The Buccaneers waived-injured Johnson on Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Johnson played 49 snaps on defense Sunday against the Titans, recording three tackles (two solo) on the day.
Johnson figures to see a large jump in playing time moving forward with the season-ending injury to Derrick Johnson. He likely won't have the impact of the other Johnson, but could record a good amount of tackles as one of the team's two inside linebackers.

Chiefs placed ILB James-Michael Johnson on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season.
Claimed off waivers from the Browns ahead of Week 1, Johnson appeared in all 16 games and notched 17 tackles while working mainly on special teams. Johnson has two years left on his rookie contract. LB Robert James was signed to take his place on the roster.

Sat Aug 31 201318:09Browns make final cuts
Browns waived or released LB James-Michael Johnson, OL Aaron Adams, DB Akeem Auguste, RB Jamaine Cook, DL Hall Davis, WR Tori Gurley, WR Naaman Roosevelt, DL Brian Sanford, and LB Justin Staples.
Johnson, the No. 120 overall pick in last year's draft, didn't fit in new DC Ray Horton's 3-4 scheme. He'll likely draw some interest as a two-down thumper. Gurley has made his rounds around the league the last two years.

Sun Feb 10 201309:44Johnson a 'top bet' to start inside in 3-4
Browns LB James-Michael Johnson is a "top bet" to start at inside linebacker in the team's new 3-4 defense.
Johnson and veteran D'Qwell Jackson are expected to man the inside spots, while the outside spots appear to be wide open aside from Jabaal Sheard, who will try to convert from 4-3 DE to 3-4 stand-up pass-rushing specialist. Johnson ended his rookie season on injured reserve with a knee injury, but it did not require surgery. He should be good to go for OTAs.

Tue Dec 18 201218:11Browns LB James-Michael Johnson on I.R.
Browns placed LB James-Michael Johnson (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
The rookie fourth-rounder will not need surgery on the knee. Johnson started eight of 10 games this season, recording 36 tackles while playing primarily on early downs. With Scott Fujita's Cleveland career likely over, Johnson is a good bet to open the 2013 season as the starter on the weak side. DE Hall Davis was elevated from the practice squad to take Johnson's roster spot.

Browns LB James Michael-Johnson (oblique) has been ruled out for Week 1.
Johnson could miss up to four weeks and hasn't been cleared to return to practice. Scott Fujita (leg) "most likely won't play" Sunday despite having his suspension overturned. Undrafted free agent L.J. Fort is expected to start for the Browns at strongside linebacker.

Sun Sep 2 201212:19GM Heckert lists LB Johnson as day-to-day
Browns GM Tom Heckert characterized LB James Michael-Johnson's oblique injury as "nothing serious" and lists him as "day-to-day".
According to Heckert, it's a matter of Johnson managing the pain and, although he could make a quick return, it's certainly possible he misses a few weeks of the regular season. The Browns did sign Tank Carder, who would see a significant workload if Johnson misses time.

Sat Sep 1 201213:24Browns rookie LB Johnson may miss four weeks
Browns rookie LB James-Michael Johnson could miss up to four weeks with an oblique injury.
With Chris Gocong (Achilles) done for the year and SLB Scott Fujita suspended for the season's first three games, Johnson was ticketed for heavy snaps, so it's a big blow for the Browns. Cleveland is surely scanning the waiver wire for linebacker depth.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer confirms fourth-round pick James-Michael Johnson is expected to push Kaluka Maiava for the Browns' starting weak-side linebacker job.
Maiava's contract is up at the end of the year, so Johnson's long-term upside likely gives him the early edge. At worst, Johnson figures to see heavy snaps as Browns' top backup at all three linebacker positions.

Sun Jun 10 201210:55Browns 'JMJ' impressive at linebacker
Fourth-round LB James-Michael Johnson has impressed Browns' coaches this offseason.
With Scott Fujita suspended for three games due to the bounty scandal, Chris Gocong figures to move to the strong side, which leaves Johnson to compete with Kaluka Maiava for reps on the weak side. The most-likely scenario has "JMJ" working as the top reserve, which will allow him to spell overworked D'Qwell Jackson in the middle, as well.

Fri May 11 201217:18Browns LB Johnson practicing at MLB and WLB
Fourth-round pick James-Michael Johnson is practicing at both middle and weak-side linebacker at Browns minicamp.
There is some feeling that Johnson's best position is WILL 'backer, and his best chance to start would be there over Kaluka Maiava, with Chris Gocong on the strong side and D'Qwell Jackson in the middle. If Johnson doesn't earn a starting job, he'll back up both positions and play on kickoff and punt coverage.

Wed May 9 201216:42Browns sign James-Michael Johnson
Browns signed fourth-round LB James-Michael Johnson to a four-year contract.
Johnson was Nevada's starting middle linebacker last season, but Wolfpack coaches always believed his best position was WILL or SAM. With a big training camp, Johnson could push for a starting job. D'Qwell Jackson and Chris Gocong are locked in as starters, but the weak side is wide open in Cleveland.
