Davis was relegated to special teams in 2014, where he recorded two tackles in six games.
The Falcons simply have too many talented wide receivers for Davis to be a viable option on offense. He'll be a restricted free agent this offseason.
Fri Nov 21 201414:35Davis (ankle) activated from PUP list Friday
Davis (ankle) was activated from the PUP list Friday, ESPN.com's Vaughn McClure reports.
Davis is evidently ready to go for Sunday's game against Cleveland, as the Falcons cut wideout Freddie Martino upon activating Davis. Davis is worth monitoring in case he pushes for the third wideout role in Atlanta after totaling 216 yards and two touchdowns on just 17 targets last year, but he has a long climb to make on the depth chart before he's worth fantasy consideration in most situations.
Wed Nov 12 201417:26Davis (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday
Davis (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Afterward, he stated, "It feels pretty good. It still is a little bit brand new just getting back to doing everything and running routes and being on special teams. I think the biggest part is being back out there and getting into the same routine and helping. I'm feeling good and just trying to get my cardio back."
After practicing in a limited capacity last week, Davis has received an uptick in reps and is seemingly closing in on his season debut. The Falcons must make a decision on activation from the PUP list by Nov. 24, but it's safe to say that Wednesday's development is a step in the right direction.
Wed Nov 5 201414:04Drew Davis:
Davis (foot) returned to practice Wednesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
The development opens the door for the 21-day period in which the Falcons must make a decision to activate Davis or place him on season-ending injured reserve. The third-year wideout underwent foot surgery in early July, but if he's given the all-clear to play, he'd bolster a receiving corps headed by Julio Jones and Roddy White.
Thu Aug 21 201414:35Davis (foot) will begin this season on PUP list
Davis (foot) will begin this season on the PUP list, ESPN.com reports.
Davis underwent foot surgery in June and was initially expected to miss six weeks, but his timetable has since changed. The wideout will now miss Atlanta's first six games while continuing his recovery. In light of injuries to the Falcons' wide receivers last season, Davis made three starts and made 12 catches for 216 yards and two touchdowns. Now, his absence opens an opportunity for speedster Bernard Reedy to make the Falcons' roster.
Sat Jul 5 201411:22Falcons place Drew Davis on training camp PUP
Falcons placed WR Drew Davis on the physically unable to perform list.
"Drew felt some discomfort in his foot at the end of minicamp," said coach Mike Smith. "We decided to send him to the doctors for some evaluations and it was determined he had suffered an injury that would require a procedure." The Falcons expect Davis to miss around six weeks.

Tue Dec 24 201300:33Drew Davis goes for 70 yards in Week 16 loss
Drew Davis caught three passes for 70 yards in Week 16 against the 49ers.
Davis was elevated to the No. 3 receiver this week with Darius Johnson (ankle) out and ended up reeling in all three of his targets. His biggest play was a 59-yard catch-and-run where he busted out a spin move to set up and eventual Steven Jackson two-yard touchdown. Davis will likely handle No. 3 duties again in the regular season finale against the Panthers next Sunday.

Wed Oct 30 201309:47Drew Davis logs heavy snaps once again
Drew Davis played on 71-of-83 snaps in Sunday's loss at Arizona.
Over the last two weeks, Davis has played 87.0 percent of the snaps. It led to a breakout Week 8 performance that included five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. The problem, of course, is that Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) could be back as soon as this week. At that point, Davis won't be getting enough playing time to be worth a start.

Sun Oct 27 201320:27Drew Davis shows up for Matt Ryan
Drew Davis caught five passes for 77 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 8 loss at Arizona.
For the second straight week, Davis played virtually every snap opposite Harry Douglas. This time, he came up with production. The second-year undrafted player out of Oregon boasts strong hands and some separation skills as he plays the Julio Jones role in the Falcons offense. There's some deep-league appeal here as the Falcons are going to have to throw a ton going forward. Their run game is completely inept.

Mon Oct 21 201309:44Drew Davis was an every-down WR
Drew Davis played on 43-of-48 snaps in Sunday's win over the Bucs.
Davis is far ahead of Brian Robiskie and Kevin Cone, who combined to play three snaps. Davis had a meager one catch for 24 yards, but he saw a lot of Darrelle Revis and the Falcons only attempted 26 passes. If Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) continues to miss time, there will be better days ahead for Davis.

Sun Oct 20 201317:25Drew Davis starts, limited to one catch
Drew Davis had one catch for 24 yards in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Bucs.
It was his only target of the game. Davis started opposite Harry Douglas in two-wide sets, but was shut down by Darrelle Revis outside of an impressive one-handed catch in the third quarter. With Julio Jones out for the season and Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) not a lock to return next week, Davis worth monitoring in deeper re-draft leagues.

Sun Oct 20 201311:51Drew Davis to start opposite Harry Douglas
Falcons WR Drew Davis is expected to start in Week 7 against the Bucs.
Davis will play opposite Harry Douglas in two-wide sets and is best suited to take over the Julio Jones role in Atlanta's offense. He had be limited to special teams the first five games, but will be more involved in the offense this week with the Falcons playing without both Jones and Roddy White (hamstring, ankle).

Tue Jun 25 201309:32Drew Davis to be the No. 4 receiver?
Drew Davis is expected to enter camp as the Falcons' No. 4 receiver.
An undrafted free agent out of Oregon last year, Davis has done well to carve out a role on the Falcons' talented roster. His ability to contribute on special teams as well as back up Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas makes him a strong bet to stick on the final 53 again.

Sun Oct 28 201223:28Drew Davis posts 2/30/1 line against Philly
Falcons WR Drew Davis caught two passes for 30 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 8 win over Philadelphia.
He secured both balls on Atlanta's opening possession, filling in for injured Harry Douglas at slot receiver. "He's a guy who has kept at it and at it," Matt Ryan said of Davis, a UDFA out of Oregon. "He has been really focused on getting better, even when there wasn't an immediate payoff. That's hard in this business, but he was ready and we had a great design for him on that first drive."
