Fluker is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday's season opener against the Lions, which could sideline him for 4-6 weeks, NFL.com reports.

Fluker is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday to pinpoint the extent of his ankle injury, but initial indications suggest he could be out for over a month. Should that prove true, the Chargers will be tasked with replacing their starting right guard.

GM Tom Telesco said he still views D.J. Fluker's best position as right tackle.

Fluker, the No. 11 overall pick in the draft, shifted to left tackle for the Week 11 loss at Miami. He proceeded to have his worst game of the season. Still, it's been a promising rookie campaign for Fluker, who has graded out as ProFootballFocus' No. 46 overall tackle. Fellow first-round rookies Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Lane Johnson have all graded out worse.
