Wed Jan 14 201518:35The Titans have signed Gates to futures contract
The Titans have signed Gates to a futures contract, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.
Gates' last regular season catch was in 2013, when he was with the Jets. He'll provide the Titans with added depth at wideout in advance of the 2015 campaign.
Tue Oct 15 201314:50Jets send WR Clyde Gates to injured reserve
Jets placed WR Clyde Gates on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, ending his season.
Gates separated his left shoulder in Sunday's loss. Injuries in the Jets' receiver corps had forced the third-year speedster into heavy snaps (140), but predictably, he caught only 12 passes in six games. He committed three drops in the process. Gates is not an effective NFL player, but he's signed through 2014 in New York.

Jets WR Clyde Gates caught five balls for 36 yards in Sunday's Week 6 loss to Pittsburgh.

Clyde Gates (knee) is questionable for Week 5 against the Falcons.
Gates was downgraded from limited to "DNP" on Saturday and will be a game-time decision. If active, he'll serve as the No. 3 receiver this week behind Stephen Hill (probable, concussion) and Jeremy Kerley.

Fri Sep 13 201301:04Clyde Gates has drop-filled night
Clyde Gates caught two passes for 42 yards in New York's Week 2 loss to the Patriots.
Forced into heavy snaps - and eight targets - with Jeremy Kerley (concussion) sidelined, Gates turned in a brutal, drop-filled performance. It was the kind of night that makes you question (again) why he's still on an NFL roster. Gates won't make it through the year in New York if he continues to play like he did Thursday.

Mon Aug 5 201308:58Clyde Gates has been a star of camp
Jets WR Clyde Gates has been "one of the stars of camp" so far.
It's becoming an annual tradition for Gates to star in training camp and then flame out when it counts. Those 4.37 wheels aren't nearly as effective when the hitting goes live. Gates is a good bet to stick on the final roster thanks to Santonio Holmes' foot woes, but he's just a weak situational deep threat.

Sun Dec 23 201220:29Clyde Gates has three-catch afternoon
Clyde Gates caught three passes for a team-leading 65 yards in New York's Week 16 loss to the Chargers.
Today was just the second time all year Gates cleared 30 yards. Whether or not the former fourth-round pick is back with the Jets next season will depend on if GM Mike Tannenbaum is retained.

Clyde Gates (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Saturday and is officially listed as questionable for Week 15 on Monday night versus the Titans.
Gates did not practice at all on Thursday or Friday and hasn't played at all since Thanksgiving night against the Patriots. The speedy receiver still has to pass another concussion test, though, so he'll be a game-time decision. Gates isn't a fantasy option.

Jets declared WR Clyde Gates, QB Tim Tebow, DL Damon Harrison, S Eric Smith, OG Caleb Schlauderaff, CB Aaron Berry, and OLB Ricky Sapp inactive for Week 13.
The Jets will hope for no butt-fumbles this week. If another one occurs against the Cardinals and injures Mark Sanchez, they'd have to turn to Greg McElroy.

Thu Nov 29 201213:24Jets WR Gates not expected to play
Jets WR Clyde Gates (concussion) is not expected to play in Week 13 versus the Cardinals.
While Chaz Schilens (concussion) is limited in practice for the second straight day, Gates has yet to take the field this week. He must be having a tough time passing his baseline test. None of the Jets receivers is an advisable fantasy play versus a strong pass defense.

Sun Nov 18 201217:42Clyde Gates has two-touch afternoon
Clyde Gates started the Jets' Week 11 win over the Rams, catching one pass for 10 yards.
Gates also rushed once for 12 yards. Gates' first "start" of the year came at the expense of a banged-up Jeremy Kerley, but Kerley was on the field one play later. Gates occasionally makes an impact in the Jets' dysfunctional offense, but couldn't be further from WR5 consideration.

Sun Oct 28 201217:30Gates leads Jets in receiving in Week 8
Clyde Gates led the Jets in receiving in Week 8 against the Dolphins.
Gates did all of his damage with the Jets in comeback mode, but it's possible he could see an expanded role on special teams if Joe McKinight (ankle) requires an extended absence. He finished with 82 yards on seven receptions and tied Dustin Keller and Jeremy Kerley with a team-high 11 targets.

Sat Sep 1 201213:37Jets land former Dolphins burner Gates
Jets claimed WR Clyde Gates off waivers from the Dolphins.
From one of the league's worst receiver corps to another. A fourth-round pick last season, Gates is a true burner, but proved to be extraordinarily raw as a rookie, making just two catches in 15 games. He's not the answer for the Jets' beleaguered receiver corps.
