Randle ran the ball 15 times for 60 yards and caught all four of his targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 30-6 loss to New England.

Randle had disappeared in the second half of the previous two games, due to ball security issues, but that was not the case Sunday, as he did not fumble. The entire offense struggled, however, so Randle wasn't really able to get on track. Meanwhile, Darren McFadden had little impact as a runner, but caught 9-of-10 targets for 62 yards. Christine Michael ran just one time for six yards Sunday, but considering Dallas' lack of offensive playmakers, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him get more work soon. The Cowboys have a bye in Week 6, so keep Randle on your bench next week.

Randle did not see a snap in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Saints after nearly fumbling at the goal line for the second consecutive week, the Dallas Morning News reports.

After being explicitly told not to try and jump over the pile and stretch the ball into the end zone on goal line carries, Randle did exactly that Sunday on a play that was initially ruled a fumble but was overturned on replay to award him the touchdown. Lance Dunbar's season-ending injury will probably keep him in the backfield mix, but with Christine Michael now being worked in as well, Randle's hold on the starting job appears to be slipping.

Randle had 11 carries for 26 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Saints.

Randle almost had a completely disastrous night, as his touchdown was initially ruled a fumble. He foolishly tried to dive over the pile on a 1st-and-goal from the one-yard line, but he did make it just barely across before losing the ball. Darren McFadden had 10 carries for 31 yards and Christine Michael lost a yard on his only carry. The big development was Lance Dunbar's knee injury, which appeared to be severe. Randle figures to take on more passing-down snaps in Dunbar's (presumed) absence, but McFadden could also soak up some of the work. The Cowboys have a home date with the Patriots in Week 5.

Randle had a huge game Sunday, carrying the ball 14 times for 87 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught both his targets for 18 yards.

He scored all three TDs in the first half, as the Falcons defense adjusted at the break and found a way to slow down the Cowboys running game. Randle left no doubt who the lead back is in the Dallas backfield with the performance, but expect him to continue losing a handful of touches to Darren McFadden every week.

Randle had 18 carries for 51 yards and caught his lone target for 14 yards in Sunday's 20-10 win at Philadelphia.

Randle had a long rush of just six yards, but he did run with a lot of determination and made positive gains on busted plays several times. Meanwhile, Darren McFadden also wasn't impressive on a per-play basis, rushing for just 31 yards on 10 carries. After two weeks, it appears as though Randle will lead the Cowboys' committee, but it's hard to get excited about anyone with the news that Tony Romo will miss 4-to-12 weeks due to a fractured clavicle. If you need to use Randle in Week 3, he'll face the Falcons at home.

Randle gained 65 yards on 16 carries and 42 yards on three receptions (three targets) in Sunday's 27-26 win over the Giants.

Randle started and easily led the team's running backs in touches, but Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar also played key roles. McFadden had 16 yards on six carries and 19 yards on one reception (one target), with Dunbar adding eight catches for 70 yards on eight targets, including two receptions for 40 yards on the game-winning drive. Randle largely settled for modest yardage on the ground, but he made an excellent one-handed catch for a 25-yard gain. Dunbar is going to get most of the passing-down work, but Randle should stay ahead of McFadden for early-down snaps in Week 2 against the Eagles. Although there weren't any goal-line carries Sunday night, Randle was on the field when the Cowboys used a three-tight end formation at the New York two-yard line.

Although coach Jason Garrett refuses to tip his hand as to which running back will start Sunday against the Giants, even going so far as to say "it doesn't matter" who gets the nod, all signs still point to Randle being the starter in Week 1. That doesn't mean he'll get anything close to the workload DeMarco Murray saw last season, but it does give Randle a better opportunity at seeing at least a plurality of the Cowboys' backfield touches.

Although he's listed as the starter on the team's official depth chart, Randle hasn't actually been told by the coaching staff that he will start Sunday's game against the Giants, the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reports. "We won't outline anything before the game," coach Jason Garrett said. "We'll give each of those guys a chance over the course of the week to show us that they're worthy of opportunities."

It's still likely that Randle is the first back out of the huddle Sunday, but game flow and situation should dictate who among Randle, Darren McFadden and Christine Michael gets the most touches and has the most value. A clear starter could emerge as the season progresses, but for now using any member of the Dallas backfield in your lineup should be considered a high-risk play, although one with potentially high rewards as well.

All three running backs figure to have roles, but Randle is the favorite to get most of the early-down snaps to start the season, which likely puts him first in line for goal-line carries.

Randle's likely absence Saturday should open up carries for Lance Dunbar and Darren McFadden, provided that McFadden is given the green light to suit up against the 49ers. According to the report, McFadden has been getting reps with the first team in practice with Randle sidelined.

Randle only missed one practice, suggesting his oblique issue may have been nothing more than a bit of soreness. Meanwhile, Darren McFadden (hamstring) and Lance Dunbar (ankle) are dealing with more serious injuries, leaving plenty of practice reps for Randle, Lache Seastrunk and Gus Johnson. Randle is shaping up as the favorite to lead the Dallas backfield, but McFadden and Dunbar could still push for roles, especially on passing downs.

Randle is dealing with a minor oblique issue, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Randle was held out of practice Monday, joining Darren McFadden (hamstring) and Lance Dunbar (ankle) on the injury list. While Randle was evaluated after practice, the Cowboys are yet to say much about the severity of the injury. According to Archer's report, the ailment did not appear to be serious.

During both individual and RB drills, Randle sat out but was holding his helmet, while wandering about the sideline. If an injury has befallen Randle, the Cowboys would be without their Top 3 running backs -- also, Darren McFadden (hamstring) and Lance Dunbar (ankle) -- though Dunbar was seen working on the side with resistance bands, according to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News. Expect head coach Jason Garrett to clarify Randle's lack of participation in short order.

Randle was impressive on the first day of padded practice Saturday, the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reports.

With Darren McFadden sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Randle is making the most of his first-team reps. McFadden's skills in pass protection will keep him in the picture once he gets back on the field, but the Cowboys' starting RB job appears to be Randle's to lose.

Randle is taking first-team reps on offense with Darren McFadden (hamstring) beginning training camp on the PUP list, Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com reports.

He was at the top of the depth chart anyway heading into camp, but with McFadden unable to even take the field yet, the starting running back job (and the opportunity to work behind the Cowboys' outstanding offensive line) is now clearly Randle's to lose this preseason. Don't expect a DeMarco Murray-like workload or production from Randle in 2015, but he could prove to be a valuable fantasy contributor after the top RBs are off the board.
