Fri Oct 10 201414:28Smith (groin) out for Sunday's game against Giants
Smith (groin) is out for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Smith's absence shouldn't affect anything about the Philadelphia offense, as he's yet to see a target yet this year.
Mon Sep 15 201419:13Smith (groin) active Monday at Indianapolis
Smith (groin) is active Monday at Indianapolis, Sheil Kapadia of PhillyMag.com reports.
Smith is far down the Eagles' wide receiver ranks. If in need of production, owners should focus their attention on Jordan Matthews outside of top options Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper.
Sat Sep 13 201413:32Smith (groin) probable for Monday's game against Colts
Smith (groin) is probable for Monday's game against the Colts, the Eagles' official site reports.
As long as Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper and Jordan Matthews remain healthy, Smith's opportunities in the Eagles' offense figure to remain sporadic.
Fri Sep 5 201415:12Smith (groin) probable for Sunday's game against Jacksonville
Smith (groin) is probable for Sunday's game against Jacksonville.
Smith is listed as Philadelphia's third wideout ahead of rookie second-round pick Jordan Matthews, but that's likely just a ceremonial nod toward Smith's veteran status. He's mostly off the fantasy radar at the moment, though coach Chip Kelly's creativity means Smith could get a chance to show his running skills at some point.

Smith, Afeanyi Momah and Arrelious Benn started Friday's preseason game against the Patriots, Martin Frank of the Delaware News Journal reports.
With Jeremy Maclin (hamstring) and Riley Cooper (foot) out, the Eagles opted not to start either of their promising rookie wideouts, Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff (shoulder). Though Smith's versatility will help his chances of making the final roster, he doesn't figure to do much in the passing game this season. The same goes for Afeanyi Momah and Arrelious Benn, although someone will have to step up if all the injuries lingers. Despite starting, Smith did not register a target in Friday's game.
Sat Mar 29 201416:24Eagles WR/KR Brad Smith takes pay cut
Eagles WR/KR Brad Smith has agreed to a restructured contract.
Smith was owed $1.3 million this season, but the new deal lowers his base salary by $395,000. He's now due just $450,000 in guaranteed money. Smith, 30, will compete for a role on special teams and as a reserve wideout.

Tue Nov 12 201308:49Eagles add Brad Smith to mix
Eagles will sign WR/KR Brad Smith.
The Bills waived Smith off injured reserve Friday. He'll step into Chip Kelly's scheme as depth at wideout and a potential Wildcat quarterback. Smith, 30, could also very well take Damaris Johnson's job on both punt and kickoff returns.

Fri Nov 8 201312:00Bills cutting WR Brad Smith from I.R.
Bills waived WR Brad Smith with an injury settlement.
Smith injured his ribs during the preseason and was placed on injured reserve at final cuts. He's 100 percent healthy. Smith turns 30 years old next month. He can play receiver, run the wildcat, and contribute on special teams.

Fri Aug 30 201317:27Bills place two on injured reserve
Bills placed WR Brad Smith and FB Drew Smith on injured reserve, ending their seasons.
It's actually a nice outcome for B. Smith, who was in danger of losing his roster spot. He'll get his full $1.5 million salary spending the year on I.R.

Fri Jul 26 201322:13Brad Smith restructures contract with Bills
Bills WR Brad Smith has agreed to a restructured contract.
No details are available, but he likely took a pay cut. While the renegotiated deal should increase Smith's roster chances, he's still squarely on the bubble.

Wed Jul 10 201313:28Bills.com hints Brad Smith's spot in trouble
BuffaloBills.com left Brad Smith off its list of receivers with "relatively secure futures in Buffalo."
Back to being a full-time wideout, Smith wasn't lumped in with Stevie Johnson, T.J. Graham, Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin. Reporter Chris Brown does call Smith a "dependable veteran" who "made his share of plays in the spring." Ultimately, it's hard to see Smith surviving his $2.75 million salary and keeping his roster spot.

Fri Jul 5 201309:28Brad Smith less than 50-50 to keep spot?
ESPN AFC East blogger James Walker gives Brad Smith just a 40 percent chance of keeping his roster spot.
Even that might be optimistic after the Bills added Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin and Da'Rick Rogers. Smith's $2.75 million salary makes him a prime candidate for release. Smith has been lining up exclusively at receiver this offseason after combining for just 37 catches the past two seasons.

Fri Jun 21 201309:10Brad Smith played receiver in the spring
Bills WR/QB/KR Brad Smith lined up exclusively at receiver in spring practices.
It would actually be better news for Smith if the new regime viewed him as a wildcat quarterback, as he's due an untenable $2.75 million. That, coupled with the Bills' talent infusion at receiver makes Smith highly unlikely to survive cuts. Going on 30, Smith has caught just 37 passes in two seasons in Buffalo.

Thu May 9 201315:50Brad Smith a cap casualty candidate for Bills
WGR 550 reports WR/KR/QB Brad Smith is "firmly atop" the list of potential cap casualties for the Bills.
Smith, 29, has two years left on a four-year, $15 million contract, and the Bills can save $2.75 million against the cap by releasing him this summer. Buffalo drafted Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin in the second and third rounds, respectively. The Bills also added top UDFA Da'Rick Rogers to the mix with Stevie Johnson and T.J. Graham. Smith doesn't have much of a role anymore. Beat writer Joe Buscaglia also names RT Erik Pears, K Rian Lindell, QB Tarvaris Jackson, and DE Mark Anderson as candidates for release.

Sun Sep 30 201217:39Brad Smith goes for 49 yards, touchdown
Bills WR/QB Brad Smith caught two passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Patriots.
We all know the drill on Smith by now. While he has some talent and can play multiple offensive and special teams roles, he's never a big enough part of Chan Gailey's week-to-week game plan to be given serious fantasy-start consideration. Smith entered Week 4 with five touches for 27 total yards. Leave him on the waiver wire heading to Week 5 against San Francisco.

Sat Jul 14 201218:54Bills expanding Brad Smith's role in Wildcat
The Bills are incorporating more passing plays for Brad Smith in their Wildcat package.
Smith's primary role will be on special teams, but the Bills plan to get him involved in spread/option packages and at wide receiver. Smith saw 403 offensive snaps last season, drawing 41 targets.

Sat Jun 16 201219:40Bills ''expand plans'' for Smith in Wildcat
Coach Chan Gailey said the Bills have ''expanded their plans'' for Brad Smith in the team's Wildcat package.
Smith has worked almost exclusively at quarterback during OTAs, but Gailey confirmed the Bills will continue to use him at wide receiver and in a gadget-type role. In addition to special teams, Smith projects as the Bills' third quarterback and fifth receiver in 2012.

Fri Jun 15 201215:17Brad Smith will be Bills' third quarterback
Bills coach Chan Gailey stated at the end of minicamp Friday that Brad Smith will be the team's third quarterback in 2012.
Smith will also be the gadget guy and Wildcat quarterback. Gailey's comment suggests the Bills will keep just one of Vince Young and Tyler Thigpen on the final, 53-man roster. Our money is on Young backing up Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Thu Jan 12 201210:27Gailey: Brad Smith is gadget-type player
Bills coach Chan Gailey plans to continue to use Brad Smith in a gadget-type role in 2012.
Smith made five starts down the stretch in 2011, but averaged only 32 yards in them. He's not a natural wideout. "We were going along there and running the Wildcat with him and if you'd look, when our third-down efficiency dropped off was when we had to move him to wideout full-time," Gailey said. "...He can be your fifth or sixth wideout, he can be a good special teams player."

Fri Dec 30 201117:05Bills rule out Brad Smith for Week 17
The Bills have ruled out WR/KR Brad Smith (hamstring, hip) for Week 17.
Coach Chan Gailey said Smith's hamstring injury "just won't go away." Instead of Naaman Roosevelt, the Bills will turn to Derek Hagan against the Pats.
