Bakhtiari is expected to remain on a knee treatment program for the next couple of days.
Bakhtiari emerged from Thursday's first preseason game with a bothersome knee, so the Packers will be careful and allow him to receive the necessary treatment before trotting him out again.
Tue Jul 1 201408:58Packers LT Bakhtiari bulked up in offseason
Packers second-year LT David Bakhtiari packed on close to ten pounds of added muscle in the offseason.
Coach Mike McCarthy has also now committed to Bakhtiari as his starting left tackle. Bakhtiari measured in at 6'4/300 last season and struggled with the bull rush and as a run blocker. The added strength should help in both areas. Bryan Bulaga is the right tackle. Derek Sherrod will be the Packers' swing tackle.

Tue Jan 21 201422:48Packers not committing to Bakhtiari for 2014
The Packers aren't committing to David Bakhtiari as their 2014 left tackle.
"I don't have an answer for you right now," was coach Mike McCarthy's response when asked who would be his left tackle next season. A fourth-round rookie initially projected to play guard, injuries forced Bakhtiari into a year-long starting role on Aaron Rodgers' blindside. He did not fare well in Pro Football Focus' ratings, grading out as a bottom-16 tackle. Of course, that could be considered a victory. RT Bryan Bulaga is a candidate to shift to the blindside, though it would be a huge shift. Bulaga missed all of 2013 with a torn ACL, and manned the right side the first three years of his career. 2011 first-rounder Derek Sherrod doesn't appear to be an option.

Sun Jan 5 201419:40David Bakhtiari suffers concussion
Packers LT David Bakhtiari suffered a concussion in the second half of Sunday's Wild Card game.
He's obviously done for the day, and has been replaced by Marshall Newhouse. A fourth-round pick out of Colorado, Bakhtiari was generally projected to guard by draftniks but wound up starting all 17 Packers games at left tackle.

Tue Aug 6 201309:39Rookie David Bakhtiari gets first crack at LT
The Packers are giving fourth-rounder David Bakhtiari the first chance to replace Bryan Bulaga (ACL) at left tackle.
Bakhtiari struggled when on an island at Colorado last season, possibly because he was undersized (6'4/299) even at the NCAA level. Now the Packers are asking him to step in on Aaron Rodgers' blind side and leaving turnstile Marshall Newhouse on the right side. It's a concern, but Bakhtiari will get plenty of help and the Journal-Sentinel points out that left tackle spot can be overrated in terms of importance. The last five left tackles of the Super Bowl champs have been Bryant McKinnie, David Diehl, Chad Clifton, Jermon Bushrod and Max Starks. None can be considered elite.

Fri Aug 2 201310:13Bakhtiari has worked way into RT competition
Packers fourth-round G/T David Bakhtiari has worked his way into the conversation for the starting right tackle job.
The competition at right tackle is wide open in Green Bay. Bryan Bulaga has been shifted from right tackle to left tackle, and guys like Bakhtiari, Derek Sherrod, Marshall Newhouse, and Don Barclay are vying for the gig on the right side. Bakhtiari played left tackle at Colorado and is an ideal fit for the Packers' zone-blocking scheme because of his athleticism.
