Thu Dec 18 201415:25Wright signed four-year extension with Seahawks on Thursday
Wright signed a four-year extension with the Seahawks on Thursday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.
Wright, who is four tackles shy of the first 100-tackle campaign of his career, has solidified outside linebacker in Seattle across from Bruce Irvin.
Thu Oct 30 201402:12Wright will move back to this usual outside linebacker position ...
Wright, who played the last two games at middle linebacker in place of the injured Bobby Wagner, will move back to this usual outside linebacker position this Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, the Associated Press reports.
Wright's OLB replacement, Malcolm Smith, suffered a groin injury last week, so Wright will go back to his usual spot and rookie Brock Coyle will start in the middle. Wright's production was about the same in the middle as it was on the outside this year. He averages seven tackles per game.
Thu Jan 23 201417:21K.J. Wright expects to be '100 %' for SB48
Seahawks LB K.J. Wright (foot) expects to be "100 percent" for the Super Bowl, and to be back at weak-side linebacker.
Sidelined since Week 14, Wright returned for the NFC Championship Game, but played just 16-of-57 snaps. He played on the strong-side because it "required less running." It's unclear if he'll start against the Broncos, but fill-in Malcolm Smith should continue to have a role.

Mon Jan 20 201413:35K.J. Wright played 16 snaps in NFCCG
Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright returned from his foot injury to play 16 snaps in Sunday's NFC Championship game win over San Francisco.
Wright recorded a quarterback hurry and was officially credited with a pair of tackles. Look for Wright to resume full-time duties in Super Bowl 48, frequently taking on Julius Thomas in coverage. 24-year-old Wright is fairly pedestrian in run defense, but pass coverage is his specialty.

Fri Jan 17 201416:18K.J. Wright (foot) expected to play on Sunday
Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright (foot) will play in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
Coach Pete Carroll wouldn't say whether Wright will start, but he made it through a full week of practice without any setbacks and is expected to play "without limitations." A near every-down player before going down, Wright's return will allow the Seahawks to reduce Malcolm Smith's snaps dramatically. Wright will be playing in just his first game action since Week 14.

Thu Jan 16 201419:03K.J. Wright (foot) practice in full Thursday
Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright (foot surgery) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Wright returned to practice on Wednesday and coach Pete Carroll said there's a "chance" he'll be available for the NFC Championship Game. He would represent an upgrade at strong-side linebacker for the Seahawks, who have been starting Malcolm Smith in his absence. Wright hasn't played since December 8 and will almost certainly be on a snap count if active against the 49ers.

Wed Jan 15 201415:43Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright practicing Thursday
Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright (foot surgery) returned to practice on Wednesday.
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that there's a "chance" Wright returns for the NFC Championship Game, but what he's able to do Wednesday and Thursday will be all important. Wright hasn't played since December 8. Wright was a near every-down player before going down, but he'd almost certainly be on a snap count against the 49ers.

Tue Jan 14 201422:58'Chance' K.J. Wright is active for NFCCG
According to Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, there's a "chance" SLB K.J. Wright (foot surgery) is active for Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
"We're going to take a look at him on Wednesday," coach Pete Carroll said Monday. "He ran well (Monday) and over the weekend. ... He has a chance. We're excited about that for him." It's been widely presumed that Wright wouldn't be ready to return before a theoretical Super Bowl appearance, so even if he can gain clearance to face the 49ers, he'd almost certainly be on a snap count after missing over a month of action. Of course, even a limited Wright would be a big boost as the 49ers and Seahawks fight for the right to advance to New York.

Tue Jan 7 201417:09K.J. Wright to resume running on Thursday
Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright (foot surgery) will resume running on Thursday, but has been ruled out for the Divisional Round.
Wright is barely a month removed from going down in Week 14, and isn't expected to return before a hypothetical Super Bowl appearance. Even then, he'd be less than 50-50 to suit up. Wright graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 13 4-3 outside linebacker this season.

Tue Dec 24 201317:03Seahawks SLB Wright (foot) 'on schedule'
Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright (foot surgery) is "on schedule, if not ahead" in his rehab.
The word comes via coach Pete Carroll. The Seahawks have opted not to place Wright on injured reserve, but short of a Seahawks berth in the Super Bowl, he's not expected to see the field again this season.

Seahawks declared SLB K.J. Wright, WR Percy Harvin, CB Brandon Browner, RB Christine Michael, OT Michael Bowie, OT Caylin Hauptmann and DE Benson Mayowa inactive for Week 15 against the Giants.
An impact run defender, Wright will miss the rest of the regular season. It's good news for Andre Brown and the Giants' running attack.

Mon Dec 9 201313:16K.J. Wright needs surgery on fractured foot
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed Monday that SLB K.J. Wright will require surery on his broken foot.
It's a big injury for the Seahawks, as Wright is an impact run defender who's amassed 80 tackles and 1.5 sacks through 13 starts. Wright is capable of playing both strong-side and middle linebacker. Seattle will have to dive into its linebacker depth, which isn't great. Wright will miss "around" six weeks. Perhaps the Seahawks will keep him off I.R. in hopes of a Super Bowl return.

Sun Dec 8 201320:10Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright has broken foot
Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright has been diagnosed with a broken foot, and will be sidelined "around" six weeks.
The timeline means Wright will be unlikely to return during the postseason. Coach Pete Carroll made the disclosure in his post-game press conference. It's a major blow for the Seahawks, as Wright is an every-down player in the midst of a fine season. Malcolm Smith should take his place in the starting lineup.

Sun Dec 8 201318:21Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright injures foot
Seahawks SLB K.J. Wright was forced from Sunday's game against the 49ers with a foot injury, and will not return.
Wright appeared extremely upset on the sideline after being told he would not return, but it's unclear how serious his injury might be. Wright has graded out as the No. 10 4-3 outside linebacker in Pro Football Focus' ratings this season.

Fri Jul 5 201314:08Seahawks flip outside linebackers
The Seahawks have flip-flopped outside linebackers, moving K.J. Wright to the weak side with Malcolm Smith at SAM.
Wright is an established stud, racking up 98 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble last year as an every-down linebacker. He'll remain a three-down player in 2013 and have to fight through less "trash" on the weak side. Smith is a new starter, replacing Leroy Hill. He'll probably leave the field in nickel packages.

Sat Nov 10 201211:38Seahawks rule out K.J. Wright for Week 10
Seahawks LB K.J. Wright (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 10.
Wright sustained the concussion just four snaps into the Seahawks' Week 9 win over the Vikings. Second-year man Mike Morgan will take Wright's starting spot at outside linebacker. Owners in IDP leagues will want to take a long look at OLB Leroy Hill, who will assume Wright's duties in the nickel subpackages. Hill makes for a very sneaky play in a strong fantasy matchup against the Jets.

Thu Oct 13 201108:06K.J. Wright now a full-time starter
K.J. Wright is now the Seahawks' every-down SAM linebacker.
Wright took over as a starter in place of Aaron Curry after Week 2, but the two still rotated. Now Wright has the job all to himself after Curry was traded to Oakland. "K.J. Wright has made this possible, yeah. He's played so well," said coach Pete Carroll.

Thu Sep 22 201119:34K.J. Wright to take over as WILL linebacker?
Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley confirms that K.J. Wright is working as the first-team weak-side linebacker ahead of Aaron Curry this week.
"K.J. Wright has played very well for us, especially in that first game," Bradley said. "And we just felt like we wanted to have more competition at that spot, so we're giving K.J. a chance there yesterday, and we looked him today. And we'll evaluate it the whole week."
