Wed Mar 26 201407:59Redskins to use Lauvao at left guard
The Redskins plan to use Shawn Lauvao at left guard.
For now, at least, undersized Chris Chester is staying at right guard, with Kory Lichtensteiger penciled in lightly at center. Lauvao was a right guard in Cleveland, but struggled there and the Skins apparently believe he'll be better off playing next to LT Trent Williams. Lauvao's contract was among free agency's biggest head scratchers, receiving $17 million over four years.

Tue Mar 11 201416:34Redskins ink Shawn Lauvao for 4-yrs, $17 mil
Redskins sign G Shawn Lauvao for four years, $17 million.
Lauvao missed the beginning of last season with an ankle injury, but was an every down player for the Browns beginning Week 5. He struggled as a run blocker in 2013, but has been a solid blocker in his career and should add beef to a smallish Washington offensive line.

Thu Feb 27 201410:06Shawn Lauvao walking from Cleveland?
ESPN Cleveland does not expect free agent G Shawn Lauvao back with the Browns.
Lauvao missed the start of last season due to an ankle injury. He was an every-down player from Week 5 on, but struggled badly as a run blocker and gave up 18 quarterback hurries along with four sacks. New offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan prefers smaller, more agile linemen to execute his zone-blocking scheme. Lauvao is our No. 10 free agent guard available.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) is hoping to make his season debut against the Bills Thursday.
Lauvao sustained a true high ankle sprain roughly two months ago. He was able to split first-team reps with fill-in starter Oniel Cousins on Monday. Getting Cousins out of the lineup would be fantastic news for the entire Browns offense. He's graded out as PFF's No. 68 guard among 70 qualifiers through four weeks.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) will not practice Wednesday.
It doesn't look like Lauvao will be ready for Sunday's game against the Ravens and that is awful news for the Browns. Backup Oneil Cousins turned in an epically atrocious performance in Week 1, committing four penalties and serving as a turnstile in the run game.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao's 2013 salary jumped from $575,000 to $1.323 million based on rookie-deal incentives.
Lauvao has started all 32 games over the last two seasons. He's an athletic lineman with a nasty attitude, which makes him a solid run blocker. Lauvao was a third-round pick out of Arizona State in 2010, and he's entering the final year of his contract. Cleveland has one of the better offensive lines in the league.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (knee) has resumed practicing.
Lauvao is working with the first-team offense, so he should be good to go for this week's game against the 49ers' stout run defense. The Browns' rushing attack is hands-off for fantasy purposes this week.
