Harris (foot) played 23 snaps in Thursday's loss to the Broncos, but didn't record a stat.
Harris showed some promise as the 2014 season wore on, but an injury sidelined him for much of the second half of the season. Even though he's healthy, the third-year tight end has seen little production offensively while his top competition for snaps in James O'Shaughnessy caught two balls for 54 yards Thursday. While he still outsnapped the rookie 23 to 14, a change could be around the corner if he can't begin impacting the game.

Harris (foot) is officially probable for Week 1 against the Texans.
Harris played in last week's preseason finale, and was a full participant all week at practice, so there's little doubt he'll be available. The biggest question is how the playing time behind Travis Kelce will be split up between he and rookie James O'Shaughnessy. Regardless, neither of the two will have a huge role unless Kelce suffers an injury.
Wed Sep 9 201518:21Harris full participant at Monday's practice
Harris was a full participant at Monday's practice.
Harris played 11 snaps in the Chiefs' final preseason game last week, but it's more unclear how much he and fellow backup James O'Shaughnessy will be utilized behind Travis Kelce. The Chiefs often employed two and sometimes three tight end sets last season, so it's possible both will receive work unless one can clearly separate himself.

Harris returned to game action Thursday for the first time since he suffered a fractured foot last season.
In his return, Harris went without a reception or even a target, but he wasn't listed among the players who were sitting out. He seems the likely candidate to take the third tight end spot, but supposedly remains behind Richard Gordon on the depth chart. With roster cuts around the corner, tight end could be an interesting position to watch behind Travis Kelce and James O'Shaughnessy.

Harris (foot) is expected to see some snaps in Thursday's preseason finale against the Rams.
Harris returned to practice Sunday, but appears set to be thrown into the fire. He's been a member of the team long enough to know the playbook, so now it's more just a matter of getting his legs back under him. While he was out, the Chiefs drafted James O'Shaughnessy to compete for the backup role, and Harris will likely need to show something to hold onto it. However, he was an effective member as the third tight end last year prior to the injury, seeing the field on some three tight end sets.

Harris (foot) returned to practice Sunday for the first time since suffering a foot fracture last November, ESPN reports.
Harris will likely ease back into action with the Chiefs, but he's expected to see some game action in the Chiefs' final preseason game Thursday against the Rams. He's likely regarded the third-string tight end at this point behind both Travis Kelce and James O'Shaughnessy, but he could take the second spot depending on how he plays in his return.

Harris (foot) will begin training camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list, the Kansas City Star reports.
Harris, who fractured his foot during the 2014 season, is still recovering from the follow-up procedure he underwent in May of 2015. When he returns, he'll compete to secure the number two spot on the Chiefs' tight end depth chart behind Travis Kelce. Harris had three catches for 20 yards in eight games last season.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is optimistic Harris (foot) will be ready for training camp, ESPN.com's Adam Teicher reports.
Harris underwent surgery in November to repair a fractured right foot, and then had a follow-up procedure in early May to insert another screw. A 2013 UDFA, the 6-7 Harris played basketball in college, and he's officially listed at only 230 pounds. If healthy, he could lock down the No. 2 tight end spot behind Travis Kelce, who figures to be a crucial part of the Kansas City offense.

Harris suffered a fracture in his right foot in pregame warmups Sunday, the Kansas City Star reports.
Harris only had three receptions for 20 yards on the season, but provided the Chiefs with an athletic tight end that added depth at the tight end position. The Chiefs will likely add a tight end to the roster either from the practice squad (Brandon Barden) or from free agency.

Mon Sep 22 201421:28Harris failed to record catch against Dolphins on Sunday

While Harris played 13 offensive snaps in the game, he failed to receive a target. He doesn't have much value as the team's third tight end behind Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce.
Tue Sep 16 201414:31Harris caught one pass for 10 yards Sunday against Broncos
Harris caught one pass for 10 yards Sunday against the Broncos.
Harris' catch was the first of his career in the regular season, taking advantage of one of his three offensive snaps of the game. He is still behind both Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce, leaving his value minimal barring an injury to one of the two.
Wed May 28 201415:03Chiefs TE Harris has packed on 30-plus pounds
Chiefs TE Demetrius Harris is up to 257 pounds after reporting to the team at 225 last year as a rookie.
Harris has the early makings of becoming a puff-piece All-Star this summer. Coach Andy Reid praised Harris' work at rookie minicamp, saying it's clear the ex-basketball player has worked "so stink in' hard." Now, he's even getting reps with the first-team offense at OTAs while Travis Kelce continues to recover from knee surgery. Harris is a guy to watch, but let's wait for the pads to come on.

Mon May 26 201419:52Coach Andy Reid praises TE Demetrius Harris
Coach Andy Reid praised second-year TE Demetrius Harris' work at the Chiefs' rookie minicamp.
"This camp was great for him," Reid said. "He played exceptionally well. He's so big, and he's worked so stinkin' hard in that weight room. He's been living in there this off-season and you can tell." Harris is a converted basketball player who spent last season on the practice squad. He stands in at 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds with 4.52 wheels. Anthony Fasano is the top blocking tight end in Kansas City, while Travis Kelce is expected to be a big part of the offense in 2014. But Harris has an intriguing skill set and is a player to monitor in deep Dynasty leagues.

Fri May 31 201318:22TE Harris standing out in OTAs
Coach Andy Reid singled out TE Demetrius Harris for performing well throughout OTAs.
Harris, a college basketball player, is a former power forward trying to make the popular conversion to tight end. Reid says Harris has gotten "better and better everyday," while adding he's continually made plays despite the tough transition. Although Harris wont contribute in a crowded Chiefs tight end corps this year, he's a guy to keep an eye on moving forward.
