Wed Sep 30 201513:47Kiko Alonso: (Knee) Expected to play again this season
Alonso is expected to play again this season following a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews, Dan Hanzus of NFL.com reports.
During Andrews' evaluation, he scoped Alonso's knee to determine the extent of the damage to his left knee, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News. Andrews found the ACL intact within that knee, but a return to the field won't be considered as Alonso takes the next month to rehab. In the meantime, DeMeco Ryans, Mychal Kendricks (hamstring), and Jordan Hicks will handle the two inside linebacker spots.
Wed Sep 30 201511:06Alonso (knee) will not play in this week's game against Redskins
Alonso (knee) will not play in this week's game against the Redskins, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
Alonso is in Florida being evaluated by Dr. James Andrews and will not practice nor play this week. It has not yet been decided whether or not Alonso will require surgery, but he will be held out Sunday for the second week in a row.

Alonso's (knee) status for Sunday's game against the Redskins is up in the air according to the Eagles official Twitter account.
Alonso wasn't in the building when the report first surfaced Tuesday, prompting some speculation that the 25-year-old may be ruled out of this week's game with an ACL sprain, however Eagles' defensive coordinator Bill Davis didn't want to lean in either direction. With Alonso and Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) missing Sunday's contest against the Jets, rookie linebacker Jordan Hicks made a big impact, recording ten tackles, one interception and recovering a fumble --- potentially earning additional snaps with the starting group should Kendricks or Alonso miss more time.
Thu Sep 24 201513:27Kiko Alonso: (Knee) Won't Play Sunday
Alonso (knee) won't play Sunday against the Jets, NJ.com reports. Before Thursday's practice, head coach Chip Kelly said, "He [Alonso] won't go this week. He won't go [Thursday], so he won't go this week."
Alonso's inability to practice Wednesday or Thursday due to a sprained knee was enough for Kelly to make a final call. Consider Alonso week-to-week going forward, but his history with knee injuries will likely spur the Eagles to err on the side of caution. With Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) also in line to sit out in Week 3, Jordan Hicks would get the nod at inside linebacker next the DeMeco Ryans.

Alonso (knee) didn't take part in practice Wednesday.
Alonso's ACL sprain didn't allow for a practice appearance Wednesday, but head coach Chip Kelly relayed Wednesday that the linebacker will be monitored throughout the week to determine when he may be able to return. Initially, Alonso was given a recovery timetable of 2-to-4 weeks, meaning a return to practice Thursday or Friday could open the door for active status Sunday against the Jets in New York.

Alonso (knee) will be evaluated throughout the week and has a chance to be available for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Alonso is dealing with an ACL sprain and was recently ruled out for 2-to-4 weeks so this news certainly comes as a surprise when there was originally fear that his entire season was in jeopardy. If he's ultimately deemed unfit for Sunday, however, DeMeco Ryans could be in store for added playing time.
Mon Sep 21 201523:15Kiko Alonso: (Knee) Diagnosed With ACL Sprain
Alonso has been diagnosed with an ACL sprain and could miss as little as 2-to-4 weeks, Howard Eskin of Sports Radio 94 WIP reports.
That's great news for Alonso and the Eagles, as he's shown impressive playmaking skills early on this year, representing one of the few bright spots in the Eagles' 0-2 start. He could potentially be back as soon as Week 5.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports suggest that Alonso's (knee) season could possibly be in jeopardy.
Garafolo notes that there is "still some evaluation and conversation that needs to take place," so such an outcome is hardly a lock, but at this stage, based on initial tests, it is evidently considered a possible scenario for the linebacker.
Sun Sep 20 201521:02Alonso (knee) will have MRI on Monday
Alonso (knee) will have an MRI on Monday, CSN Philadelphia's Geoff Mosher reports.
If Alonso's injury is serious, DeMeco Ryans could return to an every-down role, after mostly just playing early downs in Week 1. Alonso has a history of knee issues, most notably suffering a torn ACL that kept him out for all of last season. He also dealt with tendinitis during training camp.

Alonso suffered an undisclosed injury to his left knee and is out for the rest of the game against Dallas, Bob Brookover of the Philadelphia Inquire reports.
Alonso has had a history of problems with his knees, including a torn ACL in his left knee in 2014. He also had tendinitis in his left knee during the preseason, which brings reasonable concern to the significance of this injury. Alonso had six tackles and an interception in Week 1 against Atlanta and is the focal point of the Eagles' defense. Demeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks will play in place of Alonso.

Alonso picked up an interception and tacked on four tackles in Monday's 26-24 loss to the Falcons.
Alonso, the 2013 defensive rookie of the year, continued to prove himself a potent playmaker in his first regular season game since 2013. He intercepted Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan in the end zone with a one-handed grab, a play that highlighted the Eagles' otherwise lackluster defensive effort against the Falcons.

Alonso (knee) made two solo tackles in Thursday's preseason game against the Jets.
Alonso finally made his first appearance of the preseason, after missing time due to both a concussion and tendinitis in his surgically-repaired knee. He should be fine for Week 1, but there's no guarantee he starts the season with an every-down role, as the Eagles also have Mychal Kendricks and DeMeco Ryans at inside linebacker. Alonso doesn't lack for season-long upside, but he's not a great Week 1 option.
Wed Sep 2 201513:51Alonso (knee) dealing with tendinitis in left knee
Alonso (knee) is dealing with tendinitis in his left knee, but expects to play Thursday against the Jets, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Alonso has been cleared from his concussion, and head coach Chip Kelly said he's not concerned at all with Alonso's leg problem, so much so that he joked he hadn't asked which leg was bothering Alonso. He seems to be on track to see playing time against the Falcons in Week 1, although he hasn't played a regular-season game in over 600 days, so he could be rusty. Still, Alonso's upside as a playmaking IDP is intriguing, and his progress bears watching for all fantasy owners.

Kiko Alonso (leg) missed Saturday's 39-26 win over the Packers because of a nagging leg injury, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reports.
Kelly said in his post-game press conference that he doesn't expect Alonso's injury to be anything major. Alonso was expected to see his first action of the preseason against the Packers had he been healthy. Still, Alonso should be fine for Week 1 and is an interesting, albeit slightly risky, IDP option after his excellent 2013 campaign.
Tue Aug 18 201512:06Alonso (concussion) will return to practice Tuesday
Alonso (concussion) will return to practice Tuesday, CSN Philadelphia's Geoff Mosher reports.
Alsonso will be eased back into practice, as he still has plenty of time remaining before the start of the regular season. The larger concern for IDP owners is the presence of fellow inside linebackers Mychal Kendricks and DeMeco Ryans, which may prevent Alonso from opening the season in a three-down role. Still, there are only a few other linebackers with similar upside.

Alonso (concussion) participated in an on-field workout prior to Sunday's preseason game, but will not play, Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
While Alonso's injury will hold him out of the first preseason game with his news team, the issue shouldn't put him in danger of missing any regular season time.

Alonso (concussion) has not been put through concussion protocol yet, Philadelphia Magazine's Tim McManus reports.
Head coach Chip Kelly said that the Eagles aren't worried about Alonso's injury, and said the linebacker is "fine." Alonso is listed as a starter at both inside linebacker position spots on the team's first official depth chart. His return will depend on when they feel Alonso is 100 percent recovered from the concussion.
Sun Aug 9 201511:57Alonso (concussion) did not practice on Sunday
Alonso (concussion) did not practice on Sunday, Tim McManus of 97.5 The Fanatic reports.
Alonso remains sidelined as he continues to go through the NFL's concussion protocol and it is unlikely the team rushes him back. However, Eagles defensive coordinator did give some assurance regarding the linebacker's health, stating that "Kiko's fine."
Fri Aug 7 201511:39Alonso (concussion) absent from Friday's practice
Alonso (concussion) was absent from Friday's practice, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The team certainly won't rush Alonso back during camp, and he could miss a few more days as he goes through the NFL's concussion protocol.
Thu Aug 6 201514:53Alonso (concussion) absent from Thursday's practice
Alonso (concussion) was absent from Thursday's practice, NJ.com reports.
Alonso, who likely suffered the injury during Tuesday's practice, will be subject to the league's concussion protocol before he can return to the field.
