Rookie Michael Burton seemed destined to serve as the Lions' fullback this season, but Igwenagu has impressed with his superior blocking and ability on special teams. Should he win the job, Igwenagu has an opportunity to find the end zone more than the average fullback. Offensive coordinator was part of teams in New Orleans that highlighted fullbacks. From 2011-2103, Saints fullback Jed Collins scored seven total touchdowns. | ||||||

Igwenagu is a H-back type that got a lot of reps during training camp when Brent Celek was sidelined by a sprained knee. Now he'll back up starter Clay Harbor with Celek (concussion) ruled out of Thursday's game against the Bengals. | ||||||
