Coleman posted nine tackles (five solo) during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Texans.
Coleman tied linebacker Thomas Davis for the Panthers' team-lead in tackles Sunday, which followed his just three stops in Week 1. After winning Carolina's starting free safety position during the preseason, Coleman's IDP stock is on the rise, particularly after a performance like Sunday's.
Mon Mar 16 201511:41Coleman signed two-year deal with Panthers on Monday
Coleman signed a two-year deal with the Panthers on Monday.
Coleman will reunite with his former defensive coordinator, Sean McDermott, who coached him as a rookie in 2010. He was forced into action for some games last season after Eric Berry was lost to health issues, and played well in the role, recording three picks and a forced fumble, adding 37 tackles (34 total). He could compete for a starting spot alongside Roman Harper, but should also be a big contributor on special teams.

Coleman sealed Sunday's game against the Chargers by intercepting Phillip Rivers with less than ten seconds left in the game.
Coleman only played limited snaps defensively Sunday (23 of 52), but managed to come up with an interception. With Eric Berry due back in the near future, it's likely Coleman's snaps will drop even more in the future despite his performance Sunday.

Coleman was released by the Vikings over the weekend, but will now be reunited with former coach Andy Reid in Kansas City. A seventh round pick of the Eagles in 2010, Coleman is two years removed from a career-best 93 tackles (70 solo) and could immediately compete with Husain Abdullah for playing time at free safety.

Coleman had three total tackles and an interception in Friday's preseason win over Oakland.
Coleman started at strong safety with Robert Blanton (hamstring) and Jamarca Sanford (back spasms) hurt and Chris Crocker not playing since he just signed with the team. Coleman's strong performance could put him into the mix to start at strong safety, but he more likely works in a reserve role if he makes the team.
Fri Jul 18 201411:36Kurt Coleman not projected to make Vikings
ESPN Vikings reporter Ben Goessling doesn't project S Kurt Coleman to make the 53-man roster.
Coleman is merely a special teams player, but he's a fine one at that. Goessling has the Vikings keeping third-year S Robert Blanton and sixth-round rookie Antone Exum over Coleman. Blanton got some run with the first-team defense next to Harrison Smith during the spring, while Exum is a hybrid corner/safety.

Eagles S Kurt Coleman played cornerback in Thursday's preseason finale.
A reserve safety and special teamer, added versatility could only help Coleman's roster chances. Nevertheless, it would be a disaster if Coleman ever had to step in at corner during the regular season. He was completely overwhelmed in coverage last season.

Tue Dec 4 201210:57Kurt Coleman dealing with rib bruise
Eagles S Kurt Coleman has been diagnosed with a cartilage bruise in the sternum and rib area.
This should be the last straw for Coleman as a starter. Even if he's active for the final four games, the Eagles would be wise to see what David Sims can do in a starting role. We know that Coleman doesn't have the talent to handle the job and the Eagles are expected to make safety a priority this offseason.

Mon Dec 3 201200:21Kurt Coleman's (sternum) X-rays negative
Eagles S Kurt Coleman was forced from Philadelphia's Week 13 loss to the Cowboys with a bruised sternum, but X-rays came back negative.
He'll undergo an MRI on Monday. Coleman took a hard fall in the fourth quarter, and remained down for several moments before being escorted to the locker room. He had the looks of a player who will be out for Week 14, which would be unwelcome news for Philly's horrendous secondary.

He had 78 tackles, four interceptions, five pass breakups and one forced fumble last year. Three of those picks came in Week 6 against the Redskins.

Eagles placed S Kurt Coleman (biceps) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Coleman appeared in all 15 games for the Eagles this season, starting 13 of them and compiling 54 tackles, four interceptions and one forced fumble. He was benched early in the year in favor of Nate Allen, but regained a starting role when rookie Jaiquawn Jarrett struggled. Coleman figures to be back in 2012, but the Eagles desperately need to upgrade their safeties.
