agent LB Jonathan Casillas, but have only had "preliminary" talks.
A knee injury limited Casillas to 12 games and 199 defensive snaps last season. He shouldn't be expensive if the Bucs want to lock him up before the start of free agency on March 11.

Fri Jun 14 201314:09Casillas, Watson competing at SAM 'backer
Jonathan Casillas and Dekoda Watson are competing for the Bucs' starting strong-side linebacker job.
There's no mention of Adam Hayward. Watson is an interesting candidate because he was such a good blitzer at Florida State, and the Bucs will be able to blitz a lot more with Darrelle Revis in the secondary. Casillas still might be a superior option based on experience and cover skills at SAM 'backer.

Wed Mar 13 201319:13Bucs sign Jonathan Casillas
Bucs signed LB Jonathan Casillas to a one-year, $3 million contract.
The deal is worth "up to" $3 million, so it's probably incentive laden. Bucs GM Mark Dominik loves stealing from division rivals, and 26-year-old Casillas has flashed every-down tools in spurts the past four seasons. In 2012, he was the Saints' nickel 'backer and recorded 31 tackles in 14 games with one start.

Casillas played 256 snaps at outside linebacker last season, but may no longer be a fit in New Orleans with the Saints shifting to a 4-3 defense. Casillas is injury prone, but appeared in 14 games in 2012. Going on 26, he could draw some interest in the second wave of free agency.

The Saints are saving $667,000 by tendering Casillas at the original-round level instead of the second-round level, but will receive no draft-pick compensation if he signs elsewhere and they choose not to match.
