Jackson is dealing with a strained calf, the Denver Post's Troy Renck reports.
With fellow defensive end Derrick Wolfe suspended for the first four games of the season, Jackson's health will be of particular importance. He probably won't be an IDP option in Denver's 3-4 scheme, but Jackson is the Broncos' most dependable defensive lineman.

Jackson picked up his second sack of the season in Sunday's win over the 49ers.
The sack was Jackson's only tackle, as he continues to be a fairly limited fantasy IDP option given his inability to accumulate a lot of sacks or tackles.

Jackson had two tackles, including a half-sack during Sunday's regular-season opener against the Colts.
Jackson missed a day of practice last week following the death of his father, but he practiced Friday and played most of Sunday's game. He is a solid pass-rusher and could get a fair amount of opportunities at the quarterback this season if opposing offensive lines focus too much on DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller.

Jackson is expected to play Sunday against the Colts after returning to Denver following funeral services for his father on Thursday, the Denver Post reports.
Jackson was able to practice Wednesday before flying to New Jersey for the funeral Thursday, and he then returned to practice Friday. He is able to line up as a defensive tackle and a defensive end, which gives him a little more flexibility in terms of playing time. He had a career-high six sacks last season, and may get a few more opportunities at the quarterback this season with opposing offenses having to focus on slowing down DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller.
Sat Jan 11 201410:31Malik Jackson breaks out as 2nd-year pro
Broncos DL Malik Jackson finished the regular season as Denver's team leader in tackles for loss (11) and QB hurries (15).
A favorite of Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris coming out of Tennessee as a 2012 fifth-round pick, Jackson has flourished as a versatile tackle-end, earning a starting job. "I think he has improved tremendously," coach John Fox said. "He and (rookie DT) Sylvester Williams have both improved a lot." Despite limited snaps, Jackson graded out as a top-12 defensive tackle in Pro Football Focus' regular season ratings, racking up 42 tackles and six sacks.

Sat Aug 10 201317:04Del Rio impressed with DL Malik Jackson
Broncos DC Jack Del Rio singled out second-year DL Malik Jackson as a player that impressed him in Thursday's preseason opener.
"I thought he really stood out," Del Rio said. "Malik is having a good camp and quietly making a move himself." Jackson, last year's fifth-rounder, has been rotating in with the first-team defense recently. He played just 123 defensive snaps as a rookie, and we wouldn't expect that to rise dramatically in 2013.

Tue Aug 28 201211:27Rookie DL Malik Jackson impressing Broncos
According to the Denver Post, Broncos fifth-round DL Malik Jackson has "consistently stood out."
Jackson has three tackles, a sack and forced fumble through three preseason games, and is capable of playing both end and tackle. A mountainous 6-foot-6, 284 pounds, Jackson was billed as a high-motor player coming out of Tennessee, and could see heavy snaps as a rookie.
