Giants second-year DT Johnathan Hankins has "taken a pretty big leap over the summer" and is expected to play heavy snaps in the defensive tackle rotation.
Hankins, Cullen Jenkins, and Mike Patterson are expected to play the bulk of the snaps in the middle with third-round rookie Jay Bromley and Markus Kuhn fighting for scraps. Mon Jan 13 201413:43Giants high on Johnathan Hankins
The Giants "feel good" 2013 second-round pick Johnathan Hankins can replace free agent Linval Joseph at nose tackle.
The 49th overall pick in last April's draft, Hankins toiled as a rotational run stuffer during his rookie year, playing under 200 defensive snaps. He did play exceptionally well versus the run and looks to have a bright future. Joseph is going to be a wildly hot commodity if he reaches the open market.
