Saints P Thomas Morstead has restructured his contract.
Morstead converted a chunk of his $2.25 million salary into a roster bonus, saving the Saints $1 million against the cap. Morstead was 10th in net punting average at 42.3 yards last season.

The Saints have reportedly signed P Thomas Morstead to a six-year, $21.9 million extension.
The deal makes Morstead the second-highest paid punter in the NFL, behind only Oakland's Shane Lechler. The deal reflects Morstead's dual value as both an elite punter as well as one of the league's top kickoff specialists. According to Pro Football Focus, no full-time punter allowed fewer than Morstead's 116 return yards last season.

Saints P Thomas Morstead recently underwent left shoulder surgery.
Morstead injured the shoulder during the Saints' first preseason game but played with the ailment all year and fared well, averaging 45.9 yards per punt. The punter/kickoff specialist should be fine for offseason programs.

X-rays were negative on Saints P Thomas Morstead's shoulder, and he was cleared to return to Thursday's game.
The Saints got a scare when their punter and kickoff specialist Morstead went down early the game, but it sounds like he's good to go for next week. Morstead was the only Saints player with any luck tackling Julian Edelman Thursday night.

Saints Punter Thomas Morstead injured his shoulder while trying to make a tackle in Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots.
PK Garrett Hartley punted in Morstead's place on the following series (he boomed it 55 yards), and it remains to be seen how serious the injury is. We'll update you when we know more.
