Miles suffered a shin injury during Thursday's practice and underwent season-ending surgery later that evening, Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports. | ||||||
Miles was set to make his season debut Sunday after the Jets signed him off their practice squad just days earlier, but the untimely injury will prevent that from happening. The defensive back will have to hope that he heals up from the surgery in time to make a case for a roster spot with a team during training camp next summer. | ||||||

Miles is a second-year UDFA out of California (PA) who spent the majority of 2013 on the Jets' practice squad. At 6'/203, he's a big hitter whom ESPN New York mentions as a sleeper to "make a move in training camp" and contribute. Miles posted a 36.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-3 broad jump at the 2013 Combine. | ||||||
