Jamon Meredith ran with the first-team offense at right guard at OTAs on Tuesday.
Patrick Omameh worked with the second team. Coach Lovie Smith said the competition between the two will continue through summer. Rookies Kevin Pamphile and Kadeem Edwards aren't currently viewed as options to start. Meredith started eight games at left guard last season. Omameh was signed off the 49ers' practice squad in Week 6 but didn't play a single snap as a rookie.

Bucs GM Mark Dominik indicated in a phone conversation with Bills GM Buddy Nix -- recorded by Deadspin -- that OT Jamon Meredith is available for trade.
Meredith, 27 in June, started 12 games last season at right guard after Davin Joseph's injury, grading out poorly as both a run and pass blocker in Pro Football Focus' ratings. The Bucs would be lucky to get a seventh-round pick.

Bucs declared RG Jamon Meredith (ankle) active for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
The Bucs get good news on the injury front as both Meredith and CB Eric Wright (Achilles) are active. With Davin Joseph already on IR with a knee injury, they're desperate to keep Meredith upright. Their inactives: RB Michael Smith, CB Danny Gorrer, S Keith Tandy, LB Najee Goode, WR Chris Owusu, DT Corvey Irvin and DT Matthew Masifilo.

Bucs RG Jamon Meredith is questionable for Week 11 after rolling his ankle at Wednesday's practice.
Meredith was spotted on crutches after the workout. It's a concern for the Bucs as they've already lost their usual right guard, Davin Joseph, to a season-ending knee injury. Practice squadder Roger Aller is currently listed as Meredith's backup.

Sat Oct 13 201219:38Bucs to start Jamon Meredith at right guard
Bucs LT Jamon Meredith will start at right guard in Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Jeremy Trueblood is also being asked to transition to guard, but Meredith will take over for Ted Larsen in Week 6. The decision may have been influenced by the fact that Trueblood has been limited by an illness, so Meredith figures to be on a short leash. Demar Dotson will continue to start at right tackle.

Thu Mar 22 201211:25Bucs sign OT Jamon Meredith
Bucs signed OT Jamon Meredith to a two-year contract.
Meredith, 26 in May, has long been regarded as a line prospect long on potential but low on work ethic. He's bounced around the league, spending time with the Packers, Steelers, Giants, Lions, and Bills. Meredith knows new Bucs OC Mike Sullivan from their days in New York and will compete for a roster spot.

Meredith will add depth with RT Willie Colon going on injured reserve. A 2009 fifth-round pick by the Packers, Meredith boasts impressive measurables only to have four teams already throw in the towel on his development.

Mon Oct 18 201016:58Giants claim OT Meredith
Giants claimed OT Jamon Meredith off waivers from the Lions.
The Giants' front office has a great eye for young talent -- which Meredith possesses plenty of -- but three teams have already given up on the 2009 fifth-round pick. The last two (Buffalo, Detroit) were both tackle-needy.

Tue Oct 5 201023:30Lions claim OT Meredith off waivers
Lions claimed OT Jamon Meredith off waivers from the Bills.
It's never a good idea to be picking up the Bills' offensive line discards, but Meredith at least possesses athletic upside. He remains a long-term project, better suited for the practice squad.

Mon Oct 4 201016:53Bills waive Meredith
Bills waived OT Jamon Meredith.
The 24-year-old has practice squad eligibility remaining, and will likely head there once he clears waivers. Meredith was Buffalo's backup left tackle.
Mon Jun 14 201008:49Meredith locked into LT job
Jarmon Meredith has been the Bills' first-string left tackle throughout every OTA and minicamp practice this spring.
The 2009 Packers fifth-round pick has some athletic upside but is viewed as more of a project than a starting caliber NFL left tackle. But incumbent Demetrius Bell (knee surgery) is questionable for Week 1, leaving Meredith as the Bills' only real option.

Mon May 10 201013:56Meredith runs as Bills' starting LT
Jamon Meredith was the Bills' first-string left tackle at the team's initial post-draft minicamp.
Meredith may be replaced when Demetrius Bell gets healthy, but this is one of the ugliest first-string offensive lines we've ever seen. Meredith's (8 career games, 4 career starts) bookend tackle was Nick Hennessey (1 game, 0 starts). The starting right guard was Jason Watkins (0 games), and the center was Christian Gaddis (2 games, 0 starts). Second-year LG Andy Levitre (16 games, 16 starts) was easily the most experienced starter. Only Levitre and Meredith were drafted. It's going to be a long year in Buffalo.
