Mon Mar 9 201512:58Hudson expected to sign five-year
Hudson is expected to sign a five-year, $44.5 million contract with the Raiders on Tuesday, CSN Bay Area reports.
Hudson's projected contract would make him the NFL's highest-paid center. By adding him, the Raiders will certainly not retain fellow center Stefan Wisniewski, who was actually drafted a few selections before Hudson during the second round of the 2011 draft. Nonetheless, landing Hudson represents a strong acqusition for the Raiders, while the move also figures to weaken their AFC West rival Chiefs' offensive line.

The Kansas City Star reports the Chiefs "aren't comfortable" with Rodney Hudson as their starting center.
Hudson opened minicamp as the favorite to start, but Jeff Allen has been working with the first-team offense. The Chiefs also drafted Eric Kush in the sixth-round, who is expected to compete for backup duties in training camp.

Fri Apr 19 201321:55Rodney Hudson back on field for minicamp
Rodney Hudson opened pre-draft minicamp as the Chiefs' starting center.
The 55th pick in the 2011 draft, Hudson opened last year as the starter but broke his leg in Week 3 and went on injured reserve. Hudson was a decorated guard at Florida State, but is built like a pivot at 6-foot-2, 299. He is a bit undersized, but athletic and should win any competition to start for Andy Reid.

C Rodney Hudson (broken leg) is expected to be a full participant in the Chiefs' offseason program.
Hudson was sent to injured reserve after breaking his leg in Week 3. He started all three games before going down. "I've been working hard to get back and it's good to be back," Hudson said at voluntary workouts Tuesday. Hudson remains the Chiefs' clear-cut starter at center.

Wed Sep 26 201212:10Rodney Hudson lands on IR
Chiefs placed C Rodney Hudson (leg) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Hudson broke a bone in his leg during the Week 3 win over the Saints. Ryan Lilja will slide over to the center spot and Jeff Allen will step in at left guard. The Chiefs also signed veteran G/C Russ Hochstein on Tuesday. The loss of Hudson, a 2011 second-round pick, is a blow to one of the game's best offensive lines.

Sun Sep 23 201215:15Chiefs lose center Hudson to knee injury
Chiefs C Rodney Hudson was forced from Sunday's Week 3 game at New Orleans with a knee injury.
Hudson was on the ground screaming in pain, but the severeity of the injury is unclear. The Chiefs don't have a pure backup center, so Ryan Lilja has moved over with Jeff Allen coming on at left guard.

Mon Jul 30 201209:34Rodney Hudson steps in as starter
Rodney Hudson is running as the Chiefs starting center, as expected.
Long-time pivot Casey Wiegmann has retired. Hudson is a 2011 second-round pick that has ideal size at 6'2/299. "Bodywise, he's got the body, and I think he's got the right frame of mind," coach Romeo Crennel said. "He's got one of those offensive-lineman mentalities. So far, I think he's done a good job." Headed by tackles Branden Albert and Eric Winston, this unit has top-five potential.

Fri Feb 24 201214:48Pioli: Rodney Hudson will be a starter in '12
Chiefs GM Scott Pioli confirmed at the Combine that 2011 second-round pick Rodney Hudson will be a starter in 2012.
Hudson was a guard at Florida State and the most decorated offensive lineman in Seminoles history, but he was drafted to play center in Kansas City. He'll be a natural replacement for free agent C Casey Wiegmann, who will likely retire.
