Wed Sep 9 201512:59Mills claimed off waivers by Cowboys on Monday
Mills was claimed off waivers by the Cowboys on Monday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Mills entered training camp as the starter at right tackle for the Bears, but the team's new coaching staff wasn't convinced the third-year pro would be a viable solution along the offensive line. With the ability to play both tackle and guard, Mills should be a useful reserve option for the Cowboys.
Sun Sep 6 201522:38Mills released by Bears on Sunday
Mills was released by the Bears on Sunday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Mills, who had started at right tackle the last two seasons, never seemed to earn the faith of the Bears' new regime, with Charles Leno ultimately earning the promotion to the first team later in camp. With Mills out of the picture, it's possible that the Bears end up moving their best lineman -- guard Kyle Long -- to right tackle.
Wed Jul 23 201421:23Jordan Mills medically cleared for camp
Bears RT Jordan Mills (foot) has been medically cleared for the start of camp.
Mills had surgery to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal way back in January. Although Mills is billed as having solidified the Bears' right tackle position last year, he was the weak link of Chicago's offensive line. PFF charged Mills with 62 QB hurries allowed, the most in the NFL among tackles. The Bears will hope for improvement in Mills' second year. He's still only 23.

Bears RT Jordan Mills (foot) is sitting out mandatory minicamp.
According to coach Marc Trestman, the Bears are trying to be "smart" with Mills' healing process. Mills suffered a fractured fifth metatarsal last Week 17, but avoided a dreaded Lisfranc injury. He could begin camp on the active/PUP list, but is fully expected to be ready for Week 1.

Fri Jan 3 201414:13Jordan Mills undergoes surgery on foot
Bears RT Jordan Mills underwent surgery to repair the foot injury he suffered in Week 17.
The extent is unknown, but a Lisfranc fracture could threaten Mills' availability for 2014 training camp. As a fifth-round rookie, Mills started all 16 games for Chicago but graded out exceptionally poorly in Pro Football Focus' ratings, finishing 74th among 76 qualifying offensive tackles. He's still likely to enter 2014 as a starter assuming the rehab goes smoothly.

Sun Dec 29 201316:44Bears lose RT Jordan Mills to foot injury
Bears RT Jordan Mills was forced from Chicago's Week 17 game against the Packers with a foot injury, and will not return.
The quick rule suggests Mills' injury is serious. Eben Britton is now in the game at right tackle. A fifth-round rookie, Mills started all 16 games this season, but has graded out as a bottom-three tackle in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

Sun Aug 25 201313:41Jordan Mills wins Bears right tackle job
Fifth-round pick Jordan Mills has won the Bears' starting right tackle job.
Mills started the second and third preseason games, and Jay Cutler "clearly" feels comfortable with a rookie right side of Mills and RG Kyle Long. The Bears' O-Line is coming together. If the season began today, it would involve LT Jermon Bushrod, LG Matt Slauson, C Roberto Garza, RG Long, and RT Mills. It's still a bottom-five unit on paper, but has played well together in August.

Sun Aug 11 201318:48Bears bench J'Marcus Webb for rookie Mills
The Bears emerged from their preseason opener with rookie Jordan Mills practicing as the starting right tackle.
J'Marcus Webb, at least for now, has been benched. Mills is a fifth-round pick out of Louisiana Tech. RG James Brown has also been benched, and replaced by first-round pick Kyle Long. It's a reminder Chicago's offensive line remains in prove-it mode, despite numerous offseason additions. Starting two rookies on the right would be concerning for Jay Cutler's front-side protection.

Sat Jul 13 201319:13Bears fifth-round RT Mills candidate to start
CSN Chicago considers fifth-round pick Jordan Mills a candidate to start at right tackle.
Mills reportedly drew "quiet praise" for his work during OTAs and minicamp. He enters training camp behind J'Marcus Webb for a starting job, but could make veteran Jonathan Scott expendable with a strong preseason.
