It's been previously reported that Leary will not face a league-imposed suspension. He'll fight for left-guard duties in training camp. He's competing with Uche Nwaneri and Mackenzy Bernadeau.

Cowboys LG Ronald Leary was arrested and charged with DWI back on September 7, 2012, but will not face a league-imposed suspension.
This is notable because Leary is now in the league's substance-abuse program and is susceptible to a suspension if he makes another mistake. At the time of his arrest, Leary was on the Cowboys' practice squad after failing to make the team out of camp. He's competing with Uche Nwaneri and Mackenzy Bernadeau for the starting job between LT Tyron Smith and C Travis Frederick.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects LG Ronald Leary (knee scope) to be ready for Week 1.
"I feel good about him playing the first game," the ever-optimistic Jones said. "He's had a good week." It would appear the Cowboys are going with a Week 1 line of LT Tyron Smith, C Travis Frederick, RG Doug Free, RT Jeremy Parnell and Leary. Jones said Tuesday that he thought Free's performance in the third preseason game was "nothing short of amazing." It's nothing short of amazing that someone used the words "amazing" and "Doug Free" in the same sentence.

Cowboys LG Ronald Leary will have his knee scoped and is "iffy for the season opener."
Leary was expected to open the season as the Cowboys' starting left guard, ahead of Nate Livings, but he has a chronic knee issue that needs to be cleaned up. The Cowboys can't catch a break on the interior line. Livings recently underwent a knee scope of his own, and RG Mackenzy Bernadeau is recovering from multiple injuries and offseason surgery. Phil Costa is the next man up.

Cowboys LG Ronald Leary is undergoing an MRI on his left knee.
Per ESPN Dallas, Leary has a chronic knee condition where "a piece of cartilage, along with a thin layer of the bone beneath it, comes loose from the end of a bone." Despite the painful-sounding description, coach Jason Garrett doesn't believe it's a "serious thing." The Cowboys can ill afford any more issues along their already woeful interior line. Leary recently replaced Mackenzy Bernadeau in the starting lineup.

They're moving on from oft-injured and ineffective Mackenzy Bernadeau. Leary played every single snap in Dallas' preseason opener, and the coaching staff wants to keep rookie Travis Frederick at center. Phil Costa now appears the favorite to start at left guard. The tackles are Tyron Smith and Doug Free.
