Head coach Jason Garrett said Monday that the Cowboys will evaluate the entire roster during their upcoming Week 6 bye, Marc Sessler of NFL.com reports. "We're gonna evaluate our quarterbacks, we're gonna evaluate our offensive line, we're gonna evaluate our tight ends, our receivers, our running backs, everybody on defense and everybody in the kicking game," Garrett said. "We'll do that this week. We'll make any determinations as the week goes on."

While the Cowboys have problems across the board, as intimated by Garrett's comments, the quarterback situation is poised to dominate the sports radio circuit during the bye week. Weeden has so far posted a 72.4 completion percentage, but explosive plays have been nonexistent since Tony Romo broke his collarbone in Week 2. As evidence, Weeden boasts 7.54 yards per attempt in Romo's stead, culminating in a mark of 4.82 in Sunday's pummeling at the hands of the Patriots. If the Cowboys opt for change, Matt Cassel would be the obvious replacement due to his starting experience, but the aforementioned bye will likely delay any decision for some time.

Weeden completed 26-of-39 passes for 188 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 30-6 loss to New England. He had three carries for 18 yards.

Dallas has a bye next week, so keep an eye on things, as the team could turn to veteran QB Matt Cassel in Week 7.

In any case, Weeden wasn't asked to do much Sunday, as the Cowboys were leading when he entered the game. He did throw a nice 42-yard touchdown strike to Terrance Williams late in the fourth quarter to ice the win. In Week 3, Weeden will take on the Falcons at home.

Weeden, 43 30, made 20 starts in Cleveland the past two seasons, compiling a 5-15 record with a 23:26 TD-to-INT ratio and 55.9 completion rate. A former top-prospect baseball pitcher, Weeden has always possessed plus arm strength but has very little athleticism and is maddeningly deliberate in all of his movements. His skill set makes an offensive line look worse. The Cowboys need arms for the offseason program with Kyle Orton undecided about playing in 2014, and Tony Romo coming off back surgery.

The Cowboys are serious about this Weeden thing. They still don't know whether Kyle Orton will play in 2014, and gave Weeden a high grade coming out of Oklahoma State in 2012. Weeden was the 22nd overall pick in the 2012 draft and has no ties to the current Browns regime. It was inevitable that GM Ray Farmer was going to cut the cord on the 30-year-old third-year pro. Weeden went 0-5 as a starter last season and seems to be regressing. He took a whopping 55 sacks in 23 games of action and has a career 23:29 touchdown-to-turnover ratio to go along with a 71.8 quarterback rating. Weeden has no anticipation and doesn't have a feel for the pocket. We expect him to have a cold market.

Browns GM Ray Farmer plans to evaluate Brandon Weeden based on what he's done "in the National Football League."

"Once you're in the National Football league, you're graded upon your performance and what you were able to achieve at that moment," Farmer said. In other words, the Browns will be moving on from Weeden. It's a marriage both sides want out of. Weeden has no trade value. He'll be released and attempt to latch on as someone's No. 2 or 3 quarterback.
