Thu May 30 201316:37Reyes a potential breakout candidate?
Ricky Henne of Chargers.com identified DE Kendall Reyes as a potential breakout player.
Henne cites a strong finish in 2012, capped off by a 3.5 sack game against the Jets. Pro Football Focus had Reyes ranked behind his bookend, Corey Liuget, and also considered him a liability against the run. However, he had a much stronger second half of the season, and will have an opportunity to carry that momentum into this year.

Chargers second-round DE Kendall Reyes has been a "standout" early in training camp, showing a combination of pass-rushing and run-stuffing ability.
"While it is early, all indications are the Chargers have potentially found something special in Reyes," writes ESPN.com's Bill Williamson, predicting the No. 49 overall pick will play a significant role "right away." San Diego's front-seven looks to be much improved this season.

Tue May 8 201215:17Chargers sign second-round DE Reyes
Chargers agreed to terms with No. 49 overall pick DE Kendall Reyes on a four-year contract.
A 40-game starter at UConn, Reyes offers intriguing size (6'4/300) and athleticism while also boasting short-area quickness and impressive intangibles. He could see playing time right out of the gates as an interior rusher in nickel packages.
