Gray (calf) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Gray, who compiled 49 rushing yards on nine carries against the Bills in Week 3, is out there if you need him this week, but given that Miami's top back Lamar Miller -- who was listed as questionable last weekend -- enters Week 4's action healthy, Gray is a speculative play Sunday, while taking aim at the Jets' defense.

Though Gray (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald expects the running back to be available for the contest.
Gray, who returned to a limited practice Friday, recorded 49 rushing yards on nine carries against the Bills in Week 3, but given that he is banged up and that top back Lamar Miller -- who was listed as questionable last week -- enters the weekend healthy, Gray is not an especially high-percentage fantasy play in Week 4, assuming he does suit up for Sunday's 9:30 AM ET kickoff.

Gray (calf) is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Gray was limited in practice Wednesday, then outright missed practice Thursday, so it's not out of the question that he could miss Sunday's game in London. If he is indeed inactive, Lamar Miller's share of snaps could rise even further, while Damien Williams becomes the clear No. 2 option.

Gray (calf) missed practice Thursday.
Gray, who recorded 49 rushing yards on nine carries this past Sunday against Buffalo, was limited in practice Wednesday, with his downgraded participation Thursday hinting that his status for Sunday's game against the Jets could be in peril.

Gray (calf) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Gray recorded 49 yards on nine carries in Sunday's loss to the Bills, thus making his status worth tracking in deeper formats. That said, it's worth noting that top back Lamar Miller, who was listed as questionable heading into Week 3, does not appear on the Dolphins' Wednesday practice participation/injury report.

Gray had nine carries for 49 yards in Sunday's 41-14 loss to the Bills.
Gray made his season debut, getting a lot of work in the second half, when the game was out of reach, but he looked good on several runs. Meanwhile, primary backup RB Damien Williams had just two carries for 17 yards. The running game has struggled in general through three weeks, including starter Lamar Miller, so it's possible that the Dolphins start giving Gray a little more work to see what he can do.
Wed Sep 23 201510:29Gray moved to Miami's active roster on Wednesday
Gray was moved to Miami's active roster on Wednesday.
Gray had spent the first portion of the season on the practice squad but the recent injury concerns to Lamar Miller (ankle) and the loss of Jay Ajayi (ribs) require added depth at the running back position. Even though Gray performed admirably for the Patriots in spurt roles last season, he could have trouble seeing the field in Miami with Damien Williams and Raheem Mostert still in line for the majority of snaps.
Wed Sep 16 201512:02The Dolphins have re-signed Gray to their practice squad
The Dolphins have re-signed Gray to their practice squad, ESPN's James Walker reports.
Gray, who was waived to make room for the team's addition of fellow RB Raheem Mostert, is thus an option for the Dolphins the next time the team is looking to bolster its backfield depth.

The Dolphins have waived Gray.
The team also let go fellow running back LaMike James on Monday, with Raheem Mostert now joining the Miami backfield mix, via the Eagles' practice squad.
Sun Sep 13 201512:01Gray inactive for Sunday's opener against Washington
Gray is inactive for Sunday's opener against Washington.
Gray was recently promoted from the practice squad to provide positional depth, but with LaMichael James (shoulder) active for Sunday's game, Gray's services were not yet deemed necessary. Look for the Dolphins to give him some time to learn the new system, and depending on the health of the rest of the backs, Gray may find himself on the active roster at some point over the next couple weeks.

The Dolphins have promoted Gray from their practice squad to the team's active roster, the Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
With Jay Ajayi on short-term IR and LaMichael James dealing with a shoulder injury, Gray gives the Dolphins some added RB depth behind Lamar Miller and Damien Williams. He's a break or two away from resurfacing on the fantasy radar, however.
Wed Sep 9 201511:14Gray officially added to Dolphins' practice squad Wednesday
Gray was officially added to the Dolphins' practice squad Wednesday, Alain Poupart of Dolphins.com reports.
Gray had previously spent time on the Dolphins' practice squad in 2013, but returning to that unit probably wasn't what he had envisioned after he ascended to fantasy relevance following a breakout four-touchdown effort with the Patriots in Week 11 of last season. He'll have to wait for one of the Dolphins' top three backs to sustain some sort of injury before earning a promotion to the 53-man roster.
Tue Sep 8 201518:59Gray slated to sign with Dolphins' practice squad
Gray is slated to sign with the Dolphins' practice squad, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Gray spent his first season of professional football with the Dolphins in 2013, proceeding from an undrafted free agent to the organization's practice squad. After inking a futures contract with the Patriots after that season, Gray was activated from their practice squad in Week 7 and made eight appearances the rest of the season. The bulk of his 412 rushing yards occurred during a 37-run, 201-yard outing in Week 11 against the Colts, but the performance didn't carry over to the current campaign. He'll attempt to work himself onto Miami's RB depth chart, which is sans rookie Jay Ajayi (ribs, IR designated-to-return list) for at least the first six weeks of the regular season
Mon Sep 7 201512:07Gray slated to work out for Titans on Tuesday
Gray is slated to work out for the Titans on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
With David Cobb on short-term IR, the Titans are evidently open to the possibly of adding further backfield depth, even after trading for Terrance West on Sunday. Gray, who was let go by the Patriots this past weekend, is destined to catch on somewhere in the next few days, though whether it's on a team's active roster, or on a practice squad, remains to be seen.
Sat Sep 5 201513:32Jonas Gray: Released By Patriots
Gray has been released by the Patriots, Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal reports.
This is one of the day's more significant surprises, as there was some thought Gray could play a key role in the Patriots' Week 1 offense, with LeGarrette Blount suspended for the first game of the season. Brandon Bolden may now be positioned for early-down work in Week 1, but James White, Travaris Cadet and Dion Lewis could also get some touches. Gray is a borderline NFL talent, but he'll likely draw some interest around the league, as he memorably posted a 37-201-4 rushing line against the Colts in Week 11 last season.

Gray recorded five carries for 11 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Panthers.
It's notable that Gray started the game, with LeGarrette Blount (seven carries for 29 yards) seeing action in the second half. That said, it's possible that Friday's assignment was simply a way for the team to continue to prep Gray for a Week 1 start, given that Blount -- the team's presumed No. 1 "big back" -- is suspended for the Patriots' season opener.

Gray carried seven times for 22 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Saints.
With LeGarrette Blount suspended for the Patriots' regular-season opener against the Steelers on Sept. 10, Gray remains the favorite to draw the starting nod in that contest, with Blount presumably in line to serve as the team's top "big back" upon his return in Week 2.

Gray carried seven times for 74 yards and a TD in Thursday's preseason opener against the Packers.
Gray's productive effort Thursday was highlighted by a 55-yard touchdown run assisted by nice blocks from fullback James Develin and rookie guard Shaq Mason. Gray, who also added a two-point conversion to his TD, saw added opportunities out of the gate Thursday in place of the team's top "big back" LeGarrette Blount, who is dealing with a knee issue. With Blount suspended for the Patriots' regular-season opener against the Steelers on Sept. 10, Gray remains the favorite to draw the starting nod in that contest.
Sun Aug 9 201517:13Gray has looked "powerful and swift" in training camp
Gray has looked "powerful and swift" in training camp, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.
The report adds that Gray has dropped around 10 pounds to get himself in 225-pound range. While LeGarrette Blount approached camp as the favorite to handle the Patriots' early-down work this season, he will serve a one-game suspension to start the coming campaign and is now bouncing back from an MCL sprain. While the expectation is that Blount should be healthy enough to play once his brief suspension is completed, his current absence paves the way for Gray to see added opportunities that quite well could build up to a scenario in which Gray heads the Patriots' Week 1 backfield.

With LeGarrette Blount set to serve a one-game suspension in Week 1, Gray is a candidate to head the Patriots' backfield in the team's regular season opener against the Steelers.
Gray made a big splash last season in Week 11, when he carried 37 times for 201 yards with four TDs against the Colts, but he was quickly supplanted by Blount after arriving late for practice just days later. Once Blount returns to action in Week 2, Gray figures to move into a backup role, but in such a scenario, he'd be an injury away from the team's top "big back" role. Also in the mix for touches behind Blount are Travaris Cadet, Brandon Bolden, James White and Tyler Gaffney.
