David tallied his highest number of solo tackles in a game this season, along with registering his first quarterback takedown. David has actually yet to leave the field this season when the Bucs are on defense. The standout linebacker had his most prolific game in 2015 in Week 3, and after two relatively quiet games to open the season, bore a much closer resemblance to the sideline-to-sideline force he is known to be.

The fourth-year pro's 11 assisted tackles were by far a career high, and his tackle for loss was the first one he has tallied behind the line of scrimmage in the 2015 campaign. David was credited with eight tackles (four solo) and two passes defensed in Sunday's 26-19 victory over the Saints.
David's performance bore a stronger resemblance to one of his 2014 efforts than his Week 1 outing, with a 60 percent jump in his tackle numbers and the addition of the two pass deflections. The 25-year-old standout linebacker was an integral part of the Bucs defense's stalwart effort in the hostile enviornment that was the Saints home opener, helping to limit bellcow running back Mark Ingram to 3.3 yards per carry. With a new five-year, $50.25 million contract extension signed this offseason, David will clearly be counted on each week as one of the linchpins of Lovie Smith's defense.

The deal, which include $25 million in guaranteed money, will keep the productive weakside linebacker in the fold for the long haul, on the heels of a IDP-friendly 2014 campaign in which David racked up 146 tackles in 14 games in his third campaign with the Bucs.

David recored five tackles (three solo) and a forced fumble in Sunday's season-ending loss to the Saints.
Tampa's top linebacker, David finished the 2015 campaign with 146 tackles (98 solo), one sack and no interceptions. The lack of sacks and the fact David was among several notable players snubbed from the Pro Bowl is likely attributable to his role as weakside 'backer for Lovie Smith's 4-3 defense. The 24-year-old is seldem used in pass-rushing situations and is primarily deployed as the team's top run stopper. With David and Gerald McCoy, the Buccaneers have two of the league's best defenders plugged in as pieces of what should be a much-improved unit next year.

David likely suffered a concussion, though the Bucs haven't said that officially. He'll have to clear the league's concussion protocol before being cleared to play again, so his availability for next week's game against Carolina could be in jeopardy. Dane Fletcher and Brandon Magee are seeing more time at linebacker with David out.

David (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions.
Head coach Lovie Smith said Friday that David had a good week of practice, and his tone was optimistic despite David's questionable tag. There seems to be a legitimate chance that David returns this week, so be sure to check back before kickoff Sunday to verify his status.
Wed Dec 3 201417:43David (hamstring) limited in Wednesday's practice
David (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Sports Talk Florida reports.
David's hamstring injury induced back-to-back DNPs in Weeks 12 and 13, but after fitting in a sprinkling of practice to begin the week of prep, the linebacker is in line to return Sunday at Detroit. If active, IDP owners can again rely upon the linebacker for immense tackle output, as he's reached double digits in seven of 10 contests this season.

David (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against Cincinnati.
David missed last week's game against Chicago after missing all of the week's practices, but his limited practice showing Friday gives reason to hope for a return against the Bengals. Still, David might be well short of 100 percent even if he does suit up Sunday, so his IDP owners might have to be a bit more modest with their expectations if he plays.

David tested his ailing hamstring during pregame warmups, and wasn't quite deemed healthy enough to suit up.
