Fri Oct 9 201517:17Rambo (quadricep) ruled out of Sunday's game
Rambo (quadricep) has been ruled out of Sunday's game.
Rambo had been filling for injured safety Aaron Williams, but with Williams likely to return from his neck injury this week, it's unclear where Rambo will slot in when he returns healthy.
Tue Oct 6 201517:31Rambo (thigh) will likely miss Sunday's game against Titans
Rambo (thigh) will likely miss Sunday's game against the Titans, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports.
Rambo has been filling in for Aaron Williams (neck), which means the Bills may be down to a third-string safety for Sunday's game in Tennessee. Duke Williams would likely get the start, and Buffalo's defense is otherwise in good health.
Mon Oct 5 201516:24Rambo suffered thigh contusion during Sunday's loss to Giants
Rambo suffered a thigh contusion during Sunday's loss to the Giants, BuffaloBills.com reports.
Rambo might have also suffered a pride contusion on the same play, as he tried to tackle Rashad Jennings too high and ended up looking foolish, along with two other Bills, on a play that ultimately doomed the team's chances. Rambo, starting at free safety in place of an injured Aaron Williams, logged just two tackles and no other stats on the day.

Rambo's teammate Aaron Williams (neck) has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants.
That gives Rambo another start at free safety. While Williams should be able to return in another week or two, Rambo did pick up seven tackles in last week's win over Miami. Besides, we're begging for any excuse to use the name "Rambo" in a headline.

Rambo will start at free safety this week in Miami, will not play Sunday in Miami.
It may just be a one-week job, as regular starter Aaron Williams isn't expected to be out too long. Rambo has the chance to post a decent tackles total against Miami's strong short and middle passing game, though there's also a chance Duke Williams sees some extra time on the field at Rambo's expense.

Rambo recorded his first two career interceptions in the Bills' win over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers on Sunday.
The two picks by Rambo were the first blood Rodgers saw since October 26, the last time the possible MVP was picked off and the last time the Packers lost a game before Sunday. As for Rambo, he saw some heavy playing time at safety because Da'Norris Searcy was already out and Duke Williams suffered a head injury Sunday. The big game aside, Rambo really isn't an IDP option if either of those players returns to health this week.
Tue Sep 16 201410:08Rambo waived by Redskins on Tuesday
Rambo was waived by the Redskins on Tuesday, FOX Sports reports.
Rambo's released coincides with fellow safety Brandon Meriweather's two-game suspension now ending. In just over a season with the Redskins, Rambo generally disappointed and thus was made expendable.

Rambo is in line to start the first two games of the regular season following Brandon Meriweather's two-game suspension, Liz Clarke of the Washington Post reports.
Rambo didn't last long as a starting safety for the Redskins as a rookie last season, proving to be too much of a liability as a tackler. He's made strides during his second training camp with Washington, but may not produce much useful IDP production while he fills in for Meriweather.

Rambo will start at free safety in Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots, ESPN.com reports.
Rambo's first-team work comes in light of both Ryan Clark and Phillip Thomas slated to miss Thursday's exhibition contest with hamstring injuries. However, considering Rambo currently sits behind both teammates on the Redskins' depth chart, Thursday marks a ripe opportunity for the second-year player to stake his claim for a larger role. In 11 games (three starts) last season, Rambo generally disappointed while producing 42 tackles (32 solo) and one sack.
Tue Jun 24 201410:51Redskins second-year S Rambo on bubble
CSN Washington's Rich Tandler puts Redskins second-year S Bacarri Rambo on the "wrong side of the roster bubble" heading into training camp.
Rambo started and played all 157 defensive snaps in Weeks 1 and 2 as a rookie before being benched and relegated to special teams for the remainder of the year. He missed too many tackles and didn't perform well in kick coverage, leaving Rambo mostly useless. He'll need a strong summer to earn a spot.

Fri Jun 13 201420:09Redskins 'still have high hopes' for FS Rambo
The Redskins "still have high hopes" for FS Bacarri Rambo.
Rambo opened last season as Washington's starting free safety, but was highly ineffective against the run and got benched after just three games. Despite his disappointing rookie year, the Redskins still see developmental upside in Rambo and he "remains in [their] long-term plans." Rambo is working with the second-team defense during OTAs. He only needs to hold off Tanard Jackson to keep his roster spot.

Thu Jan 30 201410:53Bacarri Rambo not a lock for 2014 roster
ESPN Redskins blogger John Keim does not consider S Bacarri Rambo a lock for the 2014 roster.
Rambo started in Week 1, a sign of how desperate the Redskins were in the secondary. He was benched by Week 3 and proceed to spend the majority of the season as a third or fourth safety. Rambo, a sixth-round pick in 2013, will have to make a mark as a special teamer in camp. He showed no real signs of being a starter at free safety.

Wed Sep 25 201315:07Redskins S Rambo demoted to special teams
Redskins sixth-round FS Bacarri Rambo has been demoted to special teams.
Rambo played every defensive snap the first two weeks. He was limited strictly to special teams last week against Detroit. Rambo has graded out as Pro Football Focus' worst safety this season and has missed four tackles. DC Jim Haslett went with three cornerbacks -- DeAngelo Hall, David Amerson, and Josh Wilson -- along with SS Brandon Meriweather in the defensive backfield last week.

Sat Aug 3 201311:05Bacarri Rambo has strong grip on starting FS
Sixth-round pick Bacarri Rambo has taken every first-team snap a free safety so far in Redskins camp.
Rambo was expected to compete with DeJon Gomes and Reed Doughty, but it's looking increasingly like Rambo has distanced himself from the pack. Rambo has the speed, ball skills and playmaking ability take the job and run with it.

Thu Jul 25 201315:32Bacarri Rambo opens Skins camp as starter
Sixth-round pick Bacarri Rambo opened Redskins training camp as the starting free safety.
Brandon Meriweather is the starting strong safety, with rookie Phillip Thomas behind him. DeJon Gomes and Reed Doughty are behind Rambo at free. The position remains wide open to competition, but Rambo clearly has the early edge.

Mon Jun 24 201319:11Haslett expects one of Thomas, Rambo to start
Redskins DC Jim Haslett expects one of Baccari Rambo or Phillip Thomas to start at free safety as a rookie.
"I think one of them," Haslett said when asked if one of Rambo or Thomas will be asked to start. "Yeah, I really do think one of them will be on the grass. I'm not sure which one, but one of them I think is going to have to. ... We're saying Rambo is a free safety and [Thomas] is a strong safety." Rambo (sixth round) was drafted later than Thomas (fourth), but all signs point to Rambo earning the starting job. FS Reed Doughty is best suited for special teams.
