The Raiders claimed Armstrong off waivers from the Rams on Tuesday.

Armstrong was brought in to replace Kaluka Maiava (hamstring) on the active roster, and will merely provide depth to the linebacking corps. He'll likely see most of his playing time on special teams, after leading the Rams' unit with 12 tackles last season.

Armstrong has been waived by the Rams, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Armstrong looked to have a bigger role on defense heading into the season but has mainly played on special teams. He had a bad penalty on special teams Sunday, a trend in St. Louis, and Armstrong paid the price.
