Redskins CB Chase Minnifield (ACL surgery) said that he hopes to participate fully in the team's offseason program. |
Minnifield may never be able to get over his knee injuries, but he's currently expected to compete for a starting job with E.J. Biggers and Richard Crawford. With the Redskins cornerback situation in flux, it's possible that Minnifield could be a factor in 2013 if he can prove he's healthy. Sat Mar 2 2013 | 15:32 | Chase Minnifield has problems in both knees |
Redskins CB Chase Minnifield is now experiencing problems with his left knee after tearing his right ACL in last year's minicamps. |
Dating back to high school, Minnifield has torn the right ACL twice and also undergone a microfracture procedure on that knee. When performing Minnifield's last ACL surgery, Dr. James Andrews used a graft from his left patellar tendon, and now Minnifield is essentially rehabbing both knees. Minnifield "hopes" to be ready for OTAs. The Skins obviously can't count him him for a 2013 role. |
