Fri Jul 24 201517:02Josh Thomas: Signs with Vikings
Thomas was signed by the Vikings, the team announced on Friday.
Thomas spent last season with the Jets and Seahawks but appeared in just four games and recorded a total of two tackles. He did have a solid couple seasons in Carolina, but he has struggled to find work as of late. He now enters a Vikings secondary with Xavier Rhodes and Terence Newman likely starting at the cornerback positions, so it looks as if Thomas is going to serve another small role in Minnesota.

Thomas signed with the Jets on Monday, the New York Daily News reports.
Thomas' signing comes in wake of fellow cornerback Dee Milliner being ruled out for the season with a torn Achilles. After being cut by the Panthers following this year's preseason, Thomas played three games for the Seahawks before being released by them last week. Nonetheless, Thomas will add depth to a Jets' secondary in need of help.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he hasn't decided whether CB Josh Thomas will start in Thursday's night game against the Bucs.
Thomas was benched in the second half of Week 7 after getting beat twice deep. He'll likely be replaced by undrafted rookie Melvin White in the starting lineup and limited to a sub-package role this week. Thomas has struggled in pass coverage this season, but is currently the No. 6 corner in run support by Pro Football Focus. Perhaps the Panthers should consider a move to safety.
