Galette sustained a torn Achilles on Wednesday, Dianna Marie Russini of ESPN reports.
Less than a month into his tenure with Washington, Galette's season will be wiped away due to injury. No matter, the team holds the right-of-first-refusal on the pass rusher, meaning they'll likely keep him around with the hope that his explosiveness doesn't dwindle or disappear entirely.

Galette suffered a possibly serious Achilles injury at practice Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
Although there is no official word yet on the severity of Galette's injury, speculations have been negative. If it's as serious as it sounds, the pass rusher's debut as a Redskin could be delayed. Washington has a solid linebacker corps led by Ryan Kerrigan, but would take a hit if Galette, who has had 22 sacks over the last two seasons, misses any time with the injury.

Galette (chest) may see some reps in Saturday's preseason game, the Washington Post reports.
Galette has been taking full reps in practice the last week. The team has been easing Galette back into game action. He should be ready for the start of the regular season.
Mon Aug 17 201509:32Galette (chest) has increased activity in camp
Galette (chest) has increased his activity in camp, the Washington Post reports. He has been playing primarily on third downs.
He's currently behind Trent Murphy on the depth chart but that's likely due to the team easing him back into action. He has shown nice explosion and the ability to reach the quarterback in practice. Expect him to see more action as the regular season approaches.

Galette is still recovering from a left pectoral injury from the offseason, the Washington Post reports.
Galette claims he's about 75% but would be able to play if there was a game this week. He is being limited during training camp to prevent a setback.

Galette (chest), who signed a one-year contract with the Redskins on Friday, will participate in Saturday's practice.
Galette's pectoral injury is apparently a non-issue, even though it was once feared (back in May/June) that he tore the muscle. The Redskins said he'll have to compete for a starting job, but given his performance the past few years, it's hard to imagine he won't win the competition. The team has a very promising group of outside linebackers, with Galette and Ryan Kerrigan supported by second-round rookie Preston Smith and 2014 second-rounder Trent Murphy. The rest of the Washington defense appears far less impressive, but a strong pass rush can go a long ways in hiding other holes. There is some chance Galette will lose time to a suspension this season, as he was recently released by the Saints for allegedly striking a woman with a belt in an old video of a beach fight. He was also arrested for domestic violence in January, and while the charges were ultimately dropped, the NFL will likely still look into the incident.
Fri Jul 31 201512:26Junior Galette: (Chest) Signs With Redskins
Galette (chest) has agreed to a one-year contract with the Redskins, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Galette, who signed a four-year, $41.5 million extension last offseason, was recently released by the Saints after a tape emerged that allegedly showed him hitting a woman with a belt during a fight on a beach. He was also arrested in January for unrelated domestic violence accusations, although the charges were ultimately dropped. The videotape might have been a career-ending incident for a lesser player, but the Redskins are betting that Galette's talent will outweigh any public relations backlash. Coming off back-to-back seasons with double-digit sacks, Galette also suffered a pectoral injury during his extremely eventful offseason. Assuming he makes it back to full health for Week 1, he'll likely hold down the starting spot at outside linebacker across from Ryan Kerrigan. Prior to Galette's signing, second-round rookie Preston Smith was expected to compete with 2014 second-rounder Trent Murphy for the starting job.
Fri Jul 24 201515:17Junior Galette: (Chest) Will Be Released By Saints
Galette (chest) will be released by the Saints, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Galette was arrested in January for domestic violence accusations, and while those charges were ultimately dropped, a videotape of an unrelated incident recently surfaced, allegedly showing the pass-rusher striking a woman with a belt during a fight on a beach. Coming off consecutive seasons with double-digit sacks, Galette will now have to look for another team while recovering from a pectoral injury and awaiting a likely suspension. Given the serious nature of his offenses, it won't be surprising if he doesn't play football in 2015. This is a huge loss for the Saints, as Galette was one of the team's few effective defenders last season, and he signed a four-year, $41.5 million extension less than a year ago.

A video surfaced allegedly showing Galette striking a woman with a belt in 2013, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
The video depicts a fight on a beach where one individual, allegedly Galette, was swinging a belt at another man before the fight briefly broke up. A woman walked toward the man with the belt at that point, and that man proceeded to strike the woman twice with the belt. The Saints sent the video to the NFL, which seems to indicate that they believe Galette is the man with the belt. Considering he was arrested in February for (since dropped) domestic violence accusations, Galette is likely on thin ice with the Saints.
Tue Jun 16 201510:40Junior Galette: (Pectoral) Doesn't Need Surgery
Galette (pectoral) was told by Dr. James Andrews that he will not need surgery, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
There was some concern Galette would need surgery, which might come with a recovery timetable in the range of five-to-six months. He'll instead try to treat the injury with rest and rehab, hoping to be healthy in time for Week 1. If his recovery doesn't go smoothly, it would be a huge loss for a Saints defense that's looking to bounce back from a dreadful 2014. Galette is coming off consecutive seasons with double-digit sacks.
Thu Jun 4 201519:19Junior Galette: Suffers Pectoral Injury
Galette recently suffered a pectoral injury, and he's now evaluating his options in regard to a potential surgery, FOXSports.com reports.
If Galette suffered a torn pectoral that requires surgery, he'll likely be looking at an absence in the range of five-to-six months, which would rule him out for at least the first few games of the season. With 22 sacks over the last two years, he's one of the most important players on a Saints defense that hopes to rebound from a dreadful 2014. Galette is also facing a civil suit in relation to a domestic violence arrest from January, but he will not face charges from the incident. The NFL doesn't necessarily need criminal charges filed to suspend a player for an off-field incident.
Thu Feb 19 201519:18Junior Galette: Not Facing Charges
Galette will not face charges in relation to a recent domestic violence arrest, but a civil lawsuit was filed Thursday, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
While the misdemeanor charges against Galette have been dropped, the civil lawsuit is expected to continue. The lack of criminal charges decreases the chance that Galette will face punishment from the NFL, but it doesn't entirely rule out the possibility.
Mon Jan 5 201522:11Junior Galette: Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge
Galette was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge Monday morning, ESPN.com reports.
Galette allegedly pushed a woman to the ground after trying to force her out of his Metairie, La. home, with the victim displaying visible injuries on her face and ear at the time police arrived. After the league revised its domestic violence policy in the wake of the incidents involving Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson during this past season, Galette would be subjected to a six-game suspension as a first-time offender. Such a ban likely wouldn't be officially handed down until more information regarding Galette's situation becomes available to the league office. The 26-year-old, who signed a four-year, $41.5 million extension in September, just finished off his second consecutive season with double-digit sacks.

Galette had two tackles and two sacks in Monday's win against the Bears.
On a night where the Saints had seven sacks, Galette was one of the lead contributors, notching sacks no. eight and nine on the season. At this point, there's not much left to be said about Galette that hasn't already been said: he's a tremendous pass rusher but at a linebacker position that demands some consistency, he's a boom-or-bust option given his low tackle totals. Week 16, however, should give him another opportunity to bust out, as he squares off against a leaky Falcons' offensive line.

Galette made four tackles (all solo) and a sack in Monday night's loss to the Ravens.
Galette appeared to be the only Saint able to put any pressure on Joe Flacco, and he was rewarded with his first sack since Week 9. As has been stated ad nauseam, there are few linebackers in the league that can rush the passer like Galette but until he consistently shows up in the tackle column, he's a boom-or-bust IDP option in fantasy leagues.
Mon Nov 10 201411:10Galette recorded only one tackle in Sunday's loss to 49ers
Galette recorded only one tackle in Sunday's loss to the 49ers.
Sunday highlighted the risk of deploying Galette in IDP leagues. Though primarily a pass rusher, Galette is listed as a linebacker in most leagues. In IDP leagues, linebackers are typically a position of consistency, as much of their value is tied to their ability to post substantial tackle totals. Galette, however, has managed only 29 tackles through nine games (a little over three per game), a low number for a linebacker. His value is buoyed by his ability to take down the quarterback, as he has six sacks this season, after posting 12 in 2013. When Galette is getting to the quarterback, he more than makes up for his lack of tackles, as few linebackers post the kind of sack totals of wihch Galette is capable. When he's not bringing down opposing quarterbacks, however, Galette can be a huge drain on fantasy teams, as he offers little else from a position dependent on consistent performers. As such, Galette remains a risky option in IDP leagues, so owners should be prepared to stomach the highs with the inevitable lows.

Galette made four tackles (three solo) and two sacks, one of which forced a Cam Newton fumble that was recovered by Curtis Lofton, in Thursday's win against the Panthers.
Galette has been a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks, as he's now up to six sacks on the season, good for 10th in the league. While his relatively low tackle numbers are a cause for concern since he's listed as a linebacker - a position where tackles are abundant - his unique pass-rushing skills make him a worthy option in most IDP leagues, though he may have a tougher time in Week 10 against a very good 49er offensive line.

Galette notched his fourth sack of the year, to go with four tackles (three solo), in Sunday's loss to the Lions.
While Cameron Jordan has struggled to the tune of one sack this season, Galette hasn't skipped a beat after last year's breakout campaign. His 22 tackles over six games (3.66 tackles per game) still leave something to be desired from a typical linebacker, but as long as Galette can continue to knock down the quarterback, he will remain a high-quality IDP option. He has a great chance to build on his success over the next two weeks, with matchups against the porous offensive lines of Green Bay and Carolina.

Galette broke free for his third sack of the year, a safety of Mike Glennon in the fourth quarter, in Sunday's win against the Bucs. He also added two tackles (both solo).
Galette posted 15 tackles in his first three games, a promising start for a player who needed to become more well rounded to serve as a reliable IDP option at linebacker. Since then, however, Galette has managed only three tackles in his last two games combined. The sack/safety was huge momentum turner in Sunday's contest, but Galette will need to continue to make plays in the opponent's backfield to maintain his fantasy value, unless he's able to start making more tackles. Don't plan on using him in Week 6, however, as the Saints are on bye.

Galette managed seven tackles (four solo) and a sack in Sunday's win against the Vikings.
Galette now has two sacks in three games, picking up right where he left off after 12 sacks in his breakout 2013 campaign. The knock on Galette last year, however, was his inability to contribute outside of rushing the quarterback, as he had a measly 40 tackles from his outside linebacker position. This year, however, Galette seems to be coming into his own as an every-down linebacker, as he's racked up a solid 15 tackles to couple with his sack-happy performances. If he can continue his well-rounded play, Galette could prove to be a huge steal in IDP leagues.
